  • Marcelo Bielsa has often talked about the 10 formations used by his team. 5 with 4 at the back and 5 with 3 at the back. There are variations of each system along with unorthodox systems that might be used in desperation. Bielsa describes formations as important and offers structure and organisation. But the principles of how the team plays are the most important element.

I love it, but it needs specific players in each position

Ppl thinks pep is the only in depth coach, but here's bielsa sitting for ages on underrated bench

@@CoachReese i've already watched it. Bielse has complicated philosophy and i enjoy your observations. There are many sources of Bielsa style but it makes a lot of confusion, misunderstanding around. I thınk you are the guy who could clear all misunderstandings.I enjoy and appreciate your work. Keep it up, wish you best ✌️

@@CoachReese I’m a harassed Leeds United fan. And could never understand why he wouldn’t change the man marking system. That every team must have worked out, eventually. Love bielsa but would love to hear about the man marking. It just made us so easy to play against, eventually

@@theintellectualsamurai7265 As with most coaches they're stubborn. Bielsa probably just too much. Which could be a reason why he's always been described as the nearly man

There are reason why pep praised him a lot. The manager who could manage any team in the world. But he had bad habit, which rigidity. That's why he rarely won anything. If at least diego simeone or Bielsa who manage Argentina, their could had world cup already

I was just about to say that. That’s his favourite. They said a 3-3-1-3.
      Missing a 3-3-3-1

There is no "best formation" to start with. Every one of them have advantages and weaknesses. 433 has become popular nowadays, specially given the influence Barca and Real Madrid have had on international competitions, but you need players of that caliber to have a fluent football.
On the other hand, Mourinho made his career doing tactics that nullifies those styles with a more counter attack aproach, same thing with France these past years. All tactics are good if you have the right players for it

Absolutely, there is no perfect solution to anything in football. There will always be a trade off
