    I've tried culverts here in Maine and found about the same amount in the culvert as picking in the bedrock, on the same stream. Which is good in my opinion. The culvert is much easier to work! Im going to pick a culvert that really gushes during the spring melt.. Maybe that would pan out good.

    For all those intrested so I don't have to keep typing this out. The pan we are using in this video is a new design and a 3D printed prototype. We have been testing this for 2 months now and have not used a pan to date which has better recovery and efficiency.
    The pan is designed to capture the most amount of fine gold possible. There is no classifying required with or without the dam in place. A typical pan with this should take about 60-90 seconds max, although we have seen the same results in substantially less time. Over the course of the two months there have been slight adjustments to the design as well so the newer designs will be a bit different.
    We will be doing a review within the next week, in which we take the tailings from this pan verses a conventional pan and send them in for a SCR21 AAU assay for gold in the tailings. This is meant to tell what pan lost more gold. Stay tuned because you will be surprised!!
    The website for the company that makes this pan will be made live at the time of the review and we will post it in the videos description. Thanks for watching and happy prospecting!

      It's a new design coming to the market soon this is the first prototype, a 3D printed model, the one going to market will look a bit different. We are testing it for the company. Its designed to capture very fine gold better than a conventional pan. It's also more efficient. Well have a reveiw up in a week or so website will be avaliable then.

    Great adventure ! What is your opinion of the new style gold pan ?

    • @911mining
      @911mining  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Love it, its perfect for exploration. It's easy to fit in a bag, creeks can be super low and you don't have to search for a spot to pan cause waters to low, I think it's really good for fine gold recovery. It also generally takes 1/3 of the time to pan, no classifying needed. If your a veteran panner the side to side motions only is something you need to get used to, but it's by far a preferred pan of mine.

    Why aren’t you panning out the up stream sections of the culvert first? Like a sluice, if that’s how the culvert works, the heavies are going to be closer where the stream first enters vs the tail end where you guys are digging. ?

    • @911mining
      @911mining  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We did some of each area just to see how much was in each portion of the culvert.

    • @911mining
      @911mining  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's better for beginners who haven't used this style of pan before. It also helps for classifying all the small materials pass through the bottom the bigger stuff remains in the back of the pan and you can keep adding or scoop it out. As you go

      @@911mining then it looks like its being used wrong in the clip above. It didnt start with as much as youd start with in a 14" plastic pan, and still had to be concentrated. If you have a side by side video of someone proficient with a plastic pan, next to a person proficient with this pan, and a known quantity of dirt, and a known quantity of gold, and this pan is even 50% faster Ill buy three of them.
