    2 quick questions.
    1. Can you cook with the lid closed?
    2. What’s the condition of the cooktop after 4 months?

    • @griddlecookeatandmore
      @griddlecookeatandmore  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      They say not to cook with the lid down. This griddle will get up to 600 degrees. As far as the top I have not used it a whole bunch. I made my initial videos with it and then a put it my camper. I had a E series electric griddle from Blackstone and it lasted awhile but the non stick will eventually wear off. I'm hoping since I won't use it on the daily I will get some life out of it.

    I really want one for me shop and fishing. Just cooking for 2 people this is the perfect size but that teflon top is a deal breaker. Wish they would come out with a small fold up 2 burner like this but with a normal top.
    Hopefully one of the other brands will cut blackstones prices and come out with a better one.

    Great video, thank you.
    Interested in this because I hate dragging my 22 around in my 5th wheel. Just so big and heavy especially with its stand. Think I will try this for a year and see how it does.
    I would love for BS to make a smaller camper version like the 22. 18" dual burner maybe.
    We tried the 17 but trying to cook on it was horrible. The little single burner just could not keep up in the outdoors

      I have a 25 foot travel trailer and does not have much outside storage but I can definitely make this griddle fit so I don't have to bring a grill with me every time. I hear it gets hot. I'm going to fire it up tomorrow and test it out. I just wish it had a steel top but as in the video there is a big difference in weight. I forgot to mention that they are a Walmart exclusive and sold in the camping isle. Thanks for watching.

    Nice review. New Subscriber. I just picked one of these up at our local wallyworld. I guess I got lucky, only one of these on the shelf. Must be selling well! Haven't tried it out yet, but we'll see how it goes before long! I'm hoping the non-stick surface holds up, but I'm probably just going to use it on camping trips, so it won't be abused much. Seems like it should be easier to clean up and care for than a traditional griddle. Probably throw a few burgers on it, next sunny day we get! Hope you get good life from yours. Enjoy!

    Good review and comparison to the BS 22". Liked the weight comparison. Hopefully if the coating does not have a good life, Blackstone will offer replacement tops reasonably priced. Love my 22", dislike the size and weight to drag along in the RV.

      I love the concept of this grill except for the top. I see why they did it due to weight. I hope the top is improved over the E series top. Time will tell on it. I'm getting ready to fire it up for some breakfast. Thanks for watching.

    • @griddlecookeatandmore
      @griddlecookeatandmore  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Besides the size the biggest difference is the Camp Griddle has the non stick top and the 22 has the steel top you season. The non-stick top will eventually wear off over time. The steel top you can always take it down to bare steel and re-season. The cool thing about the camp griddle is how compact and portable it is. You just have to decide what is the best fit for you.

    • @griddlecookeatandmore
      @griddlecookeatandmore  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The safe bet would be yes. From my experience with the E series the no stick does not last. Put Boss makes a ceramic gas griddle and from what I hear it does not last either. I love the concept of the griddle and using it solely for camping I think I will get a longer life out of it because I won't use it as near as much as my E- Series. I bought it because it's compact in size and design and for the sake of making a video. If I did not have the money to blow I would definitely not have bought it. But to be fair to Blackstone let's see how it last.

    How is your tool set holding up with it? I got the same set and it appears to have melted the edge after one use… i love the griddle but am pretty disappointed with the nylon tool set thats supposed to be made for this griddle. Just am curious if my issue is a one off or if i should look at some silicone tools for it since theyre heat resistant. Thanks and keep the videos coming!

    Weber just came out with a 17 and 22 " portable griddle. Its like double the price but blackstone seems to be flimsy and low quality. Weber has no doubt quality products.

    • @griddlecookeatandmore
      @griddlecookeatandmore  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I saw those and your right Weber is definitely better quality. The best thing about this griddle is how compact it is. If I didn't have a TH-cam channel I would not have bought it because of the aluminum non stick top. I will say this thing has great heat and cooks great but non stick does not last forever. I'm working on fabbing a steel top for it so that should be interesting. Thanks for watching.

    • @DoritosResidue
      @DoritosResidue 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @griddlecookeatandmore yeah definitely that's one thing about weber. They have trouble making thier "portable products" compact. I have the weber traveler propane grill and that thing is far from being portable. It's more of a stationary grill that can be easily moved around if kept in a backyard. That thing packs too big and the packing shape is not practical. I have 2 weber go anywhere so those are compact and portable. But man I'm really liking the weber portable griddle. But currently there are zero reviews about it.

    I am sorry, but this is not the great review everyone keeps telling you. All you did was compare it to your 22". I already know that 22 inches is 2 inches longer than 20 inches. You didn't cook anything. You didn't even fire it up. Did I miss the part where you connected the regulator to the grill and attach the bottle? Maybe next time?

After that video I posted a video making a smash burger on the camp griddle using a accessory hose to connect a 20 pound tank. If you want to see how it sears a steak just watch the video after the smash burger video.
