  • Known as one of the most beautiful throws in Judo, the UDE GAESHI uses the momentum by spinning underneath the opponent to force him roll, get the points and eventually, the armbar at the end of the move. Learn how to do it with Ben Wheeler, black belt at BRAVOS BJJ in Perth Australia.

    There are safer ways of doing ude gaeshi....
    This dangerous variation will end up fucking up your partners shoulder.

      @fartpunch3937 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Could you provide an example of a safer variation?

      @@fartpunch3937 th-cam.com/video/JZmjuTtZ3pY/w-d-xo.html Notice how tori stays "inside" uke, in other words, tori keeps her upper body in front of uke, instead of going to the outside.
      When the upper body goes to the outside, that's when shoulder injuries happen. You can see at 0:23 of this video th-cam.com/video/JZmjuTtZ3pY/w-d-xo.html what happens when the upper body goes to the outside of the opponent, instead of staying inside.
      So basically in order to safely do ude gaeshi, your body needs to stay in front of your partner, instead of going to the outside. It's when your body goes to the outside that your partner's shoulder gets injured. That Ude Gaeshi compilation video shows a variety of ways of doing the techinque, some more dangerous, some safer.

      @@64wy4x8s It's a subtle difference but I think I understand. I'm a bigger guy and am always looking to incorporate judo into my BJJ game. I'd hate to mangle someone's arm by accidentaly performing a dangerous maneuver when a safer alternative is available. Thanks for the link and the warning.
