That’s exactly what I’m looking for. Most video I see just show how to change the head, but they didn’t include the riser part like you did. Thank you so much!
This is great news! I always wonder if I make these videos for nothing? Sometimes I feel like nobody even watches them. But I’m glad this one was helpful to a few people so far. Thank you for your nice comment. And thank you for watching. I hope all went well and I hope you got your fire sprinkler head changed out OK? it is kind of scary playing with a fire sprinkler system. Anyway, thank you again for watching. Thank you for your nice comment again and stay strong, strong and healthy. Bye-bye.
Yeah you were right. I wish there was more fire sprinkler videos out there too. It is funny that I watch fire sprinkler videos after I work all day on fire sprinklers. Maybe there’s something wrong with me? I don’t watch them all the time but every now and again I do. Thank you for watching and thank you for your nice comment MassStarBaiting. Cool name by the way.
@@JoyCool1 thank you haha. I actually do the same, however I watch to keep learning since I just work at a fab shop right now, only occasionally go to the field
God bless you for hauling around that little giant. Only time I ever use one of those ladders is when I’m working on a severely uneven surface. Other than that it’s stays at the shop.
Glad to help. you will be fine, just have a trash can to catch any water and make sure that there no pressure in system and you will do great! Thanks for your nice comments and thanks for watching dan hoch.
Good luck!! my boss told me one time that you’ll never be rich, you’ll never be poor, and you’ll always be somewhere different. I really believed he was right. Jim, I came across a main drain valve that had a test option (no inspectors test at far end of system). I’m stuck on how do you get the air out at the end in the system if there is no inspectors test to flush the air out?
Unfortunately, there is really no way to get the air out. They do make a relief valve that some people install. But I’ve learned to funny assistance like yours, but there’s no way to get to your house so you just leave it in there. Not a big deal, but seems like it would be. Good luck, Tom. M
On smaller buldings(~5000sq ft) will the shutoff that controls the faucets, shower, etc also shut the fire sprinklers off or is there always a separate riser?
On houses are residential building you could only have one shut off valve to the main house, which will shut off the fire sprinklers. But most fire sprinkler systems have their own control valve shut off valve and drain valve. Good luck.
@@JoyCool1 appreciate the quick response, after looking again I found the riser(~4in)and I got a good laugh that I had ever thought that was coming through the same pipe(3/4in supply line)
If the system is newer, as you say, and it does not have a “inspector’s test” drain, does one bleed the air out when recharging the system through the main drain which is right next to the main fire sprinkler riser? This doesn’t seem like it would properly bleed the system.
Nope. If the system has inspectors test valve at main riser you don’t bleed the air out. Weird right? Fire sprinkler system full of air? Not really. Water will find its way out FAST! Thanks for watching Torrque.
@@JoyCool1 Thank You for the reply, Mr Cool. But, after 2 laps around the building, I found the inspector’s test: INSIDE a back room!!! I guess I’m now ready to tackle this tomorrow!!
I guess you learned something every day. Thank you for teaching me something today. I’m never too old to learn. I’ve heard people do it both ways.
