That looks fantastic, much better than the original cushion. It looks like real leather instead of the fake leather that you started with. Beautiful, I am ordering the kit for a bonded bed

You sound so genuine and did a great job repairing that cushion. I'm seriously considering getting a kit, bc even if i get a new on sale bonded leather chair, it's only going to peel again. I'd rather spend $50 or so and get a good, durable finish.

I actually used this in my buddy's old muscle car, he had a beautiful bench seat with an unfortunate hole in the leather. Fixed it right up

I have a 1989 Toyota MR2 with shiny black multi layer leather seats. The bolster on the driver's seat is peeling and cracking... And there are some small cracks in the business area of the seat... The proper portion of the seat is a perforated design with small holes in it. The vast majority of the seat has held up extremely well over the years but the area of the seat where the driver makes contact with it getting in and getting out of the car is showing some damage.
In one of your videos, you repaired a black multi layer jacket which looked nearly identical to the leather seats in my car. I hope you remember which video I'm talking about.
That's what "I think" I need for my repair. Please advise... TY!

You make it look so easy! Question: Is the sealer a permanent coating, like a clear dye or does it need to be reapplied every so often?

I bought the kit and had a lot of damage and wanted to change a light green to white color. Two things:
    1. Your bottle 'squirts' mine did not have that and it made it more challenging to get the right amount out -and I know I lost some of the dye to waste because of it.
    2. It took a LOT more dye to change the color - and I have to now order another bottle and it is expensive plus shipping. I've done at least 8 light coats and can still see some of the original color in areas.
    The filler is amazing!!!
    Now questions:
    1. I'd love to see a video where you show how to address the seams, or the areas where the arms touch the sides of the chair - how do you not get it to stick to each other?
    2. If changing colors, what is realistic for the amount needed?
I will say the footstool that is done does look very good.

Hello Nancy, thank you for contacting us however this post would be best served on a color change video.
Did your kit not come with our lock top cap for easy dye application?
Color changes usually take double the amount of dye because you are changing a color. HOWEVER you are changing the color to a LIGHTER color, which uses even more dye because you are trying to cover a darker surface with a lighter dye. That being said it definitely can be done using our products ( because we use the highest quality supplies and do not water our dyes down ) but you have to use THICKER coats of dye by dabbing them on. Wiping dyes makes then go on thinner and you need them to go on thicker with color changes by dabbing them on. Again changing the color from a green to a white is considered upshading and is a more complicated color change procedure due to the amount of time and coats required. If you can see the original dye color you require more coats. Its difficult to try and estimate how much dye you will need because it depends on the original color of the leather and the color you are trying to change to. All colors actually have different covering capabilities. Reds, greens and blues are considered translucent colors and will have reduced covering capabilities. When we perform a professional color change (www.LeatherRestorationSpecialist.com) to a 3 seater sofa from lets say a green to a white we may have to apply 4-5 coats of dye along with a protective topcoat and the cost would be $1800 - $2200 depending on the size of the sofa.
Yes our filler is amazing and strong!
Here is a link to a color change video th-cam.com/video/P6AopwTuYAo/w-d-xo.html showing you how flood the seams of the sofa and simply let them dry overnight and how to apply spacers using chopsticks so areas do not stick together- hope this helps and thank you for your comments and for choosing Leathertouchupdye.com!

I seriously had a heart attack when you started peeling the same as I did when I saw my kids peeling it off our ottoman!!😂 My question is, I am not sure mine was real leather?? It doesn't look like that under it. It is a woven material that isn't so solid?? And I paid the price for real leather so not happy if it isn't! Is there a way to fix it with something like this or should I junk it and buy new?? It is a large square ottoman/coffee table. Or pay to have it fixed professionally? These videos are amazing I am shocked! Thanks for any advice in advance!

What you probably bought was made of
"PLEATHER" looks and kind of feels like leather, till it cracks. You can buy kits that fix it (for a while) They use it a lot in cars, where the part you actually sit on is actually "REAL leather" and the rest is just pleather. They get away with this,
because they play with words. Like saying "Leather seats" seat meaning the small section you actually sit on. Pleather is best repaired by replacing the sections that have cracked. THOSE kits
really are just another way to relieve you of your money. First aid at best and last a week or two. Pleather is just another form of plastic or vinyl. It can't be mended, ..for long. To replace two side bolsters on my SRT/4 Dodge was going to cost $250 each, with the same crap. So I got the upholstery shop to replace
ALL the fake leather with real cloth. I'm done with DODGE and Chrysler

Around 30 years ago, I had a 1984 Nissan 300ZX. The seat bolsters started to turn yellow and crack. I complained to the dealer several times and was told that there was nothing they could do about it except to sell me new leather covers from the manufacturer at great expense. I made an appointment and waited over two months to see the Nissan Representative assigned to that area of the State. He refused to do anything about it! Well, lo and behold a year or so later I read about the situation in California, where Nissan conceded that they misled people with regard to the leather seating which we paid extra for. The government forced Nissan to replace all the leather seating, which was only partial leather seating free of charge. Clearly they did not want customers to be aware of this! I made another appointment to see the Rep. and brought the article to back up my claim. He folded and admitted that he was aware of the order. So, he offered to pay for new leather seat covers from Nissan, but I would have to pay for the installation. I refused and he folded. They will try to get away with anything possible. Nissan paid for the new leather and installation. As an aside, I once leased an Acura and complained to the dealer about the brakes squealing constantly. They said it can not be fixed. It drove me crazy. Two and a half years into my three-year lease, Acura launched a recall of the breaks for the same reason! They replaced the pads. The car was finally a pleasure to drive for the next six months until the lease was up. Better late than never.

These bonded leather seat products are the biggest rip-offs. There should be a class action law suit brought to the manufacturer/s of these bonded leather. They don't last!
    Good video though.
