Did a tourniquet break!? Testing 6 different tourniquets

- Here I test 6 different tourniquets. North American Rescue CAT, SOF-T, RATS, Rhino Rescue CAT, SWAT-T, and the Slishman Pressure Wrap. Here they go through water/mud testing simulating them getting nasty on your gear and if they would work if you had to use one after that. #medical #tourniquet #tactical #leo #edc #military

The RATS gets a bad name, not because it doesn't stop blood flow, it does, but due to how narrow the band is. That narrow band will quickly result in nerve damage and possible loss of the limb. This is why TQs used to be a "last resort" intervention. The CAT and SOF-T have 1.5 to 2 inch width bands; this precludes the nerve damage and allows the TQ to be left on much longer (The current combat record is 18+ hours for the CAT without loss of function to the limb).
I agree with you. Studies have shown that even nerve damage from that can be extremely rare. And with training and practice you can wrap the RATS in a way that will give you that 1.5-2 inch width. Especially when you are applying it to others. I appreciate you watching and the comment!
I glad I watched this because I just ordered 2 of the Rhino's to add to my med supplies-
Just make sure they are the metal handle versions. I’ve not tested the others so I can’t vouch for those. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Just bought 4 Rhinos from amazon. Glad to hear they are good. The NAF CATS are just too expensive.
That’s awesome brother! I love NAR but if I find something that works just as good I’m going to let everyone know! I really appreciate the comment! PS: make sure it’s the METAL rhino rescue tourniquets! That’s the only ones I’ve tested and can verify that holds up.
I think the ones I bought are plastic. :( But now I know to get the metal ones. @@preparedcitizens
@@bobbyb7127 you could still use them for training or just return them. On my website I sell the genuine metal ones that come directly from Rhino Rescue.
I will have to check out your website for sure.@@preparedcitizens
This isn’t talked about enough
I 💯 agree!
@@preparedcitizens keep educating man I like seeing content showing the other side of gun ownership
@@kickzandcannonstv man I really appreciate that! I’m a small business that focuses on helping people be more prepared for craziness through firearms and medical training. I also sell medical kits and include manuals with them because I know not everyone can afford the cost or time for training. I’m working on content that shows people how to use their medical equipment and what products they can trust. I really appreciate the kind words brother! I like your channel as well! God bless!
@@preparedcitizens I’m going to be going live more on the channel and I’d love to book you for a slot to come on and share some tips.
@@kickzandcannonstv yeah man that would be cool with me. Shoot me a email Addison_jay@yahoo.com
