I recently wrote a short piece upon hearing of the passing of a friend which attempted to use thatkind of displaced bass to point out how there was something now out of place in the world, but trying to push forward to harmonic resolution just as I was trying to come to terms with that day's news.
This is what I tell my students, "If you think any one work is easier than another, then you're not putting in enough emotional effort when performing."
I’ve learned never to underestimate Bach! There is profundity in his simplicity. And I love the way you distinguish playing the music from playing the notes.
You know, one inconvenient in talking permanently three languages - unfortunately English is only the third for me - consists in the fact, that one has to learn as much different approaches and terms as languages he speaks. So sometimes it happens that I mix up the languages, where a flat in German is a b and in Italian a bemolle. I hope you can forgive those errors with the same ease you found them in my video. 😊
It's not "Cadenza" - It's "Cadence". A Cadenza is an improvised part in for example a concerto. A cadence is one of several types of harmonic closures.

I'm sorry for your loss. But it's good to hear you found a musical way for the memory of your friend. 😌
Great lecture as always! I like the analysis and interpretation.
Thanks Michael, happy to hear that. 😊
Thank you for sharing! 👏
Welcome!!! 🙂

That's another important point, indeed!

Thank you!
You're welcome. :-)

It's not "B 9" - It's "Flat 9" The little "b" is a read as "flat".

Thank you for your precision. Cadenza in fact is the Italian word for cadence. :-)
@@joachimgeissler614 Yes, but you are speaking English :) Anyway, only trying to help!
That's kind of you. Thanks. 😊
Dull and boring
Well, I like the Sarabande very much, just as all the suite. ;-)
