This actually have a reputation for being very good in low light, and the pictures I have seen certainly give me that impression. Maybe it’s the best in low light of all compact cameras actually.

That large aperture is great in low light for sure. I'm happy with the low light images from it. It may be best in class low light as your said. Thanks for watching and commenting!

You're welcome. I had a difficult time deciding between the lensemate and the magfilter. Really the only reason I decided to go lensemate was for weight purposes. I like to go backpacking and having the lighter camera has been a great advantage. I hope you find something that works for you. I hear the ND filters can really make a difference in the photo quality.

You can buy a magfilter for this lx10 at 52mm, and add an nd filter 52mm

Thanks so much I will have to check that out!

There is also an aftermarrket filter atachment made by lensemate that you can use for different filters. I just ordered on from Amazon yesterday for $25.99.
it does not include the filter itself but is supposed to be compatible with any 52mm lense of the correct thread pitch.
I haven't yet received it so I don't know how it will work out. But it is another option just to add to the magfilter brand as mentioned by the prior post.

    Anything other than Macro shots?

    • @PhotoGearFun
      @PhotoGearFun  7 ปีที่แล้ว

+Free Conomics it does a good job with all types of shots I just like macro photography. The zoom range isn't as wide as other cameras of this type but I find it gets most wide to mid telephoto shots.

Anyone owning that camera had a trouble with the sound the camera makes? It sounds like a ventilation from the inside. Only when the lens is out. Some says the noise comes from the stabilisation or autofocus, but it sounds very noisy to be just that?
I just got that camera and I've had an hybrid one for years without any sound like that.
I might sound dumb but I'd really like to know if it is a normal thing.

I haven't really noticed that issue with mine. Maybe something is wrong with the one you have? Hopefully someone else can weigh in here but mine seems fine. Cheers.

@@PhotoGearFun I've had a few people owning one saying they didn't notice anything.
Considering I received the camera yesterday and it was already on.. Turning on today and I lost a third of the battery when I used it for 20min approx.
So definitely something wrong with it, I believe :/
thank you for your kind reply.

Thanks? I wouldn't really call it a beard more like a few days of growth and me being to lazy to shave. Cheers.

I bought Panasonic LUMIX LX10 20.1MP Leica DC Optical Zoom in october.
at first I thought it was just the worst camera I ever held in my hands in the past 40 years of taking photographs. This includes 2 other panasonic cameras I own, but after trying to make it work for 1 1/2 months, I think the motherboard might be just damaged.
    This camera behaves neurotic.
-the manual setting sometimes works, most of the time it doesn't- changing the shutter speed doesn't change the exposure.
    -Macro zoom doesn't focus.
-The settings turned itself on to the burst mode and I could not reset this with going back to a single frame; I had to reset to factory settings to get rid of the 16 !!!! frames with every release of the shutter.
-The screen touch frame to set the focusing area sometimes is available, sometimes it is not.
-The icons on the screen are all over, sometimes I can turn them off, sometimes not.
-the picture quality worse than any camera I ever owned.
In short: I don't have any control over my shots.
overall: this camera is doesn't perform even like a $200 camera in its class.
Panasonic will not accept shipping from abroad, will not cover shipping charges to their center, then they will repair or replace with a refurbish model. I will never buy another Panasonic if this is how they respond to the faulty camera for which I paid the full price.
I will not pay $100 shipping from abroad to a family member to ship it to Texas, then back to US address, then back to me abroad so I can get a second hand camera. I refuse to participate it this Panasonic circus.
I will just keep writing this review at least one time a months on Amazon since sellers to remove negative reviews change listings.
I will post this comment on every youtube "independent" review of this camera.

Panasonic is notorious for bad service. Before buying a camera one should first check the service record of the brand.

I have owned this camera for quite a while and haven’t had any issues with it. I agree your experience was a terrible one. Replacing a defective camera with a refurb is a very common practice in the electronics world. As for my “independent” review I bought the camera with my own money and my review most certainly independent. Sorry you had such a bad experience with your camera.

Vous auriez pu lire le mode d' emploi. Tous les désagréments que vous listez n' en sont pas ; ce sont des paramètres modifiables à votre gré. Cet appareil est étonnement complet fiable et performant ; probablement trop pour vous.

@@Pazto I agree, I bought it for 4K and I don't want a telephoto lens. A pocket camera./ I had a Lumix TZ 1, which suddenly deteriorated in quality after about 5 years of excellent photos. The LX 15 drove me crazy after I bought it, I made dozens of very bad photos. I also thought it was a faulty product / focusing, metering, etc. I was attracted to manual control. Then one user advised me to switch to IA and turn on the flash manually, then the photos were better. I delved into the manual again and found out that I'm an idiot who can't do it / 71 years old/. So I'm testing, something is really excellent.
But the menu is complicated as hell. It's a good camera but for an expert.
