I am trying to model a site that is an irregular polygon and i have RL's for each corner - basically, i want to put an inclined plane over the whole site using the corner RL's as fixed reference points - then i can extrude the house plan upwards through the site to its specific RL. Is that something that Sandbox can do? Ultimately, i need to see the effect of shadows on surrounding houses and land.
Thanks Aaron, very helpful (as usual). I'm designing a house for a client and he has sent me a pdf file of the surveyors survey of the site - how do i get from that pdf to the contour lines you had at the beginning of this video?
My Achilles heel is upholstered products (sofas, chairs, etc.). I have searched TH-cam for a useful tutorial with no luck. It seems I could use sandbox tools to create "puffy" items. I would love to see you do a video drawing a realistic sofa using native tools.
Is there a way to create a ditch along the ordered mash? (I’m just playing with right now). I have ditch that’s sloped, one side 2feet deep the other side 6feet deep. I thought I must be able to Puch let say a cilinder shape into the mash, or a upside down (pulled out) trapezoid shape… to create a ditch with sloped sides…
Great Video! I was hoping to see a third example that would have creates a concave area in the block that the sphere would sit in. I'm a newb, so not even sure if that is possible!
Thanks. What I one day also hope to see is how to handle imported dwg files with coordinates Det far from origin. No-one seems to ever mention this obvious problem in SketchUp.
Thsi was a video to show how to create a mesh using the Sandbox Tools. It is intended to serve as an overview of how the tool works. Was a portion of the process that you thought was unclear?

Is there any answer to this?
Thanks Aaron, Looking forward to the next videos in this series.
Can not get from scratch to do a grid?
Thank you Aaron .. always find what am lookin for with you!

I now realize that I have to trace the pdf/jpg lines to create the contours in skp.
Where or how do we source the contours to practice on?
Hi there,
Where is the part two? I can not find it!
I think you can just hit the next button to the right of the pause/play button
Is this tool good for anything other than drawing landscapes? I tried to use it to draw a small concave/convex surface for an object I was drawing.

There is! Keep an eye out for the rest of this series as we will be covering just that topic in a future video!
Thank you Aaron, this is a kind of simple tools but really useful.

Great video. How do we do this on iPad.
Sandbox Tools is an extension, and only available in SketchUp Pro.
v helpfull thank you sir
I would like to see real examples of construction using the tool being studied. Thank you.
Cool.
great
Show process not only explaination
