  • Diesel Particulate Filters often get blamed for blocking, but almost always a
DPF issue is just a symptom of a root cause that has made the problem.
This trade based video shows you how we went about diagnosing a P2002 Particulate Trap Bank 1 Efficiency Fault Code on a 2012 CSHA 2.0 TDI engine VW Amarok.
    Comments always appreciated.

Great video. I was fully with you until you said the Pressure sensor is a sacrificial wear item……NO….. you have taken the time to prove it’s fully functional and passed with flying colours….fit a DPF and recheck the sensor. I had a situation last week when the DPF was so blocked the soot was escaping from the exhaust flange. This over pressure was noted at the pressure sensor and in turn had damaged the component. So in this case both components where replaced.
    Great work overall though.

Hey i have the same car, i checked my car codes with a scan tool but i never had an engine light. weeks later i got the engine light on the highway. took the dpf out to inspect and clean. front side is clear and back had some ash in the tubes. how come i got the engine light? got some soot chunks out during clean and minimal ash

Hi mate , my amarok has the same issue . Did you take the dpf out yourself ? I’ve been quoted $1700 just for the labour to remove the exhaust and put it back in : that’s not including the filter

@@Iswhatitisssss i took it out and cut it open to inspect the filter and it was completely clean!, but it was a bit damaged at the rear allowing for more flow. but due to the way the sensors works is if the airflow through the filter is too high (unrestricted) it still throws the code up p2002. but speaking to a mechanic if its only partially damage and not completely ruined its somewhat fine, as long as you clear the code to avoid limp mode. but a permeant fix is retune for DPF delete or replace the DPF entirely

@@kieranabbey6418 yea nice ! I’ve decided to go with the dpf delete . Ordered a strait through bypass pipe and re tune ! Cheers for the reply mate

@@Iswhatitisssss you can just knock out the DPF Ceramic material instead :)
