For me, this whole album, Population Override, says a lot without any words, other than titles. Still shapes form in old dooders head and Helplessness, Fear, Compassion, Humanity are a few words that it brings to mind

Years ago this was the second Buckethead album i listened to, rigth after Electric Sea. Totally got me hooked on this guy. Impossible to deny this genius
This album is a masterpiece. The song tittles are like chapters of a novel, they tell a story, the very propably story of the makind in this planet: the grown of our race, the abuse of the mother earth, our self destruction and the birth of a new planet without humans. Of course the music helps to tell the "novel" without words, is the magic of Buckethead.
This one and Condensed Chicken Noodles (first one) are in my opinion two albums that aged the best out of pre-pike era of Buckethead's discography. The chemistry between Travis Dickerson and BH is purely timeless. Sounds fresh as fuck every single time I listen to it and I don't think I've ever listened to an album that would be packed with 10/10 sexy crunchy guitar and keyboard licks as much as these two. God bless this music.
This album is so fucking deep and yet experimental.. It's very difficult to describe it. It's funky, it's got soul and blues but it's also gentle and beautiful... This might be bucketheads best album from an artistic standpoint. Holy shit, and I've listened to hundreds of his pikes and of course all his studio work. Mind is currently melted by this

Damn! How would I be aware of such a talent without internet? I wonder... In spite of all these long, (so many times till the morning) TH-cam sessions of mine, I was not aware of his exceptional existance until I coincedentally came across such ''best topten guitar shredders of all time'' list a couple days ago. Normally I dont give so much credit to those kind of ''who is better than who'' type of videos about music and musicians but, it worked good this time. I might be in a lack of following actual music scene a bit.. But still I sense such an insufficiency of publicity about BUCKETHEAD topic.
Empty Space, Underground Chamber, Balloon Cement, they all stick pretty tightly to a concept, even though some of them are pretty out there, they’re pretty masterful.
Welcome, IMO best album ever, but then you got tracks like: Disintegration mirrors, Project little man , The coats of Claude, Poseidon, Whitewash life, Coupon ,..... and many more.
I’m looking for a buckethead album that was on a burned disc that I no longer have & can’t for the life of me remember the name. It had around 5 to 7 songs, one of the songs maybe the 4th or 5th sounded very Egyptian like & I would love to hear it again, anyone here might know of it??
This is one of the cds I kept in my truck 15 years ago. I bought this 05 and grows on you no matter the mood. I realized buckethead was improvising, a basic idea of a song ..Press record. Only a matter of time before buckethead made 7 albums a month while touring.
Feeling wise he has his ups and down , but he's still a master of his craft and no one does it better than him !!!!! If you had as many notes going thru your head.as he does, al the time. It could very well drive you insane!!!
Lots of Eddie Hazel influence goin' on here and that is never a bad thing. In a perfect world he and Buckethead would be jammin' together with Hendrix, Stevie, and Tommy Bolin. My friend Mike used to go on after Brian's 'lessons' circa 1988-1989 when he was taking from Paul, lucky bastard to say the least. I can't imagine going to lessons only to be treated to a free concert each and every week!!
Crazy how different all his albums are. I find stuff that I dislike and then stuff that I absolutely love. Shame he didn't do more with Travis Dickerson
@@BootsORiley this album is slept on for sure. Absolute gem. I am waiting for the day that a reaction vid of the whole album gets made by a youtuber. I love Thanatopsis’ Axiology album so much!

One of the hardest pieces music out there!
"He doesn't play with feeling."
- Slash, on being replaced by buckethead.
Saw him live with his solo band. Boring AF.

Seems like a (cautionary?) tale slowly becoming reality...
First thing I thought was - population overload with skyscrapers in the jungle!!! Either way, it's great artwork too :)

a great comment, good job

The keys on this album are unbelievably AWESOME! Soooo much BUCKETHEAD, sooooo little time!
It's a Rorschach-test put to music.... BH paints the patterns in music...and you describe it.
That's why instrumental music is more fun, the story doesnt get dictated by some (shitty)Lyrics, Z best

This album is slept on, it's up there with the best guitar albums...maybe it's even the best??
But its not just guitar. Travis Dickerson solos on keys just a much on this album as Buckethead does. ❤

This may be his most cohesive 'concept' album that I have heard so far. Still early in my Buckethead journey, but this one stands out as superior IMO.
