I have a 4yr old v90, had it 3yrs, faultless, comfy, spacious. Got all the toys, heated and cooled seats... absolutely brilliant. Eccentric maybe, but does everything I need and so much more, and stands out from the crowd.
Citroën C5X by far!! I have one C5X 225hp Plugin Hybrid and it is such an awesome car. Comfortable, technologically advanced and with an avangarde and distinctive design! ❤
I went with the Citroen c5x plug in, low bik and a very comfortable ride on our poor roads. Yes certain things could be improved, mainly the auto gearbox but the tech inside and out is fantastic and I love the design/looks of the car overall.
The lack of a square back V estate (such as older style V70, XC70) forced me to buy an new XC40 last year, but it's still too high for my dog to get in without me having to lift him, and he's 50kg 😢 so I will def be trading up to a new V90 in 2025
Seeing this new design I would definitely consider the Citroen looks wise and certainly over a BMW! The Citroens interior is very nice but those engine choices are a bit fluffy aren’t they? The Volvo for me is just what I prefer in this line up, although that infotainment screen setup is an absolute pigs ear of design in such a sleek minimalist vehicle, it looks like the ones in Minis! If it has all the features and functions well then fine but I’d just expect more from Volvo, I mean it just doesn’t fit the aesthetic of the vehicle at all.
Old style Volvo yes, but costly for the new ones. Never been a fan of French cars, I'll stick with my Subaru Outback Touring.....although new Skoda Octavia Estate also a good choice 😎😎
Back in 1997 I had a Number of Ford company cars Ford Orion then Sierra, on joining a new company they gave me a Citroen Xantia Diesel Turbo, the design was different, it had extremely comfortable ride and the engine was economical and powerful for the day, the only issue I had was seats gave me a bad back after 100 miles, howeverI missed the car when I was given a BMW 320 D ..
I choose the Citroën above all other boring looking heavy others. its really an incredible car and much cheaper to run than those posh but mondain looking German and Swedish cars.
Bought a brand new Citroen C5X plug in hybrid mid August and it developed an engine fault after only 400 miles. Left back to dealer on September 4th and still without it today October 25th. C3 on loan🙄
Left field? Volvo is literally the first place my mind goes to when thinking about estate cars. That V90 is actually going to be far cheaper than the Citroen when depreciation is factored in.

C5-X for sure...but the hybrid one with 225hp!

Great review
Why did Volvo drop the vertical rear window and sacrificed rear load space, looked far better too.
Want the look and inside of the Volvo but with the Famous Citroen Suspension and a BMW straight 6 diesel engine . that’s the ideal mix for me
