Been so long since I've heard this song I sadly forgot what is was by name. It all came rushing back the second it kicked in. Absolutely love this song!.
I‘ve been there and didnt know pelican at all. Had quite a bad time cause of vomiting from maybe bad food or too much beer but luckily made it back to the stage. Despite that I was like blown away by this mighty massive sound, that comes with a sonic aesthetic I could happily drown in. They really got me! In the mean time i got all of their records ;)
There was a stretch where I thought Pelican was the THE best live rock/metal band I had seen (with the original lineup). Just big ass heavy riffs without any primadonna front man. Glad to see them back and making some new stuff!
great sound composition - spectacular distortion - it's intense ; sometimes it's not necessary to be fast and complicated, it's just simple but intense and immersive
@51:05 First time I saw Pelican was at The Bottom Of The Hill in S.F., back in '05 I think. Before they began *Australasia* they nodded in grattitude to the crowd & walked off stage with all of their instruments in open, unrelenting feedback. 4-5 min later they returned & put their guitars back on, while not interrupting the howling feedback, & began a very slow ( or...a s high as I was; whet Seemed slow ) rendition of this mighty song. Easily one of the coolest things I've ever witnessed a band do.
Saw these guys years ago in Brighton, UK at the tiniest of clubs. Only floor monitors separated them from us and it was absolutely phenomenal. Around when Australasia came out
Amazing that this is available! Props to Larry for keeping the most dependable and rock solid foundation, that drummer is a goddamned machine. It is great to see the original lineup all together on stage. Also can’t believe they played Drought! Edit: What a gargantuan live version of Mammoth. That slow manual drum fade out sounds like an actual mammoth thumping off into the distance.
Sounds like an opinion with internet clout. Probably asked them in person to get a singer and got laughed at. Maybe he wears a red band around his hair and has a dog?
A quote from bassist Bryan Herweg: "I think there are limitations that come with having a vocalist. If we had some big burly man in front screaming, we'd be classified as metal. If we had some scrawny guy we'd be emo. As it is, no one can pin us down".
For capturing Drought on screen; just huge hell yeah. Thank you.

Pelican, Kraftwerk and Rush helped me a lot during my tough PhD years. I'll be forever thankful!
PhD? No wonder I don’t understand these lyrics!
A doctor with great taste in music! Love it!!!!!
Ask your doctor about Pelican!

Best Post-Metal band ever, great sound
I have been a fan since 2005! Glad to see you guys are still rocking!
Such a good pelícan show

Anyone else catch the couple snogging at 51:45? It’s inspiring me to convince my wife to go see Pelican live
😂
Glad to see Laurent back. Sounds great!
wow, I can’t believe these guys are still around playing music
The best version of Ephemeral I've heard. The mix for this concert is perfect.
Hace años que no sabía nada de Pelican. Qué regalo verlos en vivo.
Настоящие музыканты!
Love the power of Pelican’s monster riffs.

🤘🥰💣❣
Was it the engine rooms?
Thank you Rockpalast
For recording and uploading of this show 💚
This is how music should be. Melodic, heavy, and eclectic without lyrics or vocals.

Great band....cheers from Argentina.
Meine Lieblinge im Genre! 🔥🖤
Oft live gesehen und nie enttäuscht worden.
What a band man! AGUANTE PELICAN VIEHAAAAAA!!!!
wow!!! never heard about this band!!!
Russian circles and God is an astronaut had some different polarities of pelicans subtle middle ground between the two.

Wie der Bass drückt 🥰
PELICAN 🤘
i've been there, the loudest and filthiest gig of the day 🤘🤘
I just love them so much ❤
HUGE, BOLD AND CONTUNDENT SOUND.
WELL DONE GUYS!!
Saw you guys in 2007 at the Marquis Theater in Denver. Epic show. Can't wait to see you guys again in Denver.
You got all the best stuff in one shot. Damn. Break open OBS in case this gets deleted for some awful reason.
Man! That bass is grinding !
🤠🔥 thank you from Hungary
Nem gondoltam volna hogy más is hallgatja őket kis hazánkból. Pacsi.
Epic preformance 🔥🤘

So great they are back in original lineup, flawless setlist❤
Awesome that they're back to original lineup but I have to say the bit that Dallas added to Lathe Biosas at the end improved the song!
The video production and sound quality of this performance belongs in the National Archives.
Buen sonido.🤘
Gosh…what a great set. When are y’all coming back to Houston?? I think the last time y’all were here was when you opened for Isis. Pretty please! 🙏🏻 😎
🙏🔥🙏
В 22 году чувак с надписью Русский на концерте. Круто чё!
Just unreal guitar/bass tones. Its like sexy time to my ears
Bird bands are usually pretty good
Das es auch ohne Sänger geht, beweisen auch Long Distance Calling aus Münster. Solltet ihr mal reinhören.
Bleibt der Upload diesmal permanent?
Very Tool-like! Emphasis on the beat.
Thats post-metal for you.
Someone please show this to Trey Xaivier... the only reason I checked this out is because he said they sucked.
Trey is a loser that values pop metal more than anything in his crappy songwriting contests. Why should his opinion matter?
Who da hell is Trey Xaiver
@@beng1137 Some guy who hates pelican. Look him up on youtube.
@@neoconnor4395 nah I'd rather not, he obviously has shit taste in music

no mosh?
Nice to not have to endure an off-key singer for a change.
yeah but how else are we supposed to keep the normies out?
man if they had a good singer dude these guys would rule just that little bit more, but eh they still shred tbh
No! They don't need a singer. Instrumental bands are underrated. I tired of singing, growls and screams at times.
They would need to start a new band, otherwise that would be shifting on a whole culture
@@nickvandermey6065Pelican have incorporated vocals into music before, and instrumental rock is a genre / style of music not a culture.
