They sounded phenomenal the couple times I've seen them too, one of the best mixes I've heard. I'm not sure if they have a dedicated engineer or the band just really knows how to get what they want.
These 3 noble druids were given the unholy and unenviable task of producing a song so magnificently dark that even a level 2000 demon cannot enter the house they were tasked with protecting for 100 years. Well done lads
Josiah Martin yes sir, they’re playing Roadburn Festival this year. Their first live gig in 10 years. Hopefully there’s more shows planned for the year!!!
Fun fact: Sinaia is a mountain town/resort in the Carpathians, Romania. The royal family had a couple of castles there, that you can sometimes see in stupid Netflix romcoms. It might be beautiful there, the mountains are majestic, but there are way too many tourists. I will now give myself a thumbs up.
Well yeah that's what the drummer is supposed to do...all the great names.... Keith Moon, John Bonham even Ringo Starr ( don't sleep on Ringo he's way better than his reputation) they all helped everyone to be on the same page...
I'm not sure if it's the way he plays or that he knows which drums to buy, but Dave Turncrantz has the best sounding drum kit in the industry today, absolutely fucking massive sound
You are literally becoming my favourite band and I've only heard 2 songs. I love the frequency matching. Just getting those two to play nicely with delay and distortion is a lot of fun.
Oh man, welcome to the party. Their newest album Gnosis is incredible, if you like these tracks. That said, I've been listening since I first saw them live at some small venue in Missouri back in I think 2007, and they've been doing nothing but putting out perfection ever since.
@@aaronwhite1786 They are incredible. I've been working on a synth project that uses some of their techniques. (e.g. delays, loopers, frequency shifters, etc.) Just stumbled upon them randomly on TH-cam and was blown away. I thought many artists didn't do that. Good to see other musicians using similar techniques.
My New Favorite Band to listen to 8/5/24......I would love to see them live...... I went to Floyd and Tool..... No lyrics necessary... Just pure ROCK 🩷
That is a sweet baritone, good lord. Unbelievably good tone from all of them. I like how the baritone and the bass are kind of the star of this song. Fuckin amazing jam
A friend introduced me to Russian Circles, years ago. He said “It’s like post-rock, but good”. Haha (not to throw shade on post-rock at all. I’m a fan).
I randomly stumbled upon their “Enter” album like 15 or so years ago. One of the best random TH-cam videos I ever clicked on. Especially since it was during the time I got VERY heavy into post-rock. Russian Circles was one of the bands that really opened the door for me, and got me deeper into the scene, beyond the more mainstream bands like Mogwai or Explosions in the Sky.
Why did I not put 2 and 2 together before... POST metal... POST apocalyptic... It all makes sense now. This is exactly something I'd hear in a movie like 28 Days Later and IT IS BEAUTIFUL. Thank you Russian Circles, for this materpiece!
Russian Circles vids are some of the highest quality sound you will come across on the TH-cam, but they really must be seen live to capture the full essence. Rarely has such a small number of people (three) so fully saturated a room with sound. It is a sonically overwhelming experience.
Very much this! I remember seeing them for the first time live some +10 years ago and how I was floored how ridiculously massive Cook's bass sound was live - even though they were playing in a small club venue. You can otherwise try to replicate the live sound by putting all the volume knobs to full blast in your sound systems, but it's quite impossible to replicate that huge bulldozer bass sound which makes the band sound so massive when they play live. Adds a whole 'nother dimension to their already expansive soundscape.
jack benson I’ve never heard these guys before. I’m a professional musician and they sound tight and the mix is huge. A little positivity never hurt anyone there boss
Yeah I really like that color too. When it comes to guitars the look is very important to me, and I used to not care for Gibson body shapes(especially SG's), but then I dated a girl who had an Epiphone LesPaul Modern II I think? Basically it's thinner, lighter, and slightly smaller than a standard LP. Playing that guitar blew me away, but specifically how effortless it was to make chords on the low frets. It's an uncomfortable strain to play the same chords on my Telecaster.
Well done Audiotree! I remember the days when O'brother, The Soil & the Sun etc played live on your channel, very few subscribers. And now you re one of the best music channels on youtube!! R E S P E C T

Give a medal to the audio engineers here, those drums sound better than most studio productions
Just thinking that. The snare sounds exceptional even on my pissy laptop speakers.

When your bassist really doesn’t want another guitarist in the band.

Nice one ;) But still: This works pretty damn good for me!
