Great.Video - you struck the key points right on the head in the voicing: deep articulate bass, smooth midrange, and just enough highs. Never fatiguing. I’m so happy to hear that so many people love the sound of these speakers. Thomas and I worked really hard to voice them just perfectly right. When speakers are voiced correctly, they work for all genres.
The synergy of your $4k Melody preamp and the TS A75 must be fantastic too. The synergy of the TS A75 and both TS Voyager and TS Voyager TL is really good, and I am glad you got to experience it.
Hell yeah !! As you know I pushed the Voyagers to the limit ! I have rolled many amps and for pricepoint Audiolab pairs up very very good !! And of course the TS120 ' And the TS-A75 is not a giant killer but the God killer ' 5 preamps so far Galion making a huge statement ! Thanks Loki !
I love this review because it highlights synergy which all too often gets overlooked. I look at reviews often. You FAR too often see a review of (let’s choose an amp) as if the amp operates in isolation. FAR too little of review are spent on discussing what might be a good match for the amp which is what we all should really care about. I bought the A75 recently and am waiting for its arrival. The reason why it was chosen is simple: my tweeter is a compression horn and I am betting that the A75 is the best reasonably priced SS amp that would compliment a horn. End of story. For $1500, I could get more power than the A75. I could get one with “better” specifications (for what that is worth). But nothing but the A75 stood out as potentially a great match with my speakers, especially for the price. My best guess is that, if the A75 is replaced at some point in the future, it will be replaced by a much more expensive tube amp because tubes and horns have great synergy with each other and that synergy might be better than the synergy between the A75 and my horn speakers. It always comes down to synergy which simply cannot be overlooked and its importance cannot be overstated.
I own the Voyagers... and you are so right on stands and placement...These are not your Dads plop and play speakers...You need to listen to them talk to you (kinda like being married..lol)...Once they are where they want to be........Bliss.
The TS A 75 is everywhere in the reviews. This is such a solid amp! I watch reviews on this transmission line speaker offering from Thomas. The mental hurdle is the small size of the driver. From every review I’ve watched or read? It delivers! Even I wonder what would happen if Thomas installed a Solen D 6.8 or a Purifi driver. I guess it simply doesn’t need one. From all reports it’s perfect the way it is.

I have an Elekit 8900 300b connected to my 20 year old PMC TB2+ transmission line standmount speakers... It can sound very surprising, sublime, dynamic, dare I say.. Righteous :)
The 2A3s...I have JJs, were not working too well as the PMC although rated 90db + 8ohms were designed for more current and the 300Bs work surprisingly well. But I changed the driver tubes from 12AU7s to 12BH7s and they boost the gain enough to work with the 2A3s and for the first time I could hear the linearity of the 2A3s.... With higher sensitivity speakers it would really come alive.. For now, aI prefer the extra power and detail on my 300Bs... But think about a speaker change 🤔
@@LouisPB1 You have some nice speakers 👍My Triangles also have same impedance/dB spec and very much agree on driver/input tube integration. Both the 2A3 and 300b amps I have use 6SN7's as drivers, so getting the best out of both variations and their distinct SQ is plain sailing.
Nice video. I’m a schit fan but trying to find other brands/combos that inspire a good feeling more than measurements. Trying to find an emotional connection. Example… my vidar’ s in mono with the Kara pre to Lintons are great and accurate, but unemotional. I run two g’horns in mono with a topping pre/dac to q acoustics 3030i’s. That combo brings me emotion and pure enjoyment. Sounds like you’ve found a similar combo.
Thinking the LRS plus is still the best value speaker you can buy as it rivals the ultra high end speakers in certain areas and its transparency is legend. Its usd 995 but there are limitations as in everything.. The recommended system looks to be very interesting as Thomas is an experienced audiophile by now. And this has got to sound really good. Cheers.
TL speakers are rare birds. Small affordable ones pretty non-existent in the current market. Thanks for the heads up. I need to hear this speaker as my TL experience has been based on massive Innersound hybrid electrostatic speakers. I'd like to hear me some TL magic on this smaller scale. Assuming from your comments on how well this design works, I would expect a very impressive experience...maybe even jaw-dropping?

Did you find the mids like the smaller TS Voyager speakers? They are soooo smoothe. You might have just sold me to try these out vs. my SE400s with upgraded capacitors. That's just kinda crazy, these speakers are what, half the cost of the S400s? Wow 😮
I'm sure they're great speakers. But at first look, I thought they were Polk T15's. Then I noticed the big slot port. Ignore that slot port, and they're a dead ringer (not acoustically) for the T15
Loic, What kind of streamer/renderer are you using in front of your DAC? What software are you using to send the signal to your DAC? (lately I tried Audirvana to my streamer - UPnP connection. it really improved the sound!)
I got here because Thomas provided the link. I’d buy the TS A75 and this set of speakers but I have 2 considerations: 1. Shipping to Singapore and 2. I don’t know if it’ll work well in my place. I am a headphone users and my current favorites are the Hifiman Susvara, Sennheiser HD800S, ZMF Atrium and the new Raal Immanis.
I would be curious to hear that. Might make for lighter bass, and maybe a good option for small rooms. But I cant say really. Haven’t had a brio in 10 years+
