I’ve been waiting for you to do this video. My favourite cocktail 😊 Thank you. I’m definitely going to try the white chocolate combo and the banana. I’ve got a friend coming Friday night for a glass of wine. Stuff the wine, I’m off to the supermarket for some freshly pressed pineapple 😃
Yeah reviewed that. It’s nice, but I’m lucky cos I’ve got loads here, and Duppy Spiced didn’t really compete with the others ive got. Check out my other Spiced Rum channel.
My Piña Colada recipe is: 2 Plantation 3 Star 2 Pineapple Juice 1 Coco Lopez 1/4 Lime Juice 1/8 (1 bar spoon) of Giffard Orgeat Frappe with a glass of crushed ice.
Juice... honestly... Supermarket own 100% stuff. Doesn't matter which Supermarket. But the Chilled Juice aisle...ANY juice thats 100% Pressed or Squeezed! For example, the Tesco's Pineapple juice knocks spots off Del Monte etc cos it's just 6 Pressed Pineapples. No Concentrate, nothing... just 6 pineapple gone through a Juicer! But make sure you're in the CHILLED JUICE aisle... not the Long Litre Cartons.
Steve, absolutely loved this video! You have inspired me (as always) to start playing with my pina's! I'm gunna ask my suppliers over here about Kalani and see if I can source it - I wanna try it!! Great video, great editing, great insperation!
Thanks Steve great video. I've binge watched your videos over the last few days! Do you think Coconut Liqueur could work in place of the Coconut Syrup in each of these recipes, or would it be too strong?
Look, anything will work. BUT, for a decent PC, i think you do need a bit of body to it. Like a Purée or a Syrup. Some Texture. If deffo wouldn't be too strong, but it may be too thin if no syrup/puree is used
Steve the bartender shows you how easy it is to make home made coconut puree. Just like cooc-lopez or coco-real. Plus far cheaper than coco-lopez/real and no preservatives.
Just play about. I mean that PC is pretty much standard, but everyone has a different palate these days. So if the basic recipe is too coconutty, then simply dial back the coconut! Plus, don't forget, different brands will push out different flavours. There's a huge difference alone between the Reál, ODK and Monin Coconut Purées. Thats without going down the Coconut Syrup rabbit hole!
Yup. Try it. The only thing is that the Alpro may not be as coconut forward as you’d like. Try it. If you like it, awesome. Example…I know the Tesco Coconut Milk (Alpro alternative) is more Coconut forward than Alpro. 👍
I prefer Coco Lopez over Réal. It's not as sugary. I add some white rum to it and keep it refrigerated and it lasts a long time. I can't get ODK in Chicago and their online store isn't not working for me and emails bounce back. I'll keep trying. I want to try their orgeat.
Cool…do you mean like the 1l cartons?! Not the Tinned Coconut Milk?? (Some supermarkets Do a Coconut Milk and Coconut cream in Tins…it can get really confusing! 🤣)
@@StevetheBarmanUK yes the carton; mind you, this is just IMO as I hate the tinned cream stuff in drinks ( I think it coats the tongue) and I'm not a fan of the the milky tin stuff.
Haha. That’s exactly why i don’t use it. 👌 interestingly though, I tried the Alpro, wasn’t massively impressed. Never really thought to try supermarket ones, cos I thought Alpro would be the better ones. Might have to get a Tesco one.

@@StevetheBarmanUK Thanks :)
oooo i'll take the DMF, always wanted to try it!! 🤣
DMF...the Coconut?? If so, honestly for the Price, start on Koko Kanu. It's better...and normally cheaper.
Wouldn't adding milk to pineapple cause the milk to curdle?
I have just orderd some Coco Real, do i just use instead of sugar sryup and milk.
Yup... Just adjust to taste! But its a great product!
@@StevetheBarmanUK Is there a certain amount you can recomend for the base recipie, i have all the products you use now :)

Love the videos Steve. Is it possible to make coconut syrup with coconut water and sugar?
Yeah, that’s all the Coconut Purees are. They’ll just add stabilisers etc to make them long life.
Cheers Steve.
Your standard Pina Colada recipe is tasty. A little too coconut flavored and not enough pineapple. Gonna try Plantation Stiggins Fancy next time.

@@StevetheBarmanUK I made Pina Coladas for friends. They loved them. A tad less coconut syrup. Thanks!
I’d of liked to of seen you use the purées
Why?
So steve could i do:
• Coconut rum
• Sugar syrup
• alpro coconut milk /cream
• lime juice
• pineapple juice

Cheers Jorge!! 👍👍
Asda coconut milk is great - very creamy and coconutty - bit of sweetness but nowhere near as sweet as alpro soya coconut
