Oh, Julie, THANK YOU for helping those of us who can’t “travel” be able to do so! I enjoy both of your Channels and have learned so much. I have a Scottish background through my Mother’s maternal Grandfather & she remembers the way he spoke. He was from Paisley, Scotland and I love the sound of the Pipes. I was in floods of tears when H. M. Queen Elizabeth II’s Piper was planning “Sleep, dearie, Sleep” at the end of her Funeral. Again, thank you for helping us to educate ourselves about you new home.

@@AmericanViscountessJust curious if you might be able to answer some questions for me?
My royal and noble lineage is extensive, I am a direct descendant of Robert the Bruce, several English Kings, almost a thousand years of Kings and Queens of Spain or Aragon and Castile, direct descendant of Isabella I and King Ferdinand II, Queen Joanna of Castile, kings and queens of Portugal, several Kings of France, several Dukes of Prussia and Landgraves of Germany, a direct descendant of the Habsburgs, Plantagenets, Bourbons, Hohenzollerns, Stuart’s and other prominent families in Europe, dozens of nobles with titles of Duke, Count, Viscount, Countess, Earl, many nobles who worked directly beside kings and queens of the Tudor dynasty.
I have spent hundreds of hours just confirming my lineage because it seems so unlikely as an American but I cannot find a single discrepancy, I have cross referenced, check birth and death dates, birth places, places of death, I wanted to make sure it was legitimate, I just don’t know where to begin with this or if I should even tell anyone at all but family history is very important to me and I would like to pass it down to the next generations, I would also like to know if there are any entitlements that come with my family history.

I would suggest getting in touch with a Scottish genealogist. Or, perhaps a Scottish library would be happy to help you with the genealogy. Also, try contacting the National Museum. I would imagine they have one. I imagine that they would have artists that would paint or print a genealogy chart in the European fashion like these. www.google.com/search?q=scottish+genealogy+chart&rlz=1C5MACD_enUS1046US1046&oq=scottish+genealogy+chart&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyBggAEEUYOTIHCAEQIRigATIHCAIQIRigATIHCAMQIRifBTIHCAQQIRifBTIHCAUQIRifBTIHCAYQIRifBTIHCAcQIRifBTIHCAgQIRifBTIHCAkQIRifBdIBCTExMDc2ajBqN6gCALACAA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#vhid=mcd1iFD6JHSZwM&vssid=l@@chrisnelson3691 This being the internet age, there would be Scottish genealogy sites that may prove very helpful. The website link has the artists and a list of genealogy experts.

@hakunamatata7941 It would be very easy for people to steal these in such a s small space with so many valuable and irreplaceable heirlooms packed in each room. Even with a security gaurd placed in each of the 60 rooms (which would be very expensive).
The family already stated that they rotate the attic items down in to displays in the main house tour - in order to keep the tour displays fresh and to keep visitors wanting to return to see the updates, which is income they count on to keep thhe estate viable and maintained. If people could just walk through the attic rooms, this would also remove the incentive for people to return, since they already had everything. (Also, as they are displayed in the attic room, most people would not understand the historical context of what they are looking at.) I think they made a prudent decision.

My Murray and MacLennan families left Scotland in 1801 for Nova Scotia. The MacLennans chose a land grant there vs a pension in Scotland after being injured while in the Queens Black Watch. Both families have lots of redheads and I understand that Blair had connections to the name Murray. When my mother visited Blair from the US, she had to laugh at all the redheads in the picture gallery there. Definitely a connection…we were from Ross area and the Grampian Mts.

Visited beautiful Scotland back in April 2023. Visited and toured Blair Castle. My mother is a direct decendant of Viscount John Graham, Bonnie Dundee who was killed in the battle of Killicrankie and buried for a time at the church on Blair Castle Estate. I was amazed at how small John Graham's armor and helmet were. It wasn't thick or strong enough to stop a bullet from penetrating it. A very beautiful Castle and grounds!

Oh, wow. In 1998 I attended a Scottish country dance formal ball at Blair Atholl. We didn't see much of the house; mainly the ballroom, the ladies' lounge/restroom, and the corridors leading to those two places. The things that stood out the most to me were the decor, consisting largely of antlers and weapons. If I ever get back to Scotland I'd love to see more of the place.

Around 1986 I was invited to play in a Pearson company golf competition at Woburn. For the meal afterward I was seated on a table of (IIRC) eight, next to a rather jolly, tall older gent who introduced himself as Iain. Conversation was lively and eventually one of the other people on the table asked Iain if his army had enjoyed their trip to Florida… which was when I found out that he was ‘Wee Iain’, the 10th Duke of Atholl. Apparently he had recently chartered a jet to take his private army, the Atholl Highlanders, to Disney World. The Highlanders are the only legal private army in Europe, as far as I know.
I believe he was the last Duke to actually live at Blair Castle.

There is printed documentation in my book, "Cash For Peerages: The Smoking Gun" by Lord Stirling. The Lord Lyon is not the final gatekeeper for the Peerage, however, at the time, of my claim, the then Lord Lyon agreed with my claim. I’d be most happy to live in that attic. I’m happy to maintain, fix, and polish it all. So beautiful… 😍

We were is Scotland in September. We toured many castles, occupied and ruins. Unfortunately we missed some because of ferry schedules or were closed that day. This looks like the “fairy castle” we stopped at but could tour because of the ferry.

Very much enjoyed this video. As a descendant of Clan MacLeod of Harris, Great Grandparents came to America from Scotland, I would enjoy visiting Dunvegan Castle. I do have my kilt and wear it time to time.
