The live version holds so much more interest, the animated version as good as it is, detracts from the comedy and perfect timing of seeing this in a live setting. Great reaction guys ❤
I wanted to comment the same, the animation is nice and impressive, but I think it distracts from the substance of the song. That and this version seems to be a bit faster that the live version.
@@elbruces Well, this performace was a lot more monotone. The live version has much more emotions and emphasis at important parts. Also some of the important pauses were a bit too short or missing in this one compared to the live version(s).
@@Bunny99s Not to mention the facial expressions and that he acts increasingly drunk as he recites the live one. There's no inflection in the animation.
The last line is the most important challenge IMO. Nice reaction channel. Tim is a very talented artist. There are some great songs and poems he's written, on various topics.
Enjoyed your reaction. As a non-believer myself, I appreciate your openness as Christians to listen and discuss these subjects. It makes for much more interesting reactions. If you want suggestions for more Tim Minchin, you should really check out "Inflatable You" the Royal Albert Hall version for TIckled Pink charity. If you want to see a slightly different side to Tim, there are a couple of really good melancholy but brilliant songs, "Not Perfect" performed on the sideshow and "White Wine in the Sun" from Australian "Ready for this" DVD.
I never thought a few lines in a song or a beat poem could so prfectly reflect my philosophy. It's this: Isn't this enough? Just this world? Just this Beautiful, complex, wonderfully unfathomable, natural world How does it so fail to hold our attention that we have to diminish it with the invention of Cheap, man-made myths and monsters?
My beliefs are very similar to Tim's, but I really appreciate how open-minded you two are. I've heard so many people dismiss the kinds of views I hold without even considering them, just saying "that's stupid" or "that's just someone paid to pretend they believe this thing". y'all are cool, and this has been a fun drunken youtube rabbit-hole to fall down
I agree that the phrase 'they are lying or mentally ill' is a false dichotemy. It could be one of those, but they could just have been lied to themselves or simply been given incorrect information. If kids are taught critical thinking skills then they will be less likely to believe in magic and the supernatural and only believe things for which we have evidence. But we can only hope that one day that will happen
That’s very true I agree 100% (-Dayle guy on the left), I think naturally people will mainly align with the value and core beliefs they learnt growing up, or are currently in, so a Christian will always base their world views around their earlier beliefs, same as Muslim, Buddhist and so on (most religious / spiritual belief systems). Of course not all in this manner as many have their “coming to Jesus” moments where they may gain belief in a creator, or may deter from their original faith beliefs for a number of reasons whether that be: lack of goodness in humanity, unanswered prayers, contradictions in the writings of that faith or the people representing that faith or belief system, and finally personal experiences. It’s a difficult subject but I think non believers really need more solid evidence before they can lean into the side of believing in the supernatural, especially since logic can give answers for a lot of the subjects and topics of the supernatural
The "power to make decisions" there would seem to be two ways, one is that quantum states do what they do and the result is the perception of control. The other is, a mechanism that can change those quantum states but so far nothing has been found or dreamt that could do this, and given that our thoughts happen after external reality has moved on, true control would be infantly more complicated. By far the simplest explanation is that we simply ride the wave in an ocean of complexity with a wonderful illusion of self determination. To say "I chose" is simply where your complexity was going anyway. Show me the mechanism and I will be convinced of the more complicated solution.
Exactly. "We can make decisions". Do we? Did he have a choice of saying anything else in that exact situation? It sees like he could, but how can we know?
Great reaction and interesting discussion. Can I suggest a couple of Tim Minchin's songs that get less attention but are just as good in my opinion, namely "You Grew on Me" and "Beauty".
Please adjust the volume for your recordings. In order to hear your comments I have to turn the volume up enough for the video you are watching to make my ears bleed.
Sorry we didn’t understand about mic compressing as we’re still relatively new to all this, all the reactions we record from now will have way better audio
Oh noes the damned animated version 😂 the live is soooo mch better! Oh i love The Streets! Glad you liked it, I mean There is nothing wrong with this version, just not as energetic as the live versions and his expressions convey so much more!
And coincidence would be millions of times more amazing if they DIDN'T happen all the time. We all experience the world around us, we use the same language of those around us, so absolutely from time to time you WILL say the same words, or sing a song just before it comes on the Radio! These things happen ALL the time and MUST do exactly that!
The volume on your voices is incredibly low. I had to crank my headset up to max to hear what you were saying in the beginning, only to suffer minor hearing damage once you started the video, the volume of which was much more normal. Aaand the same thing keeps happening every time you stop and start it again. Sorry, I can't keep watching this.

It's fine.

Talking to the dead is easy. The real trick is to get them to talk back.
Definitely watch the live stage version too. Tim's expression and body language really make the whole thing better, not that the animation is bad.
The question is why do you believe in spirituality?
They couldn't begin to understand the brilliance of Tim. Most people caught up in religion WILL NOT understand.

Live version every time
This is properly funny though. 😂😂😂😂 Haven't heard this in years.
yoooo is that an airbender necklace? that's awesome
MITSUBISHI COLT
A ANOTHER BEAT POEM BUT HE IS IN PIANO
And I support this version has more to offer than a live version

The live version is better. The animation distracts more than it adds and the delivery is better in the live. Also him introducing it adds to it

So the UK also has a shit school system then? 😂😂😂
lol it’s all we know, so we personally can’t really compare it to other countries’ 😅
I steel waiting for Dimash
It’s a shame you chose the animated version. Tim live is always your best bet!

Can anyone show that he is wrong with anything that he said?
Live version is much better.
You had me hooked until the palistine bull$#!+
Ad came up, had to comment 🤷♂️
