Thanks for the tips! Here is one for keeping warping to a minimum for water coloring, wet the back side of the watercolor paper also. It warps because one side is dry. I learned this from my son, he does watercolor paintings and literally puts his large pieces of paper into a bathtub full of water before taping them to his board. Hope this helps someone.

I’m a watercolour artist. Here’s a couple of other things that help with paper warping….tape your paper down on all 4 sides with painters tape. If you still have warping, you can iron the paper flat. Check out the Frugal Crafter’s channel for a short video on how to do it. She just posted it about a week ago.

You can also run the dry project through your die cut machine, with no dies, of course. That flattens it very nicely.

I have used Dollar Tree napkins for collage, their nail art embellishments for shaker cards, silicone hot pads for my glue gun, hair bobbin pins to embellish as journal clips, kids toys to use with a Gelli plate, use eye shadow as pastels. I use their faux Cricut mat for my stamping platform to hold my paper. Always ask for their empty small display boxes. They work great for stamp and die storage

Here's my tip. Save your craft garbage. The plastic packaging is a pallet, and the cardboard adds definition to die cuts. Cut the image once with paper and once in garbage cardboard. Adhere together, run a black sharpie over the edges. Bam!
Another is to buy used. Thrift stores and Creative Reuse Centers are an artists best friend.

I bought a small pack of DT pastel color pencils one time...just to try them out. They were pretty darn good! I wouldn't use them for serious art, but certainly for playing around, adult coloring or almost anything that you don't need or care about it being archival or displayed in sunlight, they're fine. Then when you decide you don't want or need them, you can give them to a child who might like them or put them in your "to donate" bag with no guilt. Like you, Mary, I will regularly purchase DT items for crafting, DIY & the like. There's not much to lose there. Thanks!

I use the really small containers (a few inches, open with "handle" holes). When I am die cutting small shapes for a project, I sort them into there. Years ago, I bought a gift bag with a Happy New Year raised on it with foam. I used that as a door sign for years for my New Year's brunches.

I don't remember where I got this but it works. If you have something that's got adhesive on it but you don't want it to stick to anything, (like these stencils) cover the sticky area with corn starch, and then brush the excess off with a soft brush. Corn starch makes a mess, so do this over the sink or put down some plastic or something.

What is a1@1h? I’m not into sports either but hey, this year, the Super Bowl mixed it up with Taylor Swift, recently became a Swifty, and of course their ads are always fun. My brother-in-law told me that advertisers paid $7 million per 30 seconds of ad time. There was an ad or two against antisemitism. And then the ultimate - - there was an ad promoting Jesus. And of course, the ultimate was the absence of sleepy joe. I thought the political ad by joe kennedy was interesting. I wonder if he/his family paid $7 million?

Hi Mary. Idk if you have seen it, but in the makeup section of $🌳 they do have blending brushes. They are the smaller ones and the bristles are brown kind of like the expensive OG brushes from picket fence...but they are a good enough option for someone to check out too see if they like them or not...(the actual brush size is about a quarter tall and nickel or dime wide) sometimes they even have the brushes that are round and the size is slightly bigger than a pencil eraser. Happy crafting 😊

hello Dear!!! so for the sticky stencil that ripped your cardstock - it needs to be unstickied a bit. Just like blue tape. I stuck it to a quilt I had. Because that stencil was cool . (yes, the same one you had)
love that holographic paper!!! also love their sort of "plastic" foam board. I use it to make some cool boxes for the camper, my craftroom, presents. . .
OH MAN!!! I just tried these exact same watercolors!!!!! I only use them for backgrounds so BAM! exactly what I needed.

I wish we had an equivalent to the Dollar Store where I live (Switzerland), or even a craft store that didn't require the price of a kidney to buy craft supplies... but online delivery is improving (a lot of companies, even on Amazon, still won't ship to Switzerland!).

Have you tried Temu? Free shipping and real cheap compared to craft stores. Supplies come from China ....but then so does Dollar store and most craft stores.

I love your cost saving videos! I have bought many supplies from Dollar Tree... sequins for shaker cards, bakers twine, poster board, 8.5x11" glitter card stock (love these - no shedding glitter and die cuts well). I definitely need to check out the dropper bottles and mirror card stock! Thank you for another great video! ❤❤👍👍😊😊

I will look at the skinny offset spatulas for metal pallet knives. My cheap plastic ones are definitely showing wear after the years I have used them.
If you use essential oils and use a bottle up, the dropper top can be pulled out, the cleaned out bottle filled with alcohal, and its an easy dropper bottle.
If you color your own paste, or make diy glitter or mica paste, empty 1/4 cup spice jars work well. Mine are glass, but I assume plastic would work well. Just use it up within a couple weeks, depending on your base product.

I didn't see you use the sticky cutting matt. I bought one the other day & it works well. It says medium stickiness, but since I don't own any other sticky matts, I can't compare them. I thought the paper held well with it, but I could still peal the paper off &, yes, I actually cut on the matt without any issues.

I didn't use it in this video but have in 2 past videos. I didn't want to be redundant. I use it for my MISTI stamping tool to hold down my cardstock; it fits perfectly.
