@@CoachReese Alright, I watched that hence my qes. Just a curiosity since, he always have 2 adjacent boxes of players aligned vertically in front of the back 4, which then perhaps allowed them to maintain the ball position centrally during attack in the final 3rd, and more importantly their high chance of winning back the ball in their opposition half. Just say :)

We are starting to see the box midfield with a lot of positional play teams now in recent weeks. As you've mentioned it help progress vertically and centrally, along with aiding a counter press. Although, teams will have a consistent style. With De Zerbi it's very positional play focused, the shapes and structures they use may change slightly depending on the moment or stage within their season
