    • @Spike-sk7ql
      @Spike-sk7ql 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They won't. MAYBE they'll have something for next year. Maybe. Or maybe this is just the way it's gonna be. There is no place to put lockers inside the queue. The last part of the queue is a single line that is pretty long, and fast lane is one single queue that goes all the way to the station. If CP puts ANOTHER STUPID merge point that puts fast lane in the regular line, that's a half an hour before you get to the platform, they need to reduce the price of their fast lane. It's already RIDICULOUS at Millie, and Vengeance. They charge $1,000 for their all season fast lane, and upwards of $200 for a daily FL. Having the people who paid a whole lot of money to skip the line, merge into the regular line is asinine. They RUINED Vengeance's fast lane when they put the lockers in, and they should fix it by having fast lane go in the left side through the metal detectors, which is the way it used to be. Fast lane queues should NEVER merge into the regular line unless it's at the station. CP fast lane is BS. How is it that every other cedar fair park I go to, KI KD Carowinds, all have a ZERO minute wait for fast lane, and yet, if I want to ride Millie, or Vengeance I have to not only wait to merge into the regular line, sometimes up to 45 minutes before you merge into the regular queue, and then you have another half hour before you get to the station. Hell, even on the rides that do go straight up to the station, like Maverick, the fast lane wait is sometimes as long as 40 minutes. And don't say it's because they sell so many fast lanes. KI sells just as many, if not more because they are way cheaper. I have never waited longer than 10 minutes at KI. Most of the time the wait is 1 or 2 trains max.

    I have a feeling the wheels are the main issue causing this entire ride to shut down, but it's more than just wear and tear. Normally, if coaster wheels are wearing down faster than intended the manufacturer will just send out extra wheels as a "sorry" and work on the new wheels while the ride chews through the old ones. Once they find the solution, the ride uses the new wheels and the ride is good to go. Notice though, the rides that have this happen never shut down, which means the wheels on this ride were causing something catastrophically wrong if they need to shut down the coaster. What I honestly believe, is that the entire wheel assembly may have been incredibly stressed on this coaster. This could have caused permanent deformation on the wheels and wheel carriages, leading to the shuffle you feel on the coaster, but more importantly setting the ride out of line with the lsm stators. Two major accidents might have been prevented by shutting down, and I think those two possible accidents are why no one is saying what the real issue is. But from what I can gather, it sounds like both these plausible accidents could have lead to more flying shrapnel than the original incident that even lead to this coaster being built. It is a good thing they caught this, as one little incident where no one gets hurt could damage this ride's reputation irreparably, and damage the park's reputation permanently for allowing multiple accidents on the same coaster, let alone if anyone was to get hurt again.

    I don't think it's the wheels, I think it's the yoke coupling that connect the cars together. The assembly is all aluminum with aluminum pins, like the rest of the train.. I don't think aluminum pins have ever been used before, or at least not for something that sees excessive forces. Typicially they are solid steel pins in steel sleeve bearings. Seeing how the trains whip over the top hat, it's probably more repetitive force than they can handle. The wheels to me, look way over engineered.. and yes, I am an engineer that works with aluminum.

    A lot of people are pissed about TT2 closing, and while I was in that camp myself, I've come to appreciate this closure. If there's something wrong with the trains that makes them think they need to close the ride and do maintenance on it, I'd rather they do it now than wait for catastrophe to strike. Yes, it royally sucks that it's closed. Yes, people are disappointed. But think of this: worst case scenario (and purely hypothetical; don't get caught up in this), the modification they're making has to do with either the restraints or the train's attachment points to the trucks. Not a big deal the first two launches, but the snap rolls and the ejector airtime on the original tower could have ejected people from the train (or ejected the train itself) at 200 feet up or more. And falling from 20 stories is nearly universally fatal. So I ask you this: do you want to live, or do you want to ride something that could potentially kill you? CP is without contest making the right decision here.

    the trains are a lot higher off the track than the original ones which messes up the heartline. people have been saying that the downward twist especially if you are seated on the left side of the train is downright violent because of the heartline being off. if riders are feeling it, I don't think it's crazy to say that the trains could have issues with the stress. I heard on a podcast today that it's the wheel bogies. maybe they need to put smaller road wheels on and get the heartline closer to the track. all that being said, why didn't the issues show up in the testing before the opening? everyone remembers that Maverick's heart line roll was eliminated because it put too much stress on the trains but they caught that in the testing phase. The logical assumption based on their success with other LSM launch coasters and the proven reliability of them is that they are the much more capable company for handling a project on the scale of TT2. To bring up the failure of Dragster to somehow refute the point that Intamin would be less capable is a mute point because it implies that Intamin learned absolutely nothing from their failures. A point that falls short because Intamin has proved with successive coasters that they did indeed learn from their mistakes. Wide open station. 120mph zip of the cable right out of the gate. Much smoother. For that matter Wicked Twister. TT2 has elements of both. I've called it Wicked Dragster all along. I wanted TT2 to twist & stall lol
    I rode TTD hundreds of times with a true rollback stalled from the top it feels like your back's going thru the seat gravity wants you out of it.
    I didn't feel the desire to ride TT2 that much. Paid lockers or not. I'd pay to ride TTD. You pay $20 + $20 video to ride SlingShot. $10 for Miniature Golf on a flat Main Arcade floor. $10 for the Mirror Maze. Think of it that way lol
    I'm glad TT2 was a hit. The trains look sharp. The line queue is nice. The Xmas tree lights look good. The 270 deg twist didn't feel too bad. The white track is bit blinding. The TT2 switch track was a Cheap Thrill fun element. (I'm going to upload a close-up sequence to go along with my web cam).
    Now if they put crazy spinning Wild Mouse Cheese car on TT2 I might feel different.

If you look at all other launch type coasters how many have had to close the ride within one week because of train problems and remove them for this. Because the money spent on repairing this (SAFETY FIRST) could jeopardize any possibility of a bigger coaster opening here in the next two years! This is a huge loss for everyone, the park, the patrons, and the industry! Call me crazy, but some of the big coaster manufacturers should have a real test track and put it through the paces before actually putting it into operation! Designing them by computer is one thing, actually putting them under the stress/torture tests can detect what can go wrong after extended use! Just my opinion!

    Zamperla has a shaky history as far as building reliable equipment. I worked in the industry for 15 years and the owner of the park where I was employed vowed to never buy anything from them again. Rotten luck with 4 different rides. Each one had different issues but they all shared the big issue of bad engineering and flimsy construction. Steel was slowly bending out of shape on critical supports and ride vehicle connectors. This was happening when all four of the rides were operated under average conditions with average rider weights. I know Italian companies have beefed up their engineering standards over the years. That being said....I was surprised when I heard of Zamperla's involvement on this big makeover on a huge attraction that they had nothing to do with in the first place. All of the hype and excitement over this coaster coming to a halt this quickly over possible engineering issues on all three of the trains will likely not sit well with the general public and most importantly the enthusiasts. I hope things work out quickly for all involved.

    maybe this ride is just not to be judged before the first two months into the 2025 season. Considering that Zamperla have never done anything like this, the gamble might have been too big to seriously expect a more or less flawless opening. I do find it weird though that they are discovering something this severe after just a couple of days of opening to the public, while they had the ride testing for 1-2 months iirc. How much stress can a few days of public operation have caused that you couldn't have figured out with stress testing beforehand? Anyways, I guess let them do their job, let's hope the ride reopens this year, and just call it a real failure if it is not running reliably from next year on. So far to me the only thing it is not is an epic win. But living in Europe, I wouldn't book my trip in 2024 😀

Imagine the press and the echo if the opening had been canceled entirely. Now you at least got people talking about the ride, people have seen it in action, reviews were mostly positive. For sure this is pure speculation, but from an economical point of view I would understand it to an extent. And I definitely trust CP that the ride was safe at any moment it operated.

      Let’s take a second to acknowledge what a great idea it was to go with Intamin on the original installation of this ride type at CP 😕 Zamperla at least has the excuse that they’ve never built a ride like TT2, and that it’s using new trains, etc. TTD was *not* Intamin’s first hydraulically-launched high-speed coaster. In the year TTD opened, it, too was closed for CoasterMania. Oh, and shortly after it opened, a theming element (dragster tire) broke off the blue train, which caused CP to remove all of the dragster tire theming pieces from all the trains. TTD also went down a lot during this period, a tendency it never overcame. Let’s not pillory Zamperla just yet.
