Perhaps the craziest thing about Rodrick’s 152mph serve was that it was only the second serve of the match. There first serve he hit of the match was 142mph.
Roddick only 6 foot 1 as well. Insane serve. Most of the other fastest servers are 6 foot 4 to 6 foot 9. Benjamin Becker might even be more impressive as well at 5 foot 10 dropping a 142 bomb!
You will that Roger is the only who actually returned the serve. In the 2007 SF Roddick hit a 147mph and Roger returned it right at Roddick's feet just after he landed from serving.. I remember McEnroe saying something like, "Has anyone ever done that to Roddick's serve...other than Roger?"
With today's space age tennis rackets pretty much anyone who plays at a decent competitive level can hit upward of the 130's- the pros just can do it more consistently and accurately... 152, though, that is truly insane!!!
I click on the video and think "Ok, Federer is not gonna be in this one. He has had amazing game, but ultra powerful Serve was never his thing"... 1:51 into the video Federer dogwalks that return back to the server like it was a 60mph serve, and he is so not expecting it that he yanks it out.
Yes, but this video is supposed to show the fastest serves during men's singles games at the US Open. Sam Groth's 163.4 mph serve was recorded in Busan, South Korea.
@@NotSettlingForSecondBestSame with Federer, he had the weakest serve in terms of power compared to the other two, but he was unreadable and had immaculate placement, and he also knew when to fire aces during a match.
Who cares about serve speed when you have deadly precision and accuracy like Novak's serve. He's undoubtedly the greatest server of all time even without one of the "fastest" serves. Shows how pointless that stat is.
Federer casually returns 147mph😂
He had a lot of experience after playing Roddick so much in the first half of his career.
I too was laughing on that 😂😂
@@Alllex Also a bit of skill and talent.
And casually stopping the ball and perfectly hitting it to the ball child on the other side without looking 😊
@@tiesb1212 That "testing the kids" was nasty. I loved when they would casually catch it with a poker face 😆
The only takeaway from this vid is that Feds a beast
152 mph is legitimately insane
He also did the same in 1R vs Jenkins
"I thought it was well out, actually"
"No one saw it.." 😅😅
1:51 Federer returns and wins the point
Federer had one of the greatest return in the game.
Slow court

Federer returning the 147mph serve and winning the point like it was a regular occurrence 😭
Man that Roddick’s serve is gigantic
Crazy even after all these years with the advancements in racquets guys still haven’t broke Roddick’s fastest serve at the US Open
what advancement? its still graphite and poly
Because racquets haven't advanced at all. It's all marketing fluff. Gut strings have been around for 150+ years and they're still the best as well.
@@operation2096 Then why do all the top players on the tour play with synthetic or hybrid...
Andy Roddick first serves and aces are wicked 🎾 🔥

yes i remember that. i think this list is the fastest of each person.
Nadal was like “nahhh just going to get out the way of that one”
Isner and Ljubicic' serves are most lethal, their ball placement just near the center line.
Taylor "in the backboard making a huge" DENT
I miss federer’s night sessions
What's insane, is that Federer seems to be reacting to the ball as it shoots from the strings, not guessing. Looks like he has a lot of time.
@1:51 As always, Fed's big serve neutralizing skills are absolutely insane.
I've hit and received a few 130mph serves and they feel impossibly fast, I can't even imagine what another 20mphs would be like
What’s the highest you’ve played at? I think the highest I’ve ever tried returning is 100, couldn’t even fathom another 10 mph lol
With today's space age tennis rackets pretty much anyone who plays at a decent competitive level can hit upward of the 130's- the pros just can do it more consistently and accurately... 152, though, that is truly insane!!!
With how long Ivo Karlovic played, I’m surprised he never broke 142mph at the US Open.
Of course the only one returned is by Federer 💪
0:21 Rusedski
That serve from Taylor made a Dent in the wall.
Living up to his name lol
So Federer has most power serve return🐐
Maestro is the only one that got it back! Federer forever

Saw Becker hit one of his boomers at Agassi at a Davis Cup match, and he saw the ball pass him faster by Agassi’s return…
Moral of the story: Some Americans did served hard
Roddick's serve was definitely in. Those announcers don't know what they're talking about. Can't tell if that's Nadal or Moya.
Ofcourse Roddick had to take the top spot! Nadal was like "wait I wasn't ready" 😂
Of Course Roger returns it quite easily
Actually Nick Kyrgios has the fastest (156 mph) vs Katchanov in 2020
There are several that are faster than these. Sam Groth has the fastest recorded serve at 163 mph.

My fastest serve so slow compared to them
This list is inaccurate Sam Groth holds the record at I believe 163mph and Isner has serve faster than shown here like a million times.
This is only for USOpen
I serve at 160kph not impressed
Lol, these serves are in mph, not kmph. Divide your speed (160 kmph by 1.6 and you'll know the speed in mph)

The faster they are though the faster they can come back.

There's too much non-physical matches in tennis right now, they just rely on serve and that is sad
And some fans had tha audacity to complain about the court being slow
serve is part of the game, if you don't want your opponent to rely too much on the server just return better 🤷
That's absolutely not true. Nadal and Djokovic have never had huge serves. The ones who only rely on serves are usually mediocre players.

Ok boomer
I'm worried about you if you legitimately think Djoker is the GOAT server.
It's not a pointless stat, speed has an important role. Sorry for explaining the obvious .
@@djo-dji6018 not really since Novak isn't on the list of fastest speeds yet he still has the best serve of anyone that's played the game.
That makes my fastest service of 107 mph look snails pace 🐌
