I don't "rave" about too many players, but this kid is a special talent. He's not quite "there" yet. He still hasn't figured out how to use his talents to be highly efficient. Once he does, and I think he will, he's going to be a star at the next level as well. He's as close to "unguardable" as it gets. He handles the ball like a magician. He sees the floor well and can be very creative in his passing. He's incredibly quick and agile. If he can't blow right by his man to get to the rim, he can stop on a dime and let the defender overrun the play. Basically, he can get any shot he wants, and if he learns to think "shoot first, pass second" and locks in on the rim, he'll make those easy shots.

In all honesty, Steve Nash stands at 6-3. Curbelo is listed 6-1, but he plays much bigger! Kid's a stud and will be a starter for sure next season
I'd say a little of Nash, but potentially more Iverson or Westbrook. He's going to be a scorer even if he never becomes a great 3-pt shooter. He can get any shot he wants.

Okay, these highlights of Andre Carbelo are great. (but we need to recall
all the turn overs he had this year. He is getting better, cutting down on his turn
overs. Next year he will start making 3 point shots, sine he hangs with
Adam Miller, another Illinois guard. Miller is not as flashy
but he is smooth and can shoot 3 pointers.
The only post I've seen where they are hating on Belo and showing love to Miller. I think we can both agree Andre has outperformed expectations while Adam Miller has been a little disappointing

He can drive the ball, but Ayo and Carvelo do that so Adam is only trying to fit in. He has sacrificed like Williams, abd Frazier this year. Illinois plays to win, like the National Championship!

I love Curbelo and I'm an Illini fan but KM from Iowa should have won it. The Big 10 basketball office is really messed up because they didn't make Illinois co-big ten champions.
I think it’s more of wanting to give Curbelo an award because he’s setting up to be the face of the big ten with his play and his personality. They couldn’t give him Freshman of the Year because he wasn’t as important to his team as Dickinson was, but they gave him the next best thing.
