As Sfgam as my home park, I will say the pnumatic launch is something else.
Part of me wishes S&S won the bid.
The engineering is tough for this one, especially with an all newly designed train. Got to give them credit though, its very well done for what it is. The wheel carriers were not holding the train within tolerance down the track. Trains were hitting the LSM and that cant happen. This is very complicated especially with the forward and backward motions at these speeds. The testing we have been seeing were temporary "test" fixes for the wheel carriers they are being completely remanufactured currently. Gussets/reinforcements have been welded to the aluminum wheel carriers and typically this is not standard practice. Its better to have fully machined billet with no heat stress to make things safe. Could they open the ride with this temporary fix? Possibly, but would it deem a safe reliable ride? Give it time. I'm sure if we designed it, it would have had many more issues. Safety is Cedar Points top priority and delaying the opening is honestly the correct move at this point.
do you have sources for this or are you relying on Ryan the Ride Mechanics recent analysis? Seems plausible but not sure why they'd install test bogeys on two trains (silver and black) to then only really test one of them (silver) if ultimate intent was to replace both sets of bogeys anyway
@@johnmitchell5333 The Idea was approved but after putting that idea into trial it was denied and the safe route was taken. Ride Mechanic is basically spot on with his analysis ;)

My eyes can't roll hard enough
I rode TT2 at a preview event. I didn't like it compared to TTD. Blue train row 5. It was extremely shaky side-to-side especially the return track. The diameter of the wheels are very large you feel like you're sitting too high off the track.
The launch is slow. The mini rollback isn't much more than Wicked Twister. A true TTD rollback from a stall at the top is intense it feels like gravity wants your back out of the seat. I wanted the rear spike to twist like Wicked Twister lol The TT2 white paint is sort of blinding too.
The whole gimmick of going backwards doesn't match the 0-120mph in less than 4 sec hydraulic cable launch of TTD. Which was the whole point and experience of 17 sec of a Top Thrill. I'd rather ride TTD and Wicked Twister if they were right next to each other. Get off one get on the other lol I'm glad the repurposed TTD. Going over straight up then over the top hat was fun after all this time even if it was to high off the track.
I'm glad you have the TTD udio recording. The person who recorded Arms Down is Lance H. formerly of Live E! ...I walked past him and Tony Clark during a Millennium Force ERT and said that. They got a bit of a laugh out of that since not too many people know that lol

Cedar Fair should remove all the C-level positions and the board and replace them with youtubers and the yahoos in the comment section. Everything will be just perfect after that.

The park caught the cracks in the wheel bogies early. I hope that they get this ride reopened by July 4th weekend.

Can back the money lost aspect. I was planning a trip a few weeks ago but cancelled it because this ride was the main attraction of the trip. I'm sure Cedar Fair realizes this, though. It's an investment I'm sure they want to pay them dividends A.S.A.P. but considering the ride's history they're probably quite wary of the PR nightmare of another hazardous malfunction.
I'm just hoping their choice in Zamperla doesn't bite them in the rear long-term.
And they have the nerve to charge even more this year than past years for a Fast pass plus i just got my tickests for next week. And im pretty sad TT2. Won't be up and running

I mean... its not like CP isn't full of world class coasters or anything. To a 6:20 nyone not going because it's down, Thank You. At least there's a couple people I don't have to fight through at my home park.

I went for the first time in six years and not only was TT2 down (which I of course knew) so was Steel Vengeance. On top of it some fucking clown (employee) was standing by the train booth yelling “it could be five minutes, it could be five hours, it could be all day” UNSOLICITED. And of course CP doesn’t reply to complaints.
Well the worker that you took so much offense to was just answering the question that he probably already heard 200 times, and didn't want to answer it another 600. Be thankful he said anything at all. Most of the time they don't say anything. It's not that serious, and the guy did you a favor by informing you before you asked.

@@Brodie--lw6eb just because you didn't see it doesn't mean it hasn't happened. Trust me, they ALWAYS ask "what's wrong with the ride? How long will it be down for? Can we just wait here?" etc. etc. etc. I see it all the time. If you happened to be there just as it went down, just know that it probably wasn't the first time that Vengeance went down that day, and he probably had to answer that question 600 times already that day alone. If they didn't, they were going to. Like I said, it's better than the standard answer of "I don't know". On top of the people at the podium by the exit having to tell people coming off the ride where to go to get to the lockers, even though there are 2 signs telling you where to go as you come down the steps. That question at least there's an answer for. (Past the Dippin dots, to the left) they used to keep track of how many times they would get asked that just for fun, and in one hour last year, it was an average of 45 times. Why is it such a problem that the guy was saying that anyways? Are you new to amusement parks? Because that really shouldn't have been such a big deal that you felt the need to make a complaint about it.

When it was top thrill a piece came off and hit someone so they got rid of it and made it better, well that didn’t work either, it’s just one big problem after another with this ride, so it needs to hit the road…….
So choose the original manufacturer that it was a disaster under it for 20 yu
That same manufacturer has also greatly improved their reliability issues. Also, that hydraulic launch system was being pushed to the max, maybe even a little beyond. Intamin should have got the chance to fix it. Maybe the people that haven't got on it yet would have already.
It's closed on May 11th. Over a month. Won't open till next season when the park becomes Six Flags. It's going to be renamed Superman. Escape to Krypton 2.

Just tear it down and put something that will be reliable in its place. Cedar Point has become the Waffle House of amusement parks the ghetto crowds and problems associated with them and the erroneous prices just are not worth going there.
They can’t fix top thril 2 so it needs to go, all it is, is it’s just top thrill dragster with mods, that’s about it…..
They need to build something better in that spot….
