- In this video I review the 2023 Ford F150 XL STX. This (in my opinion) is the best balance of affordability and features.. You don't get the fancy 360 camera, pano roof, leather seats, but you get what you NEED and a bit more.. I think this is one of the only affordable new trucks on the market that actually looks good, and is actually nice.

On 5/13/24 I bought a 2023 STX supercrew cab 6 cyl ecoboost, 2 wheel drive left over for $43.500! Brand new from Parks Ford in Wesley Chapel FL. There are still 2023's out there..... Memorial Day sales are here 1.9 finance, 72 months. I love it, best purchase I ever made!

have the same exact truck. i love it. didnt want to spend an additional $15-20k on stuff I didnt really need, so I thought this was the perfect truck to build as a daily driver. let the mods begin...

@@703Speed just the essentials. tint, wheels, tires, leveling kit/coilovers + OEM raptor headlight conversion and will be painting some aspects of the truck to paint match like the door handles

I waited! Got a brand new 2023 XL STX left over for $43, 500 from Parks Ford in West Chase Fl on 5/13/24! Best purchase I ever made! Truck is ridiculously great! Love it, have patience... actually 2023 are on sale 2.9 finance for the 150s for Memorial day weekend!

What a clown world we live in where a base model truck sells for $50k and that’s considered “affordable”. What a joke.
Those fish eye mirrors really work, I had them in my Mustang and there is literally zero blind spots. I do not have them on my STX, I have those sensors. I am a hands on guy and probably prefer the fish eye. I don't like relying on technology.
The good news is that dealer lots are filling up with full size pickups at all manufacturers. People are just saying no to the over-inflated pricing on these new trucks. Be patient and manufacturers and dealers will have no choice but to lower prices - dramatically.
Exactly. I find it insane that right before covid you could get an XLT F150 for $37K with driver and passanger powered seats, tow package, 5.0 v8, etc etc and now that same truck the price has inflated $18,000 to $55K. I just hope when the bubble pops these companies get really hurt.
50k is not affordable unless you make $12-15k per month. At 60 months that's basically $1k per month not including insurance, gas or maintenance. So roughly $1200-1500 per month total. You should never spend more than 10% of your earning on a car if you care ab quality of life as you age. People make stupid decisions all the time, so I know ppl will balk at the notion that they can't afford something even though they can technically make the payment. This is why 80% of people live paycheck to paycheck.
and this is 50k for a base model truck, 4 years ago you could buy a loaded king ranch for this price
Nahhhh you could get a king ranch for 65 a few years ago. Maybe 50 for a KR like 10 years ago

A oing ranch for 65 was right before covid hit. I dont see how people aee okay with these horrible prices ans even more so for anbaee bones work truck, it’s ridiculous.
I would have hoped people would boycott these truck manufacturers until they lower the prices. Hell, a RAM Warlock gives more features that this at $43k.
All these truck manufactures are pricing themselves outnof the market and its hilarious watching the CEO’s looking crosseyed and say “well, why aren’t people buying our trucks anymore….gilp gilp gilp.”

Not bad bro! I'm a fan of F-150's. A few favorites of mine are the XLT, Platinum, and the XL here. 50K for a 2023 truck isn't actually that bad as some of the guys here are making it out to be. Hell this truck is surprisingly loaded for the price
That's what im saying. Since I do these videos im always seeing the prices of trucks from base models to the loaded limiteds, and nowadays, 50k is a good deal for something that's brand new. It's unfortunate, but its just the way it is

Just got the V8 it’s fast! Traded in 2020 XLT crew cab, wanted bigger motor and different color. Had white got the grey. Mine came with nice rubber floor mats for front and big one for rear. Kind of like the Weather Tech they are nice 👍

Too much. $55k sticker. Put $15k down, $408/month 2year lease, then I’ll deal with it…
My Tacoma got smashed by a red light runner and on current Covid schedule the repair eta is n/a. Never had anything but a 4 cyl so I said “what the heck!”

@@703Speed Coming from a long line of underpowered cars (‘99 cavalier, ‘08 Corolla, ‘13 4cyl taco) yes, very much so. I know the 3.5 ecoboost is a powerful monster, there’s just something about putting turbos on a truck that doesn’t sit well with me. Put that stuff on your race cars, keep it off my truck:)
I have a 2019 f150 xlt 4x4 stx paid 38k out the door brand new. Glad I got my truck when I did.

@703Speed if I recall correctly 35k msrp and 3800 or so for the stx package. They had a deal going on and with all the fees and registration I was just over 38k out the door including zero % Apr on the loan through the Ford dealership. That was reasonable at the time. Buying a vehicle is becoming a burden many can't afford these days.

It is “affordable” in todays market with mid level trucks being 65k. It’s insane to me that a base truck is $50k tho. Auto makers need to come to their senses and realize that it’s hard to afford a $50k truck. Especially the base model. My uncle bought his 2016 XLT SCREW 2.7 4x4 (loaded up) and the msrp was $48. Now it’s 65ish. Insane

I bought a 75 f-150 series last week the key don't do remote start but ur phone app will remote start it ..the only problem I have is the shifter comes out of park to eszy. I paid 47.400 with tinted windows, ss
The fact that just an stx cost $50,000 nowadays is crazy, the 05 lariat we used to have was about 37/38k brand new, about 58k in todays money
It was just 4 years ago you could get a 2WD STX SuperCrew with the 2.7 for $28k - $32K here in Texas (with manufacturer and dealer incentives). When these drop to $35K I'll be interested.
@@Julian_C826 The issue is that new car / truck prices have significantly outpaced inflation. From 2019 to 2023 inflation has increased 16%, but the F150 has increased in price at a much higher rate, somewhere around 30% - 40%.. Ford got greedy with their pricing and it's going to come back and bite them in the arse.

I just got my 23 built in 11/23. Black SXT Appearance Pkg $3300. 5.0L $2300. 3.31 Axle, Trailer hitch. No running boards. Vynil Flrs but has 102A pkg. Somebody built this thing and didnt buy it. The deep blue paint is stunning. The standard height seat sucks. $49,393 MSRP. Sadly my 2012 Harley Davidson F150 6.2L was $50,525 MSRP and settled 44,600 + ttl

To be fair....the crewcab 4x4 configuration like this truck in the video with no other options started at 37k in 2017 with the base engine. Nearly 40 with 3.5. You can get XLs on sale right now for 45-49 so yes, inflation but not quite THAT much.

I am curious as to the overall tire size (rim plus + tire). Are the 20 inch rims giving off the same wheel size as the 17 inch base rims? Do they adjust for the side-wall difference?

Yes I believe the sidewall on the 20” wheels is smaller than the standard 17” wheels

It’s an XL! It should be in the 30’s not 50 range. I don’t like that new pickups that are basically suvs with a bed. Starting to look too much like those ugly ass Chevy avalanches. I also don’t like the ecoboost engines nor do I like start stop technology (not sure if start stop is on this truck). I would also prefer a manual transmission. I don’t like those 20 inch wheels either.
