The allemande in this suite is one of my favorite pieces, and she plays it perfectly - not too fast, giving it room to breathe. Mark of a great musician (not just a great player).
I have no expertise at all; i do not know this wonderful woman. But, Johann Sebastian is one of my dearest. I am not superstitious, but, Evangelina is just the best motto for your performance, my dear Signora Mascardi. I am listening to you time and again at the feet of the Pirineos. Thank you ! You are the best argument against suicide.

What a difference it makes to the musicality hearing this on lute vs guitar. The bass notes end up creating a sort of duet with the melody due to the 8va up tuning of the courses. Very cool!
I find solace in the intricate details of classical compositions. The nuanced phrasing, the subtle crescendos, and the delicate pauses create a mesmerizing experience that allows me to escape into a world of beauty and artistry. 🌺🎶

I've listened to J. S. Bach's music for nearly all of my life, and I'm 70, and played music for several decades ("classical" guitar, although that's a complete misnomer), and to me Bach's music sounds like talking, like a conversation. No other music I've ever heard or played strikes me like this the way his music does.
@@antiv Yes, his music has always sounded like that to me, especially his organ music. There is a fairly minor work by him which I will confess at the outset that I can no longer remember (and I haven't owned a recording of it in many decades) that sounds for all the world to me like an argument between two people. It really is amazing. But that's what contrapuntal music really is: different voices crossing each other, sometimes harmonizing and sometimes clashing. But the subject is the same, and so it's like a conversation or an argument.
I felt the same way when I went to see a performance of Chopin, the left and right hand were two different people conversing. Now I am sitting here drinking my coffee in ultimate bliss trying in vain to digest every note. I am just a grain of sand swept away by the waves of Bach moved by a masterful musician.

I've recently discovered this artist and I wanted to thank you for bringing these wonderful recordings of Bach to our attention. The artist is truly the master of Lute. This music calms my heart, i've been listening to it all day. Truly well done!
Absolutely beautiful. (and the playing isn’t too bad either.) Seriously, this is fantastic! I’m a guitar player, can’t even begin to play this stuff, but I love to listen to it. Herr Bach wrote some of the most advanced music the human race has ever created. The counterpoint, the voice-leading, the modulations-unbelievably brilliant. And Ms. Evangelina plays beautifully. I stopped playing guitar for around 8 years, but recently picked up my classical and was surprised that I could remember how to play basically all the songs I knew (as well as bits and pieces I made up myself), even if the muscle-memory/dexterity suffered a bit.
As a lover of Bach ( I'm an organist , and he wroted loads of music for organ ) I say this woman are exceptionally good . Her interpretation of Bach's music is outstanding 🏆🏆🏆

I really appreciate the subtle phasing and pace in Evangelina's interpretations of Bach. Bach's music is cerebral yet played with sensitivity is also full of emotion. And Evangelina does a beautiful job with her flawless playing. A true artist!
