Great video! You mentioned, "If you know which zone is going off or where the heads at you can shut down that zone." What if you don't know where the sprinkler head is going off? Could a person just quickly go in the fire pump room, shut down the fire pump, jockey pump and then the main valve on the discharge side of the pump to stop the city flow? Is that a safe and quick method to reduce water damage to the building?
I had an experience with a fire system in a “closed” industrial plant. I did a patrol around the complex saw a geyser spraying about 50 feet . All the buildings were surrounded with 4 foot drifts tough to get into building. Blindly found the shutoff valve secured it . Then went to pump building found the 500000 gallon supply tank 2 feet from empty entered the building the 800 hp diesel pump screaming . It took me 15-20 minuets to shut it down . I spent next three hours tracking down supervision to report it to. The system had been spewing water 8 hours because someone changed codes location . First shift didn’t know to do a full check due to misdirection . Wonderful supervision communication ….. NOT😅
Wish I knew that yesterday when the sprinklers went off at my job(Sam's Club) great video thanks 👍
