03:18 Can the Nike Air Tech Challenge 2 Hold Up To The Modern Game?
As a foot doctor I look at tennis shoes and tennis shoe technology a bit differently as I focus more on what foot types benefit from these shoes as well as the tennis shoe's functional attributes on the tennis court
The Nike Air Tech Challenge 2 French Open Special Editions were filled with tech upgrades when the Nike Court Air Tech Challenge first released in 1990 but does this monster truck of a tennis shoe still hold up against newer, more tech advanced tennis shoes?
This Nike Air Tech Challenge 2 review focuses on its court performance as well as engineering and mechanics during the teardown and durability test portions of this tennis shoe review
This Nike Air Tech Challenge 2 performance review, playtest, and durability test takes a deep look into the shoes design, performance, tech, pros and cons, mechanics, durability and on-court feel.
Some of the main areas we cover in this Nike Air Tech Challenge 2 tennis shoe play test, and performance review were:
    - The weight of the Nike Air Tech Challenge 2
    - Durability features of the Nike Air Tech Challenge 2 tennis shoe
    - Breathability and upper materials of the Nike Air Tech Challenge 2
    - What foot types are good for the Nike Air Tech Challenge 2
    - How does the Nike Air Tech Challenge 2 play on the tennis court right out of the box
    - How does the construction of the Nike Air Tech Challenge 2 tennis shoe affect its performance on the tennis court
    - What are the features of the insole, midsole, and outsole of the Nike Air Tech Challenge 2 and how do they compliment the tennis player
    - Nike tennis shoe engineering and technology explained
    - What Nike put in the Nike Air Tech Challenge 2 to make it Andre Agassi’s signature shoe

I wish tennis shoe manufacturers would introduce more mid- and high-top models. The speed of the modern game calls for tennis shoes that stay on better and provide more ankle support. Thanks for reviewing this tennis shoe!

I agree, I’d love to see more mid and highs with todays tech like the stycon BOA- there is definitely a market for them

Got a pair of these in the hot lava colorway. Agassi is my tennis hero ever since I first started watching him with my father. They're definitely just casual shoes for me though, look amazing.
    Great content as always.

Thank you, yeah I think they look really cool to kick around in- playing in them, yeah I wouldn’t try it, but hopefully they continue to do reiterations of them throughout the years

I’m curious as these seem like a retro fashion release rather than a reissue of the old shoe. Lots of the basketball retros from Nike change the cushion and materials as they aren’t to be played in. Wonder if they had the same tech as the older originals

They claim it’s the same and the hard midsole with slight yellowing and upper would suggest its same materials

The shoe worn by Andre in the French Open has a modified midsole taken from the Nike Air Trainer 1. Another great video👍🏻

Hey Tennis Pro Doc! Hoping to see the Tech Challenge 20 soon! Would love to see if the new tech improved the shoe at all.

I’d like to see if they continue it into 2021, I’ve heard its going to get discontinued but I’ll keep my ear to the ground

That joke at the end is going on my all time top tennis jokes. As of right now it's ranked number 2.

I'm surprised these 2014 shoes have not desintegrated from age alone.

They are like armored tanks- the materials are just made to last a while- not so much perform on court though haha
