We stayed at the Gordon Castle during our visit to Scotland last year. What an amazing place. The staff were all incredible. We also got to visit Mapperton on the up to Scotland.
I've wanted to move to Scotland for some time. Being in the US, I doubt that will ever Happen due to living on a fixed income. It makes my heart flutter to even see these videos.
The Quality of the presentation and filming..is as good as any BBC production… I’m staggered that You haven’t been asked to make a documentary. For Television…Amazzing
No one does these home tours as good as Julie!!! The facts, little bits of information, happy and bright mood. Her active listening and communication skills just shine ✨ thank you for taking us to this amazing estate ❤
I wish at our castle was still standing in Scotland, family name is McCall but it belonged to the clan MacAulay - Ardincaple Castle. Unfortunately there is only a tower left in the rest is gone. My grandmother has seen it in person because she made that journey to meet that side of the family but I have not yet.
Absolutely breathtaking I never knew there was such a magnificent privately owned , house garden anywhere in the world such as this. Thank you for sharing with us all .
I ❤this American Viscountess!!! So sad that castle is being demolished. I keep a framed photo of the castle my ancestors lived in. Unfortunately, it was demolished in the early 1900’s. I am very impressed by Gordon Castle.
My ancestors castle is a ruin now too, the roof was removed in the 1950s due to taxes but it was abandoned before that. Luckily I live around 40 minutes from it, my ancestors have stayed in the same area of Scotland for one thousand years, I can trace my family back to clan chiefs and lords, my 17th great grandfather married the granddaughter of Robert The Bruce. History is everything to me, to be able to step back in time would be incredible.
@@Glesga_lassie Your lucky to live so close. That must be nice. My 15th great grandfather was Knighted by Robert the Bruce. Our ancestors went to Scotland from Durham, England about 1230. I live in America so I was shocked to find out about my colorful Scottish ancestors lives.
@@AshleyMartin-f3x It was built via my 15th gg in the 1300’s. It was old and the individual who bought it didn’t have the resources to fix it. I am not certain if it even had electricity or indoor plumbing.
What a glorious home and garden! Thank you so much Angus & Zara for sharing your home with all of us. Julie, I believe that Gordon Castle is my favorite one so far. Looking forward to your next video. ❤
The gardens left me with a breath of heaven, thank you beloved Viscountess, you and your friends are so lovely. 🐝🌸🏵🌻🌼 Ahhh, Scotland, the light there is amazing to bath in, so photographic. Thank you!
Thank you for another fantastic video. The garden is spectacular!! Brilliant idea with the Gordon brand. They are truly maximizing every inch of the vast garden. The sustainability and multi use for the plants and veggies is genius. I love the story about how they came about the logo! Sending love from CT.💕
Thank you so much for another wonderful video! One always learns so much and you always give such great tours and interesting information. The architecture of these old places, gorgeous historical landmarks and houses, is so beautiful, and it is honestly quite sad that it was demolished. Great video, like always and I loved the music!
Beautiful! Amazing! Thank you for sharing this! My ancestor, Charles Henry Gordon Lennox, was my 11th cousin. 🎉 The 5th Duke was my 8th cousin ! It's fascinating to learn about these estates! The history is amazing ❤! Julie, thank you for discussing mental health care with all of us! The stigma needs taken away so people can feel loved and that they can get the help needed! ❤
Interesting to read your comment! I am a descendant of William Gordon, 2nd Earl of Aberdeen, so am glad to see this lovely episode; hence I would love to visit Haddo House near Inverurie (Aberdeenshire). Could Julie pay a visit there please?
LOVE ENJOY THIS SHOW DARLINGS IT'S A BEAUTIFULLY DESIGNED HOUSE AND GARDENS DARLINGS MAGICAL WONDERS OF NATURE TOGETHER DARLINGS IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL DARLINGS
Love her enthusiasm and energy. Appreciate the subject matter. Amused by her very expressive, unreserved American-style body language. Very much wish she would find another response to every statement than “right”. In an interview setting, it’s a conversational tic that distracts the viewer from the content of the conversation. A simple nod would suffice in most instances.
What an amazing place and I’m so in love with the walled garden. Love that their brand products come from that garden ❤❤❤❤❤What a fascinating history and thanks for taking us along 😍😘
Awesome that you are concerned about mental health! Therapy while watching your videos enjoying the history and subject content about historical castles, homes etc
Hi Julie, watching from Texas! I really enjoy all of your videos but this one is extra special! The scenery is so beautiful and the story of the castle is very interesting to me because my ancestors were from Scotland. They are doing some really amazing things, such as the branding ideas. However, the star of the show is the garden, just spectacular! Thanks so much for sharing this with us!
I ❤ your videos. Thanks for visiting all those estates. I’ve only been to a few in the UK but your videos give us a chance to see more than we ever could. You also have a great camera person! Who do you bring with you to film?
So frustrating that we saw so little of the interior of the house. And none of the inside of the Tower building at all. I did love the gardens but could have done without most of the fishing footage. I enjoy the AV episodes but am always disappointed when the episode does not focus on the actual building more, including the interior.
My husband's mother's second cousin was Evelyn Gordon, daughter of Bertram Fuller Gordon, 20th of Abergeldie and Florence Rose. She was born on the Gordon Estate and ran the estate alongside her father. Because of her female status the Estate and Abergeldie castle all passed to a distant cousin when her father died. She was left with an apartment in Edinburgh. My husband was her residual legatee as her only relative; but the Homeopathic society managed a slight of hand with a young man's help and the balance was left to them.
Such a beautiful castle. Just another amazing episode. Was that gin merely 5.99? 🤔 You should coordinate a discount code for all their products! I love the logo. With we had smell-o-vision whe u were sampling 🤗
OMG Julie! That Looks Like One Of Your Hawks(At The Entrance!))) Is It?!)))… ❤Jacqueline(from across the pond)❤️ P.S. I Took A Screenshot Of It But I Don’t Know How To Submit It Here So Ya Can See!)
An amusing turn of phrase. But in actuality George Gordon, the 5th Duke, was the loving father of three illegitimate children whose paternity he always acknowledged. However, being illegimate they could not inherit the estate. They were Charles, Georgiana and Susan.
Very much like a South Patagonian gardens not that rare as most of them were of Scottish ancestry, my political aunt was Margaret Gordon, on my fathers side I'm a 22 great grandaughter of Duncan of Strathbogie 5th Earl of Fife through Hamiltons
As an American, I have a hard time understanding a government who taxed their citizens so heavily post WWI and WWII to put the United Kingdom back together post the wars.
The people decided they were fed of being exploited so they voted for those who would build decent housing, give them sick pay, old age pensions and decent healthcare. Not that complicated. Where was the money going to come from?
Julie, I know money is tight. But there must be somewhere in the country that can put dome blonde in your hair. It will take 20yrs off your looks. You are so beautiful blonde!! You take such good care of yourself, except for this one thing. It’s every five months! You can do it 😊😊😊 are you putting color in at home??? Looks like it, it’s just not you!

What a beautiful castle and beautiful scenery!! Always enjoy Julie’s engagement with the owners and her enthusiasm!
What a wonderful place. I would never have known about it without your fabulous series. Thank you.

This space is so beautiful. I would love to be able to experience it.
As a florist, that garden is a dream. I can imagine walking, picking flowers and making a bouquet as I go..... beautiful.

This episode is one of my new favorites! This garden was such a joy to see, and their dedication to sustainability. Got some great ideas too. LOVE.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love the Corvette she is driving, a classic American car to visit some classical British houses
❤ LOVE this story of the revival of Gordon Castle and the passion and commitment of its owners! 👏 👏
I read that 900 Aristocratic Heirs died during WWI. It took down the English Aristocracy along with a large number of European Monarchs.
How sad.🇦🇺
Julie is so amazing. She lives in a castle/estate and still excited when she tours other estates
Julie your presentation s here are outstanding. 🇨🇦

Does the estate have wild animals - like bears, who would seek out the salmon? I obviously know nothing of this.
Probably yes, will have Stag, Otter, red squirrel, osprey, golden eagle no doubt
