    One of the most comfortable extreme ( metal shaped ) guitars I’ve ever played . The short wing on the bottom made it more comfortable to play in a classical position . It makes sense that it would be considering Randy studied classical guitar .

    • @dumpsterplayer5133
      @dumpsterplayer5133 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Its honestly a little bit boring compared to the old USA production line, or even the Japanese production line (even after the Professional Pro was discontinued they continued to make USA-class instrument for the local market). Doesn't even have colored bevels or pinstriping, when Snow White Black Bevel is like THE RR1 color scheme and pinstripe is classic Rhoads.
      For the asking price new, I'm not sure if its ever worth over just importing an old JDM Rhoads, or rather 2-3 of them given the price difference. I picked up a Japanese Rhoads Custom (top of the line models of the early 90s, same spec as the USA Rhoads Custom that became the RR1) recently and its as well made as any USA I've played.

    • @_ProTrax

    Dude, the JB is my fav pickup! Love how upfront and present its mids are; it's a straight-up fucking crunch machine.
    I have one in the bridge of a Schecter C-1 Classic that I keep in drop-A. Most folks don't think of the JB as a pickup for severely downtuned guitars, but I was shocked at how well it works in that low tuning. Just an amazing all-around pickup.

    I have a Jackson RR5 from 2000 and it's an MIJ with a set neck. Totally awesome metal guitar. Also it's black and gold which is awesome.

    • @raygodmanMX

      If it is a MIJ RR5 it is one solid piece of rock maple from headstock to butt, it's neck thru not a set neck. Your RR5 is much BETTER than a mere set neck lol.

    That sounds so good in the mix, but isolated, I remembered why I hate the JB. It has such a weird, scratchy treble.

    Man that Chug tone is so incredible. I have two guitars w/ the Jb in the bridge an LP copy (Not authentic :) ) and my New Kramer Aztec Nightswan which has 2 JB's and it's amazing. I also have a few guitars with the Seymour TB6's in the bridge and I think I might like the JB better.. Although, my favorite bridge pup right now I got a hold of is EMG Rectro active Fat 55's. As for these Jackson neck profiles, My Soloist neck is so flat it feels weird. I've been playing Ibanez RG's since the 80s and used to the Wizard types, but my Jackson feels even thinner.. I've had it for two years and I don't play it much cause the profile just doesn't feel natural to me. It's a beautiful guitar and sounds great..Just feels weird to me

    Only thing is that gloss neck could be troublesome over time in a rehearsal or show. Sometimes you don't realize how much drag there is until you play a neck with a satin or oil finish.
