    Your last comment hit the nail on the head, the gears wakes these cars up! And props to you to actually do mods and take it to the track and give results! Some people who add mods and then say well I think it will do blah blah at the track. Until it hits the track all unproven. You and few others do it right! Much appreciated. As you know I put 390’s in my 2010, my 60ft went from 2’s to best of 1.8’s on atturo 800’s all season tires. Hopefully we can meet up and do a 6spd/8spd vs Nag1 much up. Keep up with the great information!

    I finally found my answer, it's been driving me crazy..I picked up an 2018 challenger T/A 5.7 in July and was really surprised how fast the 0-60 felt..then raced my buddy's 18 coyote and didn't get absolutely destroyed like a normal RT would ..I knew It had the option 3.90s but I didn't think it made that much of a difference in the mid range /roll racing in Mexico

    Nice car! I've had a 2010 Rt bought new with just Torred manual and 3.92 axle. Been Procharged since 2015. No other messing with the motor past oem Procharger tune and SLP exhaust. Katzkin custom interior. Such a stunner I always get compliments and eyeballs everywhere. Bout now, I'm really wanting either shorty's or longtubes for more power, and considering just going to the slightly smaller pully they started offering some years back that allows 7 or 8 psi. Even just the headers would satisfy my need to unlock just a bit more grunt. Otherwise, I still have nothing but fun being challenged by just about everyone on the road who thinks their car will roast a 345. Probably more dorks in G-35's than anything. Sunny day driver only for the warmer half of the year. 35k mi. I think I was the first person to do tire letters in Omaha NEB back in 15'. Cars earned a basement full of show trophies. Enjoy the Happy Hemi

    I'm not hearing anybody saying anything about a peddle box . Would you have to unlock the pcm to get the best performance outa it or a peddle box's just not necessary ?

    Did you ever get it dyno'd? It would be interesting to see if you saw an increase in torque on the dyno graph. The track times would indicate that you are definitely putting more torque to the rear wheels. Side note, I see so many Mopar 11 videos with the 3.9fd & nag1 setup and none are showing a 15-20% bump in torque over "stock or similar year 5.7 Charger's". Maybe I'm just interpreting/reading the dyno's incorrectly. 3.07 to 3.90 is a 21% increase!

    Don't know how people can afford the insurance on these Challenger R/T's. Even the SXT and GT's are expensive to own.Here in South Florida monthly auto ins.payments on a GT are $375.00.

      @@CarBlindyt If you can't afford mickeys (they're pretty expensive, for me at least) the tires I run are firehawk indy 500's. They're sports tires with very good handling and grip, and no road sound. Also, unlike most sports tires they actually work in the rain lol! Good for summertime where I am (minnesota), we often get really heavy rain and my RT is my daily. 2014 RT redline with a CAI, Corsa catback exhaust, shift kit

      But The cost difference. I don’t have much at all in the car. For it to run 12s almost bone stock is a good achievement especially for what it weights. But I get what you mean.

    How much did gas mileage lessen with the new gearing? More info requested on the rear, just new internals? An entire new rear? New or salvage yard rear? Did you have to recalibrate the trans shifting after the replacement rear was installed? Do most "off the lot" Challenger RTs have open rears? Sorry for all the questions 😁

    • @CarBlindyt
      @CarBlindyt  ปีที่แล้ว

      No problem!
      The gas mileage had almost 0 change.
      The swap was a totally new rear end section pumpkin and all. I have other videos on the process if you are confused. With newer cars like this, 2015 and up i believe. re-calibration is not necessary but can be done with a tuner. I have not done this and have had 0 problems. I would say a large amount of challenger R/T's have open rears. Its the next step up scat pack's and SRT8 challengers that are posi from factory.
      Hope this helps!

      @@CarBlindyt I'm a retired auto body mechanic/ body shop owner/"regular" mechanic. Swapping a rear is not new to me. I am ( at this point), 90% sure I'll be getting a Challenger RT by this coming late Spring/early Summer. Doubt it'll be brand new, maybe no more than 3 years old. I hate an open rear! Was your rear from a wrecked Challenger ? What's something like that run (approx. of course)?

    • @CarBlindyt
      @CarBlindyt  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stevesmith6236 Awesome! Owning one of these cars is such a thrill! Open rears are a huge downfall with these cars and I 100% recommend swapping them! Whether it does or not needs a dyno to prove. Regardless, it's worth it for the sound. I put a cat back 3" magna flow on my T/A. Did it add power...🤷‍♂️
