    I work for a National fire protection company and sprinkler systems have to be tested Annualy. An OS&Y doesn’t have to be tested monthly. Some AHJs have different rules. I think New York is monthly, but that’s not because NFPA25. We do big commercial buildings. I was hoping u touched on UL listing and such.

    What type of valve is recommended for sprinklers in NFPA 13? : Butterfly or gate?
    What kind is recommended in the main pipe fire system? I mean to do maintenance operations or to close some main pipe system sectors? Butterfly or gate?
    Thanks so much for your support. Congratulations for your movies.

      I've seen both Outside Stem & Yokes as well as Butterfly control valves used on both sectionals as well as main sprinkler system piping.
      Most often in my experience outside stem & yokes are installed when supervision is not a consideration ( substituting the tamper switch with a lock and chain whereas butterflys often come with it's own wiring ready to be installed and tied back to the fire alarm control panel.
      It also depends if your valve comes pre-packed with it's own trim ( which most often is a butterfly valve ).
      Check with local authority having juristiction and nfpa 13/25 codes as well as manufacturer's instructions before installing.

    The alarm panel said Tyco dry system, but it's Reliable, am I wrong?

    • @NazeoAelkoNezen
      @NazeoAelkoNezen 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are correct, it is a Reliable valve, not a Tyco.
      It is either a 4" Reliable Model D Dry Pipe Valve, or a 4" Reliable Model E Wet Alarm Check Valve.

    You did well 👏👏👏
    Go ahead .
    BUT :
    OS & Y means ; "outside" stem & yoke . Not "open" stem & yoke .
