A third party company is porting these arcade games, but you didn't know that from the lack of effort to investigate that and flat out assuming everything on the Switch is solely made by Nintendo.
I was just watching this to pass the time, since I woke up too late to watch this segment, but I never knew they also played some Sky Skipper as well. I never even knew this game existed. This is pretty dang cool.
Imagine what would've become of Sky Skipper if it had been released, it might have been a well known series with multiple games released, or it could've turned into a Nintendo classic like Ice Climbers and Kid Icarus.

I never got to play the arcade version; I didn't even know about the original, only the DKC series, until the NES Classics version on GBA came out, and my mom told me about it. Even still, I didn't know it was missing a level until one day, my uncle played it, and complained that a level was missing. I had no clue what he was talking about, but I did some research, and found out about the cement factory level. It's crazy how hard it is to find that particular version of it, but it's finally available. Took you long enough, but thank you Nintendo.

Bandai Namco re-released the Popeye arcade game for mobile phones a decade ago, so if they still hold the license maybe they could make a deal with Nintendo and Hamster.
CabinDoor with the different types of versions including an early glitched version is dope. Yeah it’s not virtual console, but there are already other options for that. They’ll get around to it, just enjoy others work.
The fact that the switch released makes it a really good opportunity for a multiplayer Super Mario 64, please give me that SM64 is my favorite game of all time on any platform and I really want to play it on my switch
actually that version was the later Japanese arcade version and there was a mode where you could play that one officially with three lives if you got 6 banana fairy's and encountered the minigame in frantic factory. the one life mechanic and N64 coin was just a modification for the main game.
It was remade from scratch to be as close to the original as possible. It's not perfect (for example, controlling the barrels doesn't work), but it's a lot closer than any other version.
That was awesome and I'm still looking forward for Arcade Archives: Donkey Kong 3 and Vs. Pinball and ACA Neo-Geo: League Bowling and Money Puzzle Exchanger on Nintendo Switch in handheld mode.
Looking forward to seeing all the crazy high scores and competitive environment. just as long as we don't see anyone called "Billy Mitchell" on that list. That guy had all his world records revoked after Apollo Legend exposed him for the cheater that he was.

I've never played the NES version but I've played a lot of the arcade version and Mario's walk sound is supposed to be modulated in pitch with each step.
