- Music that touches your heart and sould and does so without fuss or restraints. Without complex audiophile parameters. I bet these age like a good acoustic guitar. Sharing my thoughts with an Omage to Harley Lovegrove and the @PearlAcoustics group and channel.

@@CarlVanDoren61 credit where credit is due… that driver would not work in dipole. So bring on the real wood box

This is very entertaining and informative. It took some work to get this done and you absolutely did it. Props !
Hall of Fame Status🎶👌🏽🔥🎶 I think I would love the Sibelius too. Such a GREAT video, fun, entertaining, true to point👏🏼👏🏼 and Harley is a gem 💎
What can I say? Your alternative universe is scarily similar to mine - and yet different! 😄 I had tears of laughter watching 'Charley' in action! Now me, being me, I have to remain precise and yet polite, so to that end I can indeed answer some of the points you raised (I numbered 10 in total):
1. Jean Sibelius, the Finnish composer died (in my universe) in 1957.
2. Six feet equals 1.8288 (followed by 8 zeros and a 7) Meters.
3. Just like any musical instrument, the structural characteristics of a room will have a significant influence on the Sibelius, according to where it is positioned in the room. I liken this to a cello, there is always a sweet spot where a cello's sound becomes full, without being 'boomy' or muddy'. To this end the Sibelius loudspeaker is no different. However, the density of its extremely thick enclosure, allows it to perform even right up against a back wall. So 'yes' there is usually no need to bring it more than 2-4 feet into the room. Experimentation is the rule of the game here. As you discovered, with some patience, a very realistic, 3 dimensional soundstage and tonal depth and definition can be achieved. Well set up, they should remain detailed with bass notes easily going down to 36-38Hz. In one set up we measured 15Hz!
4. 'SG' stands for Silver Grey and 'CG' stands for Copper Gold.
5. Your demonstration of how to lift and move the Sibelius loudspeaker was marvellous. I would like to use it show our customers 🙂
6. Indeed, we find that in most rooms, having the Sibelius loudspeakers on their stands, improves bass definition, plus it protects them from being kicked, bashed by vacuum cleaners and damaged by minor floods (although they should float in extreme cases)!
7. As soon as we have a full production version of our 170 Tube amplifier, you will be the first to receive it for review (not sure quite when it will be yet).
8. The reason that some heavy rock does not sound as good as one might hope, I think, is because there is an amount of distortion that is captured in the recording that is usually not audible in most systems. This is one reason why, with the Sibelius, clear audible differences can be easily detected between amplifiers, and yes, even cables! The Sibelius simply reproduces the signal it is given. The strange thing is that they sound really good with Reggae, which might seem unlikely to some? So its not a bass issue (I think). Having said that, some bass heavy systems distract away some of the harshness that maybe the issue here. Great recorded rock like (Dire Straits for example, sounds fine to my ears).
9. The colour of your Sibelius loudspeakers is 'dark cherry'. But as each batch of oak and stain can vary, there can be visual differences between one pair and another. Each pair is unique, that's why we photograph every pair we make in great detail, so our customers can accurately see their loudspeakers before shipping. Current Cherry production, tends to be a bit redder. That's why you might see your pair as looking more like a medium oak.
10. Thank you very much for this very funny, informative and insightful video Loic. I am humbled by you, and the effort it must have taken to make it. It is much appreciated by me and the Pearl Acoustics team. Thank you! Best wishes from Belgium, which is in the heart of my universe. If you are ever travelling my way - you will be my guest of honour!
Wow! I am honoured you took the time to write this feedback. Everyone can benefit from this information. Harley, thank you. I hope I didn’t scare anyone into thinking I was “making fun of”, this was entirely out of admiration. Homage!
Well done. I can’t believe you did this for 30 minutes straight. You should be an actor/comedian.
You see Mr. Giamatti, people do recognize you :-)
Nicely done. Entertaining and informative in a good balance.
Loic you are great!

I agree, he's brilliant. I didn't even know he was doing this!
LMAO your re-do of a Harvey Lovegrove video IS SPOT ON LOLOLOLO. GOOD JOB!!!

LOL you delivering Harley’s impression + “his intro”…
Hysterical! Keep it up, man! Oh, and nice review too.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I bet, Harley will get abdominal spasm after watching your video😂
I hope he doesn't see this. ;)
He has seen it…. 🤪😎
I think he will like it
@@albiepalbie5040 you're absolutely right - I loved it! 🙂
@@hificave I sure have!
HiFiCave: I have watched so many of Harley's videos that I cannot stop laughing while watching your intro! The Sibelius are absolutely excellent speakers for acoustic instruments.
He was amazing wasn't he! Thanks for the kind comment
LOL !! fabulous 🤣😂 you had me in stiches for 20 min! (love Harley...)
Love Harley too.
@@hificave Thanks Guys - I am very humbled!
Ha! You nailed Harley, in the kindest way. I hope he gets a kick out of your review and impersonation.
OMG this is brilliant, I was killing myself laughing from the intro, absolutely over the top! Well done sir! As for the Sibelius, I love the concept and the passion, craftsmanship and dedication to bringing these to market. I would love to say that I also like the way they sound, but have not had a good initial impression. Your review does make me hungry to hear them again, maybe I have to find that portal and visit the alternative universe where Harley has a beard on his head.
Hi, if you ever break through the portal - I would love to demo them to you ;-) Best wishes!
@@PearlAcoustics I would love a better demo of the speakers! I am travelling soon, possibly through the portal so I will be in touch.
Hahah this is fantastic and I love how the accent travels around the world 😂
Love it!!
Thanks! 😃
Does this universe have Sugden amplification? Let’s hope so! 👍
😳😳🤪
You even got the pauses in speech right. Nice job.
Hahahahha thanks
he was brilliant! He does me better than me 😂
I 100% believe you are right with you Sibilius assessment, the trouble is I would just never put a speaker with a small driver into my house, as I would never get a car with miniture wheels, however amazing that car might be, tiny wheels is a complete no-no.
I get it man.
Only 20” and spinners for you! 🎉 Pimp your ride ❤😅
@@TD05SSLegacy I am just not into Bonsai, once the presence of 15"+ drivers are experienced it's near impossible to go tiny again.

Haha! 😂 Well played, sir….
lHarley knows his stuff. Would love to hear the Sebelius
I’m guessing you spent as much time studying Harley’s mannerisms as you did listening to his speakers. Brillant video.
😄Absolutely brilliant Love the accent
Thank you! 😃
Funny…good thing you love the Sibelius, otherwise you might get shamed off the air! The Sibelius is top of my “I want next” loudspeaker. Is there ever an end? 😢😊
If there was, we would all sit and listen and nobody would be on youtube?
Hmmm that sounds nice.
Good one 🙂
Given they're made from solid wood I wonder if or when they'll start to crack.
In any case I agree the speakers have something you don't find elsewhere.
Like a guitar, it needs to be kept in a balanced environment. Exposing it to high fluctuations of heat, cold , humidity or very dry conditions can make wood crack.
Hi good question. Because the oak we use is very slow grown and very slowly aged, and because of the way it is cut and made (plus its thickness) in theory, if looked after sensibly, it should never crack. If it ever did, it would be a very easy fix for any skilled carpenter.
Bwahahahahahaha killing it 😂❤
Your universe uses British units where my universe uses metric/SI units. You spoke Miniun accent.
Ok a real question for either universe. Could you comment ( or make a comparison video) between this speaker and the Macario by Maco? These 2 speakers have risen to the top of my list for future purchase. I heard the Macario at Axpona but don’t have a way to listen to these, at least in my universe.
… let me reflect on that.
Probably your best review ever 💪🫵🤡👍
Probably! 😎
Also k nown as a box, something foreign to the cave's environment for many centuries in the hogs dimension!
Like fire….
HaHa! Excellent.
Okay, okay, I initially thought you were going to diss the main man Harley, but no you pulled this off. Absolutely brilliant video. The Brit accent wasn’t too bad, though we don’t all speak like Harley😅 Very enjoyable 🇬🇧
Harley, is a person I admire and respect. I have spoken to him on a few ocasions. This was done out of our respect and admiration. Omage, is misspelled even in french for Homage.
