The episode of Stans birthdays, she did something similar by taken the birthday present and giving them to her spoiled kid, and got into an argue with the birthday boy cause “you have to share,” and yes she doesn’t get invited anymore.
I literally had a bully like that growing up. We both were really similar actually; both had helicopter mother's, both had single mother's. If she went to some kid's birthday party (and in the 90's, you invited you whole class regardless if they were your friends or not), her mother would bring some presents for her to open "so she didn't feel bad that SHE had nothing to open". Whenever she beat some kid up at school, she insisted that "her little angel" was just misunderstood and the other kids picked on her, not the other way around! Technically, Liane (Cartman's mom) is the main cause of Eric being an awful sociopath in the first place. She is a single mom since she has never married (in 201, it's revealed she once let several people sleep with her, with Mr. Tenorman getting her pregnant with Cartman) so she only directs love with no discipline to the fat kid. Remember that she's the adult in this situation, she can assert dominance if her limits are broken, she did it in HUMANCENTIiPAD, but he is one of the only people she has, which makes her not want to. Her naivete has ruined not only Cartman's life, but several others.
and she actually has.....potential implications of grooming cartman. like huliminating cartman in a sexual way, enabling, lying about being a hermaphrodite, caused cartman to get 2 heart attacks by letting him eat unhealthy food, made a manipulative move in the first few minutes of the tsst episode by getting the counselor to sympathize with her even though she raised him to be this way...Yeah Liane is also the cause of Cartman becoming one of the homeless cuz she groomed him so hard she decided to ruin his life by kicking him out as a great fuck you as if the grooming wasnt enough and she turned him into the "put the fries in the bag" type alcoholic which is deserved and undeserved considering Liane actually ruined her son's life and made him become a criminal.
Liane is not the victim here. She's the reason Cartman is the way he is today. As proven in the Cesar episode, if she stood up then Cartman would quickly become a better person. I'm glad she's standing up for herself a bit more, but I can't really feel that bad for her. She definitely deserves redemption though.
It’s hard to blame someone for a bad parent child relationship when they were never given the tools or training to accomplish more. A good comparison would be “ the Florida project “ where a very young mother tries to navigate poverty with a 5 yr old child but isn’t mature enough or supported enough to do a good job.
True. But liane cant have redentions because altrough she's standing up from his son now, she isn't apporting a positive change for him, only she's standing up, but even she is triying to educate his son again to change his behavior, and his son already is how he is and he caused chaos to South Park. Cartman cant have redention of many people because he destroyed South Park many times, but he can change for growing as an sussesful person and with that even Kyle would forgive him.
I mean if we assume she had a really bad family (i.e was never taught what good relationships and being a good parent looks like) she is definitely a victim. On top of that its not like Liane caused Eric to become a sociopath, she enables it sure but Eric was evil from the start.
This might be a stretch, but I think that what Cartman did to Liane in "City People" is basically what Liane has been doing to Cartman all along. Both have the potential to be something good but rob each other of it for selfish purposes. Cartman has potential to be a good kid, but Liane robs him of that so she can have him all to herself. Liane has potential to be a good real estate agent...but Cartman robs her of that so he can keep her all to himself.
Loved this video man I really like Liane because of how genuinely sweet she is, seeing such a genuinely empathetic and understanding take on her character was a breath of fresh air amongst all the heartless people who like to demonize her
She is a bad mother because she never disciplines her son. She sees him do bad stuff daily, she never raises her voice, she lets him gets his way. He never gets punished by his mother
Leanne has raised a sociopath by spoiling him and codependency on him. If she had a good partner she wouldn’t be enabling him. This actually happens a lot in life. As a high school teacher some of the most maladjusted male students I’ve seen have an absolutely weird clingy helicopter single mom who has made her son think he’s the king of the world who never has to take accountability for anything. She’ll make excuses for him forever 😂😅
Thanks for a deep dive on Liane I honestly love her so much and there's hardly anyone ever talking about her and I honestly feel very bad for her cuz she's a very nice woman I'm also loving her improvement :3
But, dude she's a reason Cartman be like that. She didn't discipline him and spoil him. That's why he become evil. I don't hate kids I hate thier parents who enabling thier behaviour.
I geniuenly hate Liane. Lots of the south Park Fans i've known kept defending her, I really can't stand her. But i really Liked your Video on her, you're underrated
Nah, that one episode where she had a dog trainer turn her son around. And he was actually good doing his homework, dressing nicely, and being a good kid. Then she turned that all around when she realized that she didn't have anything anymore if her son wasn't a problem. I have no sympathy for this woman.
Liane Cartman made me realize that I don't hate spoiled children, I hate parents that enable bad behavior. Liane can be nice as a person, but as a parent, she is incredibly selfish. If you ask me, the fact that she spoils Cartman on purpose--as shown in the episode "Tsst"--is a form of abuse. Maybe not your everyday thought of what child abuse is, but still abuse, as she is preventing him from mentally growing and keeps him acting like a toddler or a puppy, not helping by the fact that she talks to him like he is exactly that (which I do find to be very irritating). Another notable thing about her is that she only punishes Cartman seriously if he does something that negatively affects her, which just shows how self-centered she really is. She just doesn't care that much if he's behaving horribly towards someone else and just mildly scolds him. Yes, I know that she is lonely and wants a friend, but that isn't a good excuse for intentionally being a bad parent. She knows what she's doing, as shown in the aforementioned "Tsst". In all honesty, I wanted to feel bad for her with that whole hotdog situation, but given how she was responsible for making Cartman so spoiled by enabling his behavior no matter what, I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I really hope she keeps acting like a mother in the next season. As a parent, you are the one responsible for how you help guide your child. If you enable bad behavior and spoil them, they come out entitled and selfish, and if you're too strict and punish them for every mistake while barely explaining anything--like Stephen and Linda do to Butters--they will end up becoming afraid and meek. The best way to parent lies somewhere in the middle: Bond with your kids by all means, but set boundaries so they don't go around thinking they can do whatever they want. Don't become friends with your kids, or push those boundaries too far. Edit: Perhaps the environment Cartman grew up in also had to do with him becoming the sociopath he is. South Park is a hellish town, the first episode shows that aliens straight up SA'd him, and he was ripped on by Kyle and sometimes Stan often when he was just a little annoying fat boy more than anything (I don't remember Kenny doing such things as often, but then again, he is not used as much, and his voice is muffled so we have to guess what he says). Plus there is the thing with Scott Tenorman picking on him ruthlessly without any help from his friends who just laughed at him and straight up admitted that they hate him. And even though Cartman goes overboard with his revenge, you do have to admit Scott Tenorman was a real jerk to a kid much younger than him and he needed some form of comeuppance. However, Trey Parker has said that Liane is the biggest reason why Cartman is the way he is, as he would see some parents enabling their children to the point of becoming friends with them, and he thought, and I quote, "These people are making these really evil kids".
If you check out the scripts from early seasons, Kenny says some absolutely savage stuff to/about Cartman. But he gets away with it on TV because his voice is muffled.
Honestly, even if she is part of the reason why the monster known as Eric Cartman exists, I still always felt a little bad for Liane. I am glad she's learning to say no to her son more in the latest seasons. Also, the townspeople hate her promiscuous ways despite most of them sleeping with her, so that seems a little hypocritical to me.
Cartman is the best character. South Park wouldn’t have gone on half as long without him. Him and Randy are responsible for like 75 percent of story lines
fall of 2019 was a hell of a time to take a stance in favor of kids don't need vacc if their parents say they don't. awersome job again, matt and trey!
I feel like Cartman is adopted, and the reason why Liane was sleeping around with everyone but she was unable to do so and when she adopted/found she enables his bad behavior because she feels he is the only thing she has she has no husband, no other kids so she treats him more like a friend.
@@Piru_Devil well you probably pulled this theory out of your *ss because she and cartman along with the other kids visited the cartman extended family and they're all literally grown up versions of cartman 💀
Liane is really trying for eric. I feel bad because the only way she can support Eric is through prostitution. While this is bad, she has no specific set of skills that could lead her to getting another job (besides when she becomes a real estate agent) but I feel like the reason Liane is such an enabler is that she is extremely lonely. She has never found a man that stayed with her throughout the series. Eric is the only person she has readily available to love and to love her back. I don't think that Eric learned his ways through Liane, I think these were emotions he passively learned throughout his life. It must've been tough for Eric growing up with no father, however this doesn't excuse his actions and straight up hate crimes. All-around I think Liane is a good person, not a good mother, but she is getting better throughout the series and I really appreciate that Matt and Trey are developing her role throughout the seasons.
South park Parents from worst to best: Cartman Butters Kenny Tweak Clyde Stan Kyle Craig Tolkien Jimmy Jimmy’s parents are probably the only ones we havent seen do something completly evil.
At least in the season 25 episode 3 we saw liane breaking out of her nice mom after years of abuse, and after that she actually stop her nice mom, guess cartman finally broke her
I do truly believe the only way Southpark can have a significant ending would be if in the final episode Liane snaps and kills Eric..... I kinda think this is the ultimate arc the writers are heading towards and the only one that would give closure
At the end of the South Park special titled Post Covid: The Return of Covid, Cartman ends up becoming homeless in the future at the age of 50 so I don't think that Liane is going to kill her own son, probably disown Cartman and Cartman will probably die in the snow from hypothermia sometime in his 50s.
@@penguinspenguins2376 OMG are you seriously trying to bring 'cannon' logic to Southpark? he also went into the future and fought against beavers.... and don't try to make out that killing off such a disgusting character would be somehow unethical they crossed that line in season 1

I can’t remember which episode it is in, but there’s a great scene of Liane and Randy sharing a joint, where she breaks down about Eric. After watching the dickinbaus hotdogs episode, I think The ending of post covid part 2 really make sense, i thought cartman’s actions in city people would lead to him being homeless, but he returned to his house unfortunately, my headcanon is that even if Liane startrd to put her foot down but cartman never learns, until the series gets cancelled, him as a homeless person will always be jis permanent future
Listen to her tone at the end of the Tsst episode. Liane is terribly aware of how this works and knows it's wrong, but she can't keep herself from using Eric the way she does because otherwise she'd be alone. She knows very well she's between a rock and a hard place.

Cartmans character concept is intended to be as evil as possible to represent all evil in the world, it was stated. Idk if its still the case, tp go for that concept but i think it just fits. Mf is a menace
in spite of liane’s shortcomings as a parent, i don’t think she can be blamed completely for how eric is. she fails to control him, but i don’t think her parenting style is the reason he’s so evil. it may be the reason he’s spoiled and out of control, but his most evil deeds don’t seem to come from her. the monster was inside him from the start

and she actually has.....potential implications of grooming cartman. like huliminating cartman in a sexual way, enabling, lying about being a hermaphrodite, caused cartman to get 2 heart attacks by letting him eat unhealthy food, made a manipulative move in the first few minutes of the tsst episode by getting the counselor to sympathize with her even though she raised him to be this way...Yeah Liane is also the cause of Cartman becoming one of the homeless cuz she groomed him so hard she decided to ruin his life by kicking him out as a great fuck you as if the grooming wasnt enough and she turned him into the "put the fries in the bag" type alcoholic which is deserved and undeserved considering Liane actually ruined her son's life and made him become a criminal.
@UNfairMario870 Dang I thought she was just a naive enabler she can't be that down bad 💀💀☠️
@@gojoseph2284 oh yeah you can check in the South Park Wikipedia
They also said she had both genders
Liane is not the victim here. She's the reason Cartman is the way he is today. As proven in the Cesar episode, if she stood up then Cartman would quickly become a better person. I'm glad she's standing up for herself a bit more, but I can't really feel that bad for her. She definitely deserves redemption though.
It’s hard to blame someone for a bad parent child relationship when they were never given the tools or training to accomplish more. A good comparison would be “ the Florida project “ where a very young mother tries to navigate poverty with a 5 yr old child but isn’t mature enough or supported enough to do a good job.
@@PistachioBandit if you don't know how to parent don't have a child
Exactly people are to dumb to ever actually blame the adults they just want to blame Cartman
Loved this video man
I really like Liane because of how genuinely sweet she is, seeing such a genuinely empathetic and understanding take on her character was a breath of fresh air amongst all the heartless people who like to demonize her
What do you mean?
Heartless people who like to demonize her?
Heartless people? 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
@@Im.a.joke_01what the fuck is this guy on lmao
She is a bad mother because she never disciplines her son. She sees him do bad stuff daily, she never raises her voice, she lets him gets his way. He never gets punished by his mother
Yes she punishes and stands up, but that doesnt do nothing even.
Ropemaxx u racist
Leanne has raised a sociopath by spoiling him and codependency on him. If she had a good partner she wouldn’t be enabling him. This actually happens a lot in life. As a high school teacher some of the most maladjusted male students I’ve seen have an absolutely weird clingy helicopter single mom who has made her son think he’s the king of the world who never has to take accountability for anything. She’ll make excuses for him forever 😂😅
Has anyone seen Caesar Milan's reaction video to Tsst!? I think its on TH-cam.. he acts a bit like he was actually there and disciplined Cartman 😂

You have such good music choice for your videos, holy shit.
Definitely abuse but it's at least out a place of love in this particular case.
@@polocatfan yeah but the fact that she knows what she's doing rubs me the wrong way :
If you check out the scripts from early seasons, Kenny says some absolutely savage stuff to/about Cartman. But he gets away with it on TV because his voice is muffled.
@@alexvaughan1013 he was notably more savage in earlier seasons, wasn't he?
But like I said, I would have never known. We have to guess what he says.
Liane should be in a rehabilitation center
Honestly, even if she is part of the reason why the monster known as Eric Cartman exists, I still always felt a little bad for Liane. I am glad she's learning to say no to her son more in the latest seasons.
Also, the townspeople hate her promiscuous ways despite most of them sleeping with her, so that seems a little hypocritical to me.
calling chris chan a mom expert is fucking diabolical
Who is Cartmans dad? Is it Chef, Officer Barbraidee, The Denver Broncos of 1979?
U can just hear the voice man.
I'm the bat dad. He we go Denver he we go hu hu. I want you Mars i want u
@@ghettolicerx2 I got Cartman as a tattoo....when he thought, Chef was his dad🤣🤣🤣....the Flavor Flav outfit was killer
It's Mr. Tenorman.
Scott’s dad.
I think the reason why liann becomes strict in the recent seasons is because she's sick and tired of Eric's shit
Cartman is the best character. South Park wouldn’t have gone on half as long without him. Him and Randy are responsible for like 75 percent of story lines
Amazing video but I can’t get over the usage of Clint Eastwood midway through the video 😂
i just noticed!
fall of 2019 was a hell of a time to take a stance in favor of kids don't need vacc if their parents say they don't. awersome job again, matt and trey!
you really made a difference, didn't you, again?
Then Randy F-d a pangolin, and the 'vaccines cause autism' argument kind of got overshadowed!
I feel like Cartman is adopted, and the reason why Liane was sleeping around with everyone but she was unable to do so and when she adopted/found she enables his bad behavior because she feels he is the only thing she has she has no husband, no other kids so she treats him more like a friend.
Nah, they visited her family for one Xmas special - Liane is the odd one out, not Eric.
@@Piru_Devil well you probably pulled this theory out of your *ss because she and cartman along with the other kids visited the cartman extended family and they're all literally grown up versions of cartman 💀

Something of note. In the post covid special, cartmen turned out pretty fine in the end so she probably was able to set him back on a right path
@@triwolfdelta737 nope that was because his friends were pushing him back, it's literally explained in the special 😭
All-around I think Liane is a good person, not a good mother, but she is getting better throughout the series and I really appreciate that Matt and Trey are developing her role throughout the seasons.

goobly bop, here is your youtube engagement money
@@MDFMKisKMFDM When I watched Post Covid: The Return of Covid, I was very convinced that the ending to the special was endgame for the characters and not one future out of many different possibilities. I'm glad your channel got recommended to me again because now this time I'm going to subscribe. I can't believe I haven't even thought about this. I mean I definitely noticed that she was standing up to her son at the seasons continued. And maybe it's a coincidence but I feel like I noticed her standing up to her son a lot more often when she started wearing that trench coat. Like maybe that was supposed to be a reflection of a personality change?
You do know the 2 tickets to Madame Butterfly is a reference to a similar scene in the movie Fatal Attraction? I love those Easter eggs when they are so apropos.
So good to see someone stick up for Cartmans mom
Took a second to realize why the music was so familiar! Friggin Dean Town by Vulfpeck! Subscribed immediately lol
I always thought that the whole point South Park was trying to make was that Cartman is the way he is because he’s the child of a single mom.
Cartman's downfall is not having a father. Lian's a great mother.
It’s impossible not to hear the Clint Eastwood instrumental

I like your videos but I think the music in the background is too loud, and it isn’t really needed in general. It gets a bit distracting. But great video! ❤
She's so sweet. Too sweet for her own good.
I can’t remember which episode it is in, but there’s a great scene of Liane and Randy sharing a joint, where she breaks down about Eric. I think it’s in the episode where Cartman needs to be vaccinated. I love her character in the recent seasons! The storyline around the hot dog house is so good and the ending of Dick n Balls is all from her and it’s hilarious.
That's nothing. Have you ever met my friend Kyle's mom?

Love the empathy towards Liane
Why? She barely deserves any empathy, she digged her own fucking hole and still tries to blame cartman for it 😭✋
i think the flu shot she tanked for him actually made her a competent mother lmao
She knows very well she's between a rock and a hard place.

i just think having a character this fleshed out is cool, even if it's mostly in the background. she might not be a good person or a good mother, but she's a good character for the show in my opinion.
I think she was mad geeked
15:07 I ain‘t happy, i‘m feelin glad 🗣️🗣️
Cartmans character concept is intended to be as evil as possible to represent all evil in the world, it was stated. Idk if its still the case, tp go for that concept but i think it just fits. Mf is a menace
in spite of liane’s shortcomings as a parent, i don’t think she can be blamed completely for how eric is. she fails to control him, but i don’t think her parenting style is the reason he’s so evil. it may be the reason he’s spoiled and out of control, but his most evil deeds don’t seem to come from her. the monster was inside him from the start
