Sometimes when repairing geometry like that though, you can end up with muiltiple faces within the same set of vertices. You have to usually delete the face 2 or 3 times.
Would love to see this applied to some 3D-printable models! Import an .STL file with some intricate details, and repair all the holes. 3D models are a perfect candidate for needing to do this -- they're small, often have many faces to form curves, and sometimes have lots of unintended perforations, as far as SketchUp is concerned.
I'm having a hell of a time trying to repair 3D terrain. It would be wonderful to see a repair mesh video that talks about higher complexity meshes as one might see in an archetectural model.
I've noticed faces missing if i import a 3rd party model. something I heard, cant remember where though, is to import it in a much larger scale, like metres instead of mm which usually fills in the missing faces and then scale it back down with tape measure tool.
I have run into these issues and now I have some ideas for fixing them that I know will work better than what I have been doing. Thanks Aaron.

In this case, "Solid Inspector" helps a lot!
Thanks Tom Tom for this! ;)
Thanks Aaron, another great Skill Builder, particularly when you learn something, thanks.

Classic & awesome. Just solid piece of cake DUDE-----!? God blessed.

Stitching Yay! Thanks Aaron 😆
I, also, find it cathartic to manually repair broken geometry (when I t works) ;)
Oh, yes… I hum to myself and feel very relaxed while stitching up a broken mesh
Great to know how to fix this one.
Thanks that helped a lot again!
Could it be an idea to use solid tool to find the mesh in these cases? You have to know there are faults before you can repair them. :-)
Solid Tools work by combining or cutting solids from each other. It does not include any mesh repair functionality.
@@SketchUp No, but it DOES show where the hole is.
@@SketchUp Correct, but I assume that Solid Tools will show 'mesh' errors?
great video
Thanks so much for this video;)
I love the shirt :)
😊
extensions will do 🤪🤪
Which ones?
Thanks for making my life much easier!
