  • How to install the cheapest long travel suspension on your Polaris RZR Turbo XP. We show you exactly what needs to be done to put Turbo S suspension parts onto your Turbo XP. Its a lot easier than I thought and requires very little fabricating. This can be the cheapest way to get a long travel kit on a Turbo RZR. The long travel makes your RZR ride better. It gives you more clearance. This is one of the best RZR upgrades Ive done so far.
    Parts list
    - Upper and Lower A arms for a Turbo S
    - Trailing arms and lower radius rods for a Turbo S
    - 2 ended adjustable upper radius rods for a Turbo S
    - Tie rods, aftermarket or drilled knuckles to use stock Turbo S
    - Rear limit straps (32in)
    - Passenger side front brake line (Turbo S) and 7 banjo fitting washers
    - Brake fluid to bleed the brakes after
    - Bolts: 8 x 12mm bolts with nylon nuts, 4 x 70mm long and 4 x 100mm long
    - 6in long piece of 1.5in x 1/8 flat bar to make tabs
    - Turbo S bearing carriers or modify turbo ones.
    - Turbo S axles
    Total cost was under $1400 if I went stock turbo S bearing carriers. However the parts I took off sold used for around $1000.

    I’m just about finished up with this swap on my 2020 XP turbo.
    This is the only TH-cam video I’ve ever seen on doing this swap, other than a few videos doing the swap on an RS1. Great info from Grim RZR in this video, but I would like to add a few things to it:
    For the rear, if you opt to keep the XP rear hub carriers like I did, the factory Turbo S lower radius rods WILL NOT work. I ended up buying a set of Assault Industries +4” rods for the XP and these seem to work.
    On the front, the upper arms will need some grinding on the back side of the bushing mounts to clear the factory frame rail. The bracket he cut out in the video and fabricated is extremely hard to weld properly because you can’t get the welder gun on the backside to weld completely. It was nerve racking cutting the tab.
    Also, the Turbo S shock mount sits 1” farther out from where the arm mounts to frame, so the XP shock will limit travel at full droop. I learned Turbo S front shocks are longer than XP shocks.

    • @GrimRZR

      I've been just riding it. After the holidays I will look back at it. I'm sure you could swap the hole end out on the shock or just weld some washers onto the a arms. My first thought was make adapter that serves as a bushing between the 10mm bolt and 12mm hole. A stepped washer

    • @tayloredman6615

      So I just finished up my swap. I did come up with a solution for the shocks. Polaris part# 5135275. They are a 12MM to 10MM stepped reducer. You’ll need 2 per arm. Worked out flawlessly and now can run the factory 10mm bolts that came off the shocks

    Did any of you guys doing this swap have issues with the toe in the rear. I’m in the process of doing the swap right now. I’m using the Assault Industries +4” radius rods from a Turbo XP. I got a measurement from a neighbors Turbo S factory lower radius rods and it was 28.75” center to center. I matched this for my lowers. When I got the lower and upper rods on it appears the hubs are tied out to much.

    • @GrimRZR
      @GrimRZR  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not that I know of. Im not sure how much toe would be too much either. The toe changes throughout the suspension cycle also. Make sure to get measurements at ride height

    • @deslboy05dd
      @deslboy05dd ปีที่แล้ว

      So I finally started working on the front upper arms. I’m having a hard time cutting out that tab and I’m concerned I won’t be able to get my welder in there to weld up the back side. Looks like I need to move the tab at least 1/4” back. Is this about how much you had to move it? Also did you notice the lower shock mount on the Turbo S is spaced out 1” farther on the arm so you will lose some droop because the arms won’t droop as far as the factory ones
