Not the best looking 5 series (this style will not age well) but it's growing on me slowly. I can't believe for the entire 2024 BMW line up the X3 is the best looking BMW 😂 a few years ago I would have laughed if someone predicted this
every single generation of bmw was perfect, we had the f generation that was beautiful, f82, f80, f90, f10, f30, f15 and now we have this ugly g generation, we need a petition to get this new designer sacked

Why is it bigger, for our roads and parking spaces are not increasing in size?
Is there a storage space for shopping bags in the boot?
Do we still need to buy a dash cam or is the feed from the cameras being recorded and recoverable?

I’m currently on my 5th 5 Series, my first being a 2009 I believe. During that time the car has transitioned from a mid-size, nimble sports sedan into a much bigger, more luxurious car that is no longer nimble. It seems more like a 7-Series now. And they just keep adding more high tech bells and whistles.
As they should. Previous interiors looked old and crusty as hell. Who said you can't have it all?
Previous generation was much better looking and inside was much more practical with physical buttons.
I will never understand this trend of putting piano black over everything you touch, it is like finger print magnet everywhere.

Amen dude, i can't understand why people keep saying it's 'So nice and futuristic', it looks like ass with a cheap tablet stuck into the dash they load the correct 'spec' into regardless of physical configuration. Toss in some RGB all around to blind you so people can't see how bad it looks i guess :D

I think the exterior of this new 5 is not a good looking car like most new bmw it's a shame was hoping for a good looking car. I think the new E-class looks good!

When I first saw the exterior I was exited about it and wanted to own one as I have a G30 now. but after seeing the disaster from the interior I will get the G30 facelift and wait for the next generation of 5 series in about 6-7 years time. by a mile one of the most hideous interior BMW have ever produced.

I’ll need to get that if I was to get that it have to be the competition version that e model is already a beast tho 590 hp so the competition do like 617 or 625 which not by that much I still like a little more power tho and aggressive looks the only thing I don’t like is the back lights I like the last model back lights better

The first thing I thought was, but I saw the designer who was interviewed saying this 5 series is specifically designed around the i5 and designed to house a massive battery hence why it looks hump-ish in the mid with steep sloping hood and trunk (think Telsa and Prius). This makes it looks less streamlined and flat than previous 5 sseries even though it's bigger.

This car is nearly as long as previous 7 series versions and the same width. Shame it won't get m550i version with V8, perhaps new M5 will get it
Let's be honest, it's a garbage design. Plasticky grill, flat sides, horrible TV screen dash, no sporty character etc. etc. Ditch the designers.
as f10 owner, it is very uggly exterior and interior. it looks so cheap. too many shapes, unconfident. new mercedes is much better, looks like bmw than the bmw
Ive got a G30 and it is a much more beautiful car both interior and exterior. Don't like touchscreen, its a fingerprint magnet, better with old fashioned buttons and the steeringwheel is ugly. They removed the Iid over the cupholders in the front. The back of the frontseats dont have a pocket and the doorsides are smaller for storage.I think ill hold on to mine a few more years..
They fucked up the whole 5 line with this car. End of an era.

In my opinion (obviously) BMW are going down the wrong track design wise. This runs across all of their product lines...they've put out very few, good looking, models as of lately... Sad to see.

Steering wheel looks absurd.
The interior is just horrible. Steering wheel looks like it's mounted upside down, the light bar all around looks like a cheap 1960's disco and everything is touchscreen crap. I don't need a motor and 3 buttons to change the oriëntation of the air vents, the mechanical way it's been done forever worked just fine (and easier). Going into a touchscreen to find the option for the heated seats? No more gear knob and the entire thing is full of crap plastic that shows fingerprints like mad.
Cars get made more and more cheaply, by putting all options in some menu they can easily enable/disable features without the cost of actually putting in a physical button. Sadly reviewers (like yourself) keep praising them for 'clean and futuristic look' while all it does is drive down manufacturer cost.
My F11 was a serious step up from the E61, the wife's G31 was going into touchscreen madness but this is just a letdown.

All that childish amazement with ambient lighting reminds me of those 2000's sneakers with lights in them. So stupid and pointless when you think about it for more than 5 seconds.

I sat in the newest X1i which has the same display as this and damn you can tell they try so hard to be like Tesla. All the modern BMW since 2022 are way to minimalistic, clean and boring

yes, interior is awful. Sterile. Getting rid of just about all buttons was terrible idea.
Downgrade.... looks terrible, more like a Mercedes than a BMW. I can see sales taking a dump, especially with younger buyers.... this looks like an old mans car.

Noting nice about this exterior expect the interior that’s all I’m liking coming from bmw enthusiast having 5 bmws and 2 Mercedes I hate the design crew they need to be fired

This car is ugly. It is neither sporty nor elegant. Area behind C pillar should go uppwards but it is going down like on old peugeots. Rims are too small. LED interior is not nice. Like some aftermarket chinese bullshit.
