    Gold panning isn't about getting money to me anyway it's about finding beautiful specks that have been under the care of the river for thousands of years and you are the first person in all of history to see this beautiful speck they each have a shape that is unique every speck of gold is a snowflake and one that will last forever if proper conditions exist

    While I've never panned for gold I do understand that it is typically heavier than the sand its in. My question here is how do you know that shoveling out handfuls of dirt like that you are not pushing gold out and back into the stream? There must be gold suspended in the mud that is getting brushed away.

    • @911mining
      @911mining  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Gold will stay suspended in your material, unless we shake and stratify the material on the shovel multiple times it will stay. Same concept as panning, if you put your material in a pan with water it won't all just drop to the bottom immediately it needs a little work to get there!👍

    • @911mining

      No it hasn't we are still looking it's a relatively newer creek which has formed in a canyon beside an older one. Bedrock is very shallow in most areas we hope we find the source soon.

    It would be useful if he showed where he dug the material from and how far down he went to get those sample pans. I he's gettin it near the surface and not on bedrock that's impressive! And if that is the case the placer may not have traveled far, the source vein(s) may be close by.

    • @911mining
      @911mining  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No more than 1-2 meters down there is bedrock in most areas, however some spots we can't find it. Gold can be found up to 10 meters out of the creek as well. The creek appears to be relatively new at the bottom of a canyon which is 20-30 meters wide at the base in most places. There appears to have been multiple small old creeks in the canyon from multiple sources so we are still trying to find a definate source. As this area is in a municipal forest reserve we have limited access. It can also only be staked as a mineral claim and not placer so we are limited in what we can do exploration wise.

      The Gold Rush in 1849, was not for the people who were wanting to come and pan or even slush the creeks and rivers. It was for people like my 4"th great Grandparents who came around the horn and set up a farm with a nice store and sold the vegetable and meat they raised as well as canned goods and some flour and sugar. The other set came overland with a saw mill and other things in their 4 wagons to be in business and my Grandmother was a seamstress as well. Both sets of Great - Grandparents were Smart enough to have known that people were not even thinking about food or other things just gold.
      THAT'S HOW PEOPLE KEPT THEM SELVES AND THE FAMILY ALIVE AND MY FAMILY ARE STILL ON THE LAND AND STILL DOING VERY WELL.
      FROM 4 came 8 and now we are over a hundred and we all still benefit from the first 4.
      Isn't the gold Rush wonderful.?😁👍😎

    How do you collect those little pieces?

    • @911mining
      @911mining  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Snuffer or tweezers sometimes. Usually take all the stuff back and pan all the fines at the shop. Most of the exploration we do requires assesment reports sent to ministry of mines for our exploration programs so we need exact measurements we also sometimes have the fines, black sands, sulphides ect. ..analyzed so it's sometimes it's easier to put the cons in sample bags and label them for further examination or processing.

      It's our job. We are an exploration company so we spend half the time on hired exploration programs and half on our claims. We make enough to pay the Bills....winters slow though...
