I love how when before Bart does his elemental deathblows, it looks like his giving a thumbs up and saying, "Ayyye" like the fonz.
Bart = The best that ever was.
Had they been giving enough time to complete this game, I'd bet that this game would've rivaled ff6 in terms of overall performance. Sigh, the good ol days when JRPG's were on the top!

Whoever designed the deathblows for Rico seriously knows their puroresu.
Bart's whips made these deathblows so fucking badass.
Especially Angel is one of the best. Bart's Beast Mode.
only rico could have his own sound effects for his deathblows. THAT BEAST!!
Ether doubler + elly's gear = broken
Give her an ether doubler and you don't even have to spam it. She one hit kills almost every boss on disc 1.

Yeah Maria doesn't even have any deathblows but you're right her gear is a freakin tank.
@kilkolio: Rico is so slow it's painful. By the second time he's about to attack Citan has already gone 3 times.
I bought this used without an instruction manual, so I figured the four characters inside the case would be the only ones I got. I thought Rico might be temporary, so I stripped him of all his stuff first chance I got. Oops.

i know what you mean, it can be a pain starting again and it takes a lot of time but i played through xenogears multiple times, i forgot how many times but i never get bored of it, plus there are things i havent gotten or done in it yet like completing everyones deathblow combinations but this game is truly timeless for me. i dont play it all the time as theres other games i play but i still do play it when i want to

yeah this game is great in every way. its a treasure to have and keep, you should try playing it again to relive it
Too bad you can't use Elly at the end of the game. I always go with Fei, Bart and Citan
Sometimes I swap one or the other out with Emerelda.

@snookion899: That's not really true. When Elly's in a gear she's got the second strongest attack potential next to Billy, and even on foot she's very strong. One reason is because women constantly get special defensive equipment that guy's can't wear but is usually better which at times makes her defense high, and as long as you keep her in the newest weapon she's on par with Fei in terms of atk. She's a bit slow on foot, but her Gear AGI is 12 which is second only to Emerelda.
Maybe...but then, a prominence is also a a large bright feature extending outward from the Sun's surface, so they might just be named after the same source.

Wow! Elly's battle voices still stay japanese.
@Unknownost chu chu only stands out that she is the only char to be able to actually heal gear hp. great when you have Xenogears decked out in low fuel/hi def and hi whoopass equipment. game makes you choose between longevity and power. chu chu actually helps out quite a bit if you go the power route.

I kinda like Rico, mostly because he's made of awesome.
He's also Captain Falcon.
(NOTE: As i post this, I still in the giant plane hangar mission (first time to choose party members). Citan makes everything too easy, so I put Rico in instead.)
What are the best party members, for both battles?

yeah maria suck but personaly i think chu-chu is even worst.
Rico is probably the worst character to use in this game, even Chu Chu is better than him
