My daughter heard you guys read my comment today and said “you have been telling that story for years and nothing, but they tell it once and finally made it funny.” I told her “That’s why they’re comedians, and I sell insurance.” 😂 Thanks for many laughs guys! I AM most definitely your kind of ppl!!! 😁👍

My absolute favorite part of each episode is watching Aaron try not to absolutely LOSE IT when Dusty does his live read of an Ad. Everytime Dusty starts in Aaron lowers his head, pulls his hat down and tries to remain composed. His skin turns beet red and his entire body shakes as he tries to control his laughter. It makes me laugh outloud every single time. Keep it coming fellas!

I was wanting to watch a WW2 movie once and my wife said I could only watch one if Tom Hanks was in it. She thought Tom Hanks is to wholesome to be in a war movie. Little did she know he’s in one of the best WW2 movies of all time.

Tired mom of three (soon to be four) here. I love checking early on Wednesday mornings to watch the newest episode. It gives me the right amount of laughter and conspiracy theories to start out my day before homeschooling my children. If my kids grow up doubting the curvature of the Earth, I'll just blame you guys. Keep it up Folks!

Dusty is my favorite kind of conspiracy theorist. He simply presents his case and says, "I dunno" and moves on. It's also the best way to really get people to question things. Anyways, I love the podcast and all you guys. Im around aarons age, so when I listen to the podcast, it reminds me of hanging with my cool cousin and uncles late at night at a family party telling stories. (I also saw nate in northampton with my dad, and he was incredible. Mike vecchione made a joke about witches thinking we were near Salem and the crowd told him we were a long way away, lol. He was very funny)

Hey, guys - love the show! In fact, some of yalls sayings are a part of our family culture. My 16yo daughter walked into the kitchen while her dad and I were discussing an awkward situation we had had recently and she said, “We’re havin’ a good time.” 😜 We all laughed.
Wanted to let Dusty know that as a farmer here in Turtletown, TN we in fact do pay taxes. I was sitting here listening to the podcast while I milked goats and wanted to let him know. 🤓
Appreciate all of y’all making art that we can enjoy as a family without worrying about it having a negative impact.

The airline baggage discussion reminded me of the time my husband’s uncle visited for Christmas. He stayed for a few days and when loading the car to leave, he suddenly ran back in the house for one more bag. He said “Don’t want to forget this one! I have to return it to the baggage claim.” He had apparently grabbed someone else’s bag when he arrived, told no one, kept it with him his entire stay, and planned to return it on his way out of town.

My Dad is a pilot and he has some wild stories from his long career. One of my favorites is when someone tried to bring a dead body onto the plane, this was in the 80s or 90s when security was a little loose. Apparently its expensive to die in a foreign country and ship the body back home, so they wheeled him in on a wheelchair, apparently when they were trying to get him into the airplane chair it was pretty obvious to the flight attendants what was happening. If you thought sitting next to Bates would be bad, if someone happens to die on the plane, they just put a blanket over them and keep them in their seat, there is no where to take a body.

You guys all bring something truly special to the podcast. I very vividly remember reading Goofus and Gallant as a kid in Highlights. Dead chicken gun got me thinking about deer hunting season this year. My dad was using a propane heater to thaw the frost off of the widows of the deer blind he was in. The heat actually cracked the window. So instead of telling his buddy that he broke his stands window, he found a dead turkey on the side of the road and threw it at the window to make it look like the bird had flown into the window and died.

There are some words that are pronounced differently in the North but pronounced the same in the South. It would be awesome to hear Nate read the following:

A few months ago my wife and I decided to take a trip for our 10 year Wedding anniversary and settled on Seattle for 3 days. She is a huge procrastinator and even when we’re already late always still orders a Starbucks drink and has to stop making us even later.
I go to the desk and the service person says it’s because they require us to be there no later than 30 minutes prior to take off and had we been there 5 minutes sooner we would’ve been fine.
We were then put on standby and sat in the airport for approximately 16 hours before we finally got another flight out and ended up in Seattle for a day and a half.
So Nate, I understand when you called Brian a cow (cow-gate). I experience wife frustrations too. Only difference is I couldn’t never get away with comparing her to a cow.
Low and behold this happened the day we’re flying out to Seattle. We get to the airport with only about 30 minutes until takeoff. We get inside and it won’t let us check in.

Big fan, fairly new to the podcast. Ironic that I thought Aaron was the brains of the operation. Then I saw his website and noticed that it's hosted by MySpace, which I'm pretty sure doesn't exist anymore. I got excited because I saw that he was "Online Now" so I rummaged through my basement to find my dial-up modem and AOL login info. I'm hoping I'll get online in the next week or so to say hello. Also noticed that there's a link on his website to the exact same website that I'm already on, which takes you nowhere. Then I saw that his number one favorite movie is "jango unchained," which is not at all how that movie is spelled. That's some high-brow edumacation. Go Irish! Great show, guys, and I'll keep an eye out for future shows in the Western Connecticut area.

MADS (Multiply, Add, Divide, Subtract) is another math trick. Pick any number you want, multiply by 2. Add any even number. Divide by 2. Subtract the number you started with. Your answer will always be half of what you told them to add. Let's say you picked 15. Multiply by 2 (30), Add 10 (40), Divide by 2 (20), Subtract by 15 the number you started with = 5 (half of what you told them to add)

After hearing Nate correctly guessing that April Fools originated in the 1500s, then shortly after, make a joke using The War of 1812, the phrase “don’t go getting smart on me now, Nate” crossed my mind. Is this a new year, smarter Nate?
Cut to ten minutes later with Nate and the gang rattling off numbers for multiple minutes trying to make sense of algebra, and it calmed my concerns. New year, same old Nate. Keep on being average, because we don’t want another smart person podcast - we come here for the “mostly-accurate facts” wanting label. Love y’all, keep it up!

Regarding the song about domestic violence. Nate was right on. We rarely hear/see the victim's point of view, it's often the perpetrator, or in this case the saviour. When we don't see the victim's POV, it allows us to distance ourselves from the harsh reality of domestic violence - which isn't a good thing (I won't get too into it but you can work towards solving a problem that people don't acknowledge). On a lighter note, as a Canadian, I'm curious where up "north" in Canada Dusty went... Don't leave us hanging!

I recently flew to Nashville for a job interview. I had never flown with Southwest and did not know to check in. Needless to say I was third from last to board the plane. I walked towards the back and saw two open seats next to a Nun. I placed my bag above and asked if I could sit next to her. She said “the seatbelts are broken here” so I moved on and ended up in the last row squeezed between two larger gentlemen. When I got situated, I looked up and saw the two people behind me in the boarding process, now taking their seats next to the Nun. Nothing changed. No one came to fix any seatbelts.
Southwest’s boarding process is so infuriating it’s got Nun’s lying.

Not to be "that guy" (starting off with that absolutely means I'm about to be) but a lot serial killers were "good family men". Richard Kuklinski was a hit man for the mafia for many years, back in the 70s and 80s, yet he was living the white picket fence life with a wife and two daughters who never suspected a thing. I believe BTK had a similar family life. So in regards to Woody's dad, it's definitely plausible.
You're welcome for this unsolicited, creepy, pointless bit of info.

Hey guys love the podcast! It is the highlight of the week for me. I saw Nate in June when he was in Edmonton and would love to cross the rest of the “BAND” off of my list. Just wondering if anyone else has any plans to tour in Canada?

I’m a huge fan of all four of the guys and listen to every Nateland and every “We’re having a good time” podcast. I had a brother who drowned. I had no problem with Dusty saying it was bummer that the swimming hole was closed when a kid drowned. But when Dusty called the guy a “weak swimmer”, I thought that was insensitive and unnecessary. Still a huge fan, though.

Tom Hanks is a "bad guy" in Cloud Atlas and is STELLAR. He's basically a bad guy, posing as a good guy. It's a fantastic role! Also, David Mitchell's novels are pure gold

I’m a little behind because I stared playing a drinking game, I take a shot at every time one of y’all say “You know what I mean” so far it takes me a whole week to finish an entire episode

Regarding good actors I think Steve Carell is up there as well. Great at comedies and also serious roles. Regarding the movie Elvis. I very much enjoyed it. Gave me a new appreciation for Elvis. Austin Butler did a great job. Nateland podcast is the best and I really enjoy watching you all. Keep up the good work.

When I got my wisdom teeth out in college, my surgeon was a very quirky dude and referred to them as "wizzies". Its not very comforting to have a grown man tell you "So were removing 4 wizzies today?" when you're laying in a hospital bed about to get knocked out for surgery.

I enjoyed Nate, Aaron and Dusty having this in depth conversation about flying but I think it was unfair that y’all didn’t throw in some talk about taking Ubers so Breakfast could participate. Also, have you ever noticed how airports are like the last real crossroads of America?

Hahahaha right after I posted this Aaron mentioned how Nashville airport was rather first to allow Ubers and Lifts, and Brian goes “really?!?” He sounded so happy.

We flew home on the 30th and got stuck on the runway for hours on both our first flight and our connection. We were stuck for about 6 extra hours in total, but what REALLY got me was the pilot kept coming on and saying it would be "just a few minutes" for everything. Including when they had to POWER DOWN the plane and restart it like a troublesome internet router.

Watching Nate stumble on the war of 1812 was a Hoot!!
Fun fact- Airlines make most of their money off of their airline’s Credit cards.
They make billions without flying 1 plane.
Love the topics! Please do Michigan! Tim Allen would be a fun guest. Bill Burr enjoys our state as well😁

Glad to hear Nate got half his wisdom teeth out. I think it was the Human Body episode where Bean said we get them removed now because our brains grow larger. Nate sounded very concerned when he said "So my Brain can't grow as far?" Well Nate, now your brain is 50% of the way there to growing "as far"

At 43:57 , Aaron talks about a stretch of Tom Hanks movies in the 90s, and I swear he said this exact same thing in a previous episode. Does anyone else remember this?

Thank god Nate finally brought up Daniel Day Lewis. I was starting to freak out. That is the reason he is the best, cause he can play both good and bad guy. Tom cannot play a bad guy like DDL.

I'm with Aaron...I'm very Southwest loyal. They admitted their mistake, compensated us and hopefully are working toward updating. Saving a seat just for your spouse I think is okay...but more than one seat no way!

I was just in Nashville for New Years and was so upset there wasn't a show. Oh well, already got my tickets in the spring for this new tour and eagerly await the special coming this month (although probably saw most having gone to a live show last December)! Let's go folks!

December 21 is the first day of the winter solstice, when the days stall then become longer. That is technically the beginning of the new year. I don't wanna get in to it...
