I have employed the shelf liners to lie between my mattress and the fake "box spring" on my select comfort bed which is now 15 years old or so. The cover that came with it had not aged well, so I removed that. The replacement did not stop the mattress from sliding a bit each time you get in and out of bed. I used about three packages of the liners, the bed is Queen size. Works wonderfully. I have had to adjust one of the liner panels only once in six months. My sister was having the same problem and only tried the liners I provided her to humor me. She could not believe the excellent results. This is the first time your channel has come up on my feed. I'm impressed.
Mary ~ when was the last time I told you how BRILLIANT you are! Thank you so very much. I use the Betty Crocker Spatula in my kitchen everyday!. I will definitely get another one for my crafting area. xo
I use craft clamps for holding two pieces of wood together after using some of the dollar tree wood glue to make sure the glue dries evenly. I use those puppies for anytime I need an extra hand when something is too long, for elxample. They are really handy. And I'm jealous! I have never seen a right angle ruler like that at dollar tree. I will be on the lookout! Thanks for sharing with us.
Oh Mary!! I love it when you do these videos! You can't imagine what a help it is. When you"re spending your money on good quality stamps and dies, that it's so nice to have the short cuts on tools and helps. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Thanks Mary, great ideas here. I wanted to share that the little clamps are sold for holding fabric while sewing in lieu of pins. I did steal a few of my for paper crafting and they are very handy. As for the rulers, many years ago I bought a pair of 6 inch thin stainless steel rulers from Amazon and added a strip of the magnet sheet that I use for my dies to the back of each one. I can configure in a square like the one you purchased or use at any angle I choose. When the Creative Corners came out, I had no need because my little rulers were far more useful.
That is so smart! I bought the creative corners when I bought my 12x12 MISTI. Thank goodness they were about 45% off, because I hate them. I am going to give them another chance today, or get rid of them.
I bought a couple of packages of those little clips from the army surplus store. Since they were not marked "craft," and were black instead of pink, they did not cost much. Good for heat embossing and camping. 😁
@@user-mv9tt4st9k I, TOO, will NOT buy P I N K!!! A N Y t h i n g!!! Do SO MANY Crafters have such a girly-girl "thing" going that manufacturers feel bottom line-bound to make our tools and whats-its in PINK?!? Another good reason to shop at Harbor Freight!
I use the craft clamps to secure the ends of my beading wire when making jewelry, and also clamps when gluing earring posts to back of earrings. Lots of uses!
Also, the rubber finger tip covers can be used when you are ink blending and have to hold down the paper. I see people put a post it note under their fingers. The craft clips can be used as chip clips in the kitchen. the Yupo paper substitute has me excited. I stopped using my alchohol inks much since I saw that yupo was $1 a sheet.
Brilliant! Thanks so much Mary! You showed lots of things that even I, a seasoned crafter of over 20 years, could use. There’s just some crafty items that I refuse to buy because I know they’re priced way up because they think we will fall for anything. I haven’t been to the dollar store in a long time due to covid but I’m gonna send my granddaughter to pick up some of these for me. I just love your attitude and personality Mary, and that you left in the fails too! Hugs ♥️
Sue, thank you so so much for this comment. I'm so happy that it was useful and helpful! YAY! I am also glad you liked me leaving in the fails; I feel it is necessary to help save money in the process as well.
It's works for us Crafters who are interested in MANY crafts and diy ideas..simply because we can already pretty well think "outside the box" and use things as tools etc not normally intended for that..but if it is what works! for example I buy several of those screen sink traps ( they catch food ,hair,etc...) And use in a plastic small coffee tub ( the larger4" one fits perfect in it and the lid goes back on too) for a cooking oil strange after frying potatoes or non meat stuff..and I can screen out the crumbs...And keep a few cheap tea lights handy also for sluggish zippers, waxing sewing threads ( run it through as you put finger pressure, and tracks of drawers or sticking closet tracks...I spray my cheap white canvas tennis shoes with spray starch or a candle to keep them stain free & clean longer..and you can make them like new with some white liquid shoe polish..
The makeup brushes work really well too. I have several from the dollar store. Shaders that look like paint brushes, the ones black handle ones. I use them all the time. Dollar store is very under rated in the craft world. Their version of score tape works great, the yellow masking tape is comparable to purple tape their washi tape comes in several sizes I only use it for masking or holding dies. Their sticky notes are great for masking. I also use their foam tape. There's a ton of stuff at the dollar store you can use just think outside the box.
@@ophelierolos8670 F.Y.I.: $Tree -- in TUCSON, AZ -- has 2 sizes of the "blending brushes" you see being used by crafters here on y.t. The larger one didn't seem AS large as what we've come to expect, but not bad.
Great video. Txs! You can also use the shelf liner as background stamp. It makes a nice clean impression and economical. Also their wooden cloths pins are great for holding edges together when glued layers of mats are not cooperating and you have gaps. You get a lot more than the metal clips and they also do not mark your paper. If you want to make them pretty line the clips with paper scraps.
Super great video!!! The pink craft clips can be used when quilting or holding something while the glue dries. They work great when sewing things you can't pin. These ideas were the best!!! TFS
Great video! I use a dollar tree balloon blower for alcohol ink. I use a small wooden handled silicone spatula to heat emboss delicate die cuts. I put repositional tape runner on it to hold the die cut to ink it up and heat it Anything still on the spatula rolls off and my hands are clean and burn free! Thanks!
Yup….. already warped my mat using my heat gun…. Got myself a new one AND will be using something like the clipboard shown in the video! Thanks for the tip, because I wanted to settle for cartboard, but a clipboard looks so much nicer!
Awesome tips, my friend! I learned a couple new ideas I haven’t seen yet. I think one of my faves is the shelf liner to stabilize the die cutting machine and ink pads.I’ll definitely give that a go! Hugs and Merry Christmas!!! ♥️🥰🎄
Thank you Mary. I too spend a lot of time and little money on crafting items at Dollar tree. You have some good, innovative suggestions. As for the little pink clips, the are handy for gluing up prototypes and models. Especially paper or foam. You can buy the exact same clips for about 7 dollars, with more masculine red dip instead of the pink.
Thank you so much! You are all sharing such awesome ideas with the clamps. I'm going to ask more questions in my videos because you all deliver! THank you again Peter!
Wonderful video! I also use the blue poster tack for replacing the sticky on the end of my quick stick, the cutting mats I cut down and use them as dividers in my die or stamp bins, I use powdered eye shadow as shimmer powder
Thank you, Maria for these ideas! I cut school folders for dividers, but couldn’t find any really think ones. I’m going to look for those cutting mats!
Mary, I use the pink clamps to hold my glued sheets of paper together tight until dry, when I make notepads. Also, I have bought the Sassy & Chic makeup brushes from $Tree that I use for ink blending on my cards and stenciling.
I use craft clamps to hold my paper strips onto my craft board when doing iris folding so that I can keep them in the right order while I work. I find them invaluable for this purpose
Wow! So many great alternative products to get from the dollar store! My mind is blown by the poster board and alcohol ink demo. Can’t thank you enough for these money saving tips. Now here’s hoping my DT carries some of these items.
The double sided sticky tape is amazing. When I can find it, I buy 10 rolls and store it. It is better than anything I have ever used. Your ideas are fabulous, thanks for the tips!!
Loved this video. I realize it's been a little over a year since you made it, but I managed to trot on over to my local Dollar Tree right after watching it and found almost everything you've shown in it. Thanks so much for sharing all of these ideas. Oh...and you're an enabler! Ha ha! But in such a good way. Not like I'm ordering lots of stuff online and spending a fortune. It's the Dollar Tree for crying out loud!! Lol. My husband was so impressed when I showed him my haul. My original excuse for going there was I needed sandwich bags! Sooooo.... I made out quite well, even if I do say so myself!!
Hahaha..I love this so much! I'm so glad it was helpful and you found great goodies. And that's right, it's only the Dollar Tree. lol I have to keep myself out of there except for like once a month because I go crazy. :)
Thanks for all the tips love the clips good for making boxes to hold together until the glue dry or use it if you are making purses as well Happy New Year
Use the clips for holding box corners until the glue dries... also brilliant. I used blue tape to hold together a DIY gift box. Next time I am getting out my clips instead.
Speaking of BOXES, does anyone know where I might lay hands on those WONDERFUL corrugated boxes with lids sold years ago by HANCOCK FABRICS for dress pattern storage? They came flat folded, but "opened" to 11 ⅞" X 7 ⅛" X 9" tall (w/Lid on); PERFECT to sit on those "cheapy" Sauder-type book cases. I've got one holding my stash of Embossing Folders; one holding extra tapes & glues; and currently one holding both my stamps (still in original packaging!) AND dies!! That one is just TOO crowded!!! I'd rather NOT have to re-do -- OR EVEN RE-THINK!! -- this set-up 'cuz right now they all look uniform & tidy (kinda important, in that I craft in my kitchen which is fully visible to other "public" spaces in my home. Thanks for any input offered.
Great video! Love a lot of these hacks - I’m def getting the tongs, flat spatula and shelf liner stuff. Brilliant! Thanks for sharing these inspiring product hacks!
Love it when you do these!! The poster tack is genius!! And WHAT?! They sell the adhesive remover at Dollar Tree?! I’m gonna have to look for it! I use it all of the time! Thank you, Mary!! ❤️
Thank you so much for the tips - especially showing what *doesn't* work! I have the pink pokey tools, the dimensional squares, and even got some embellishments and stencils there!
Some really great ideas here! I have been using the cutting mats for ages and love them for crafting on, so easy to clean up, even the glue and glitter pastes come off them easily. You have given me yet another reason to go back to Dollar Tree today LOL, thanks for sharing.
Great video Mary, a lot of dollar store stuff is great for crafts. I use the nail sponge sander from the beauty section, works great. I also use a dough scraper from the cooking section for large stencils.
"And that is the extent of the public math that I will do...no I will do more"---girl, you crack me up! Love the items, I have one more if you would like to try. In the $ Trees here, we have small green cutting mats. They are the perfect mats to use with my Die Cut machine!!!! Thank you, Ms. Mary for your inspiration.
Thank you Mary ! I Hope that you and your family is doing well and happy..Thank you for the wonderful information and ideas ,Thank you for the visit today ..Have a Beautiful Blessed and Peaceful Wednesday Afternoon...
Thanks for the tips Mary! I just use a toothbrush to get most of those little pieces out of my dies! I haven't purchased the spellbinders tool, so I might not know what I'm missing, but the 4 for $1 toothbrushes from Dollar Tree work really well in most situations!
I've used the dollar store shelf liner for years. I do polymer clay, and work on a large white ceramic tile, and I put a piece of shelf liner under to keep it from moving around as I work. You can also cut a square piece to keep in the kitchen as a grippy jar opener. Great stuff.
Love Dollar Tree, love wandering around to see what I can repurpose for making art. Love those rubber adhesive erasers as well- they come in handy for so many things. And I believe they do sell a mini dust pan & brush set- maybe in the hardware aisle? Great vid.
Thank You.. It is nice to see a Dollar Store Shop TH-cam, that actually shows what YOU use these items for (I personally avoid and hate the "Dollar Tree Haul" videos}. You gave me ideas as a crafter and seller of items in stores … on HOW you use items... I will run to Dollar Tree tomorrow for a few, to make my craft/sell a little simpler. THANK YOU.
Our dollar tree has never had the hot glue finger protectors, so I use the red spatula for hot glue. The shelf liner makes great stamping for backgrounds and mixed media texture. I get little bowls to hold die cuts. Thanks for sharing!
Can also find package of 4 tweezers in the tools section, by the locks and zip ties at my DT. They have different shaped tips, for holding and picking up items.
Thank you so much for the great tips on making crafting easier. I do have a few of the item you are showing and one that I love is the white one you got for your water colors. It cleans us perfect from my paint . I can't wait to watch more of your videos.
Yup, I've been using silicone spatulas from Dollar Tree for evah! The craft clamps are for sewing. A better broom comes from the beauty dpt. Also, nail file works well as a sander. In the UK, they have the Pound shop. Same idea.
@@marypolancodesigns you know what else? They have those pump bottles in the beauty section too- the ones where you can wet a cotton ball by pumping on the top? I have 1 for alcohol and 1 for water on my desk.
Love these ideas! I use those craft clamps to hang up backgrounds to dry. I bought an old lamp shade at goodwill and took off the material, then turned it upside down so the larger hoop is on top. Then when I do large amounts of backgrounds (like spray stains and such) I hang up the wet background by clamping it onto the lampshade with those clamps. I can do about 10-12 backgrounds at once and it keeps them out of my way. I just leave the clamps attached to the lampshade “drying rack” till I need it again, otherwise I just hang it on a peg in the closet. Love the spatula idea! I am so gonna use that. And the poster tack!! Love that stuff!! TFS all these great ideas! I saw Ryan use that liner too, once I saw him use it I started using it too. Game changer!🤗
WHAT a great idea! WOW thank you so much for sharing this. I love it. I am always struggling to find places to put my panels while they dry. YAY! You are the best!
The craft clamps are great for holding signatures together for journal making with you stab your binding holes... And holding things together while glue drys...
Omgosh this vid was amazing. I went to DT today n purchased several items that you shared in your vid. I have subscribed n am in the process of watching all your vids. I sure tyfs, again your vid is amazing with the Sharing of inexpensive items that work for crafting.
I'm a budget crafter so Dollar Tree is my go to. I haven't seen the chopping mat, or angle ruler so those are on my list! Clear nail polish idea is genius! Some things I've found: in make up section--blending brushes for ink and a small silicone spatula. So many great ideas! Thanks for sharing. 😊
Mary, once again... you’re brilliant!!! Thank you SOOOO much for your videos! I love watching them for your humor and fantastic money saving ideas. I’m so frustrated with a certain company in particular that charges almost the same amount for shipping as they do for the items themselves! I understand that they want to stay in business and I try to purchase from them from time to time, but when I see the exact same item on Amazon for a lot less, it’s a no brainer! Have I mentioned that the nameless company messed up my order and wouldn’t send me the correct item without charging me for another round of exorbitant shipping fees? I won’t say the name of the company, but it’s initials are SSS 😡. ANYWAY... I have used so many of your money saving ideas and absolutely love them! No complaints here! Loving the Rock Paper masking paper, the white A2 size envelopes you recommended, the great paper comparable to Neenah but far less expensive, etc. I can go on, but suffice to say that I’m a huge fan! Please keep your videos coming and I hope you have a very happy Christmas!
Hi Nelida, I have heard the shipping issues from a lot of crafters. I'm surprised they haven't fixed it yet for as big as they are. I don't shop from them so I'm not sure; Scrapbook.com has my heart! Thank you for such an encouraging comment; I really appreciate you! Happy Holidays!
@@marypolancodesigns Yes! I actually placed an order from Scrapbook.com a few days after my SSS order and the Scrapbook.com order arrived the same day as the other. No complaints from me. The scrapbook order arrived correct and well packaged. I will only order from scrapbook.com in the future barring better pricing from Amazon. SSS was completely indifferent to my complaint... I suppose they have all the business they need.
Now I want to go to the Dollar Tree!! Do you think they’re open at 2am. Yeah, probably not. Lol. Those Craft Clamps can be used when you’re making Journals (although they are kinda small). Or when you’ve glued something and the edges keep popping up. Clamp it until it dries. Hope I can find some. Lol
@@marypolancodesigns in the past I have found embellishments there. Those little pearls and gems for cards were $1but at Joann's the same ones were over $8! But the things you found are great!
Dollar tree employee told me to use the shelf liners to open the jars. She said “a lot of craft people” came in asking for it precisely for that reason. Maybe they got the info from this thread! Lol! Definitely works and has saved my arthritic hands! ❤️
Loved the video. I too am a dollar tree junkie and have been using the poster paper for months. The clippes I think are for holding fabric together for sewing in lieu of straight pins. I have some expensive ones that I use when I make masks.
Ok, I just found and watched this video. TY so much. I am always looking for cheaper alternatives in supplies. This made my week!!! Absolutely love this....
I have the divided lipstick organizer which (random) holds perfectly my lg sample size and small regular size JoMalone perfumes however ink refills and essential oils go in them perfectly too. 😉
Hi from Australia. Yes, we do have alternatives to Dollar Tree stores. Whenever I hear Dollar Tree on TH-cam I go to similar stores here in Oz. Thank you for sharing your ideas.
Those chopping mats are the shiz - I've used those for a long time not only in my craft room but in the kitchen too, they're my favorite. I found some on Amazon too that had little nonslip dots on the bottom that work AWESOME!
You could also use silicone caulk, or any kind of caulk to put dots on the back of DT'S cutting mats. Dollar Tree carries caulk too, and it comes in quite handy for lots of things. 😃
Thanks for another great demo video Mary. I also saw a set of mini blender brushes (like the Pink and Main and Altenew ones) on Amazon for about AUD$21, right after I ordered the same thing from P&M for US$36.00! Aaargghhh!!!!! Stay well. xo
I think I have almost everything you mention. It makes so much sense to use Dollar Tree or other cheap stores for crafting and art needs. The prices of storage, organization and crafting tools sold at stores for that purpose are outrageous…I call them “rip-off” prices. I’m thinking to myself when I see some of the prices for they’re asking storage for dies or markers or stamps, etc., “you’re asking HOW MUCH for that?”
What I mean is...if you have a pattern (for crafts, for sewing, for scrapbooking, etc.)you can transfer the pattern to the chopping board and cut them out...you now have a durable pattern to use over and over again...I especially use them for my doll sewing projects...for vintage patterns I don't want to cut out on that thin paper...
Clever, Girl! The $Tree cutting mats are thicker than the Sew-ology Quilter's Plastic Template "sheets" (Hobby Lobby; 11" X 8.66"; 6 sheets/$4.99 as of 1/1/20), but I was thinking, too, that either would make good stencils. I'm hoping that if, as advertised, my Brother Design 'N' Cut can cut chipboard, it'd be able to cut these plastic sheets.
To make templates - say you don't have a particular die for whatever reason. You can trace it onto one of these mats using someone else's die, printing it off the internet or just freehanding it. So you trace it onto the mat and then cut it out. So whenever you want that particular shape, you put it on a piece of paper and trace around it and then cut it out. I do not enjoy fussy cutting but using templates is not so bad to me. The company Kiwi Lane uses templates in this manner and they can be very expensive but you can make your own with these mats. Then you can either trace the template on to the side of the paper that you will not be using (so the pencil mark will not show) or after you have traced it and cut it out, you can just erase the pencil marks.
I like that you demonstrate these items rather than just showing them to us

Oh Mary!! I love it when you do these videos! You can't imagine what a help it is. When you"re spending your money on good quality stamps and dies, that it's so nice to have the short cuts on tools and helps. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
You are most welcome Lorraine! I am so happy these videos can be useful
I put a piece of those shelf liners underneath the cakes I make so they don't move inside the box during transport and it works great.😃
BOOM! awesome hack
TY so much for showing alternative cheaper items. Otherwise this can B an expensive hobby! I use my cards for encouragement for lonely ppl.
My pleasure thank you so much for letting know it's helpful!
Ahhhhhh (me screaming)...that's a BRILLIANT idea! WOW! Thank you so much for sharing this!
That is so smart! I bought the creative corners when I bought my 12x12 MISTI. Thank goodness they were about 45% off, because I hate them. I am going to give them another chance today, or get rid of them.
Thanks for the ruler tip. Those clamps look a lot larger & heavier than sewing “wonder clips” but I guess they might still do the trick.
Another good reason to shop at Harbor Freight!
craft clamps: I use them to hold layers of crochet together to seam. They hold better than pins when you have a thick fabric.
LOVING all these uses for them that you are all putting in the comments. Thank you so much Jenna!
I use the tiny little clamps for book binding to hold my pages and covers together while I punch and stitch.
@@lyllydd yes! When waiting for glue to dry in bookbinding & junk journaling👍🏻
I use the craft clamps to secure the ends of my beading wire when making jewelry, and also clamps when gluing earring posts to back of earrings. Lots of uses!
Awesome uses, thank you so much!
This video is the best I’ve seen ever! Great ideas and I love the demonstrations! Thank you so much!
Wow thank you for such encouraging feedback. I really appreciate that!

STOP IT....Thats a great tip about holding down the paper! YESSSS
I am a bookmaker..those clamps are real handy for holding things still when I stitch in my signatures...
Awesome thank you so much! Great tips!
We add the mica eye shadow and/or glitter to the clear nail polish for different looks. They also have a metalic silver that looks great on cards.
Great idea!! I LOVE that. I definitely need to try that Thank you
A really good list, thank you. And I love that you showed not only how to use each item, but how well each item worked
Glad it was helpful! Thanks so much
It's works for us Crafters who are interested in MANY crafts and diy ideas..simply because we can already pretty well think "outside the box" and use things as tools etc not normally intended for that..but if it is what works! for example I buy several of those screen sink traps ( they catch food ,hair,etc...) And use in a plastic small coffee tub ( the larger4" one fits perfect in it and the lid goes back on too) for a cooking oil strange after frying potatoes or non meat stuff..and I can screen out the crumbs...And keep a few cheap tea lights handy also for sluggish zippers, waxing sewing threads ( run it through as you put finger pressure, and tracks of drawers or sticking closet tracks...I spray my cheap white canvas tennis shoes with spray starch or a candle to keep them stain free & clean longer..and you can make them like new with some white liquid shoe polish..
,
Thank you for the tips - and demonstrations. It's so much easier to relate with needing an item when you see how it can be\is used. 😀
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for letting me know that. YAY
I shop dollar tree all the time & you've given me new ways to use those items I wouldn't normally think of! What a great video!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Awesome! Thank you! YAY! I'm so glad that it was helpful!
These were so good I had to watch it TWICE! The comments were super also. TY!!
Oh wow what a compliment! And yes...commenters who share are the other half to the video. Lol
I agree! These are all amazing shares, thank you so much!
Are you using the make up brushes as ink blending brushes? Does it work as well?
That's a great idea! Thank you so much for the share! YAY
Awesome ideas and tips - I got many ideas for affordable crafting and I LOVE how you showed the ones that were a bust too. Great content!
Thanks so much! I really appreciate the feedback; helps me a lot.
Super great video!!! The pink craft clips can be used when quilting or holding something while the glue dries. They work great when sewing things you can't pin. These ideas were the best!!! TFS
Brilliant idea; YES thank you so much!
Thanks!
AMAZING tips! YES thank you so much!
Yup….. already warped my mat using my heat gun….
Got myself a new one AND will be using something like the clipboard shown in the video!
Thanks for the tip, because I wanted to settle for cartboard, but a clipboard looks so much nicer!
I'm so glad that it worked for you! YAY
@@marypolancodesigns I just LOVE good craft tips!! Thank YOU! 😄
Awesome tips, my friend! I learned a couple new ideas I haven’t seen yet. I think one of my faves is the shelf liner to stabilize the die cutting machine and ink pads.I’ll definitely give that a go! Hugs and Merry Christmas!!! ♥️🥰🎄
Thank you Kathya! Gorgeous Profile Pic...but you are always gorgeous. The shelf liner...I was like, what???? Love that
Thank you Mary.
YES! Awesome ideas; thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you, Maria for these ideas! I cut school folders for dividers, but couldn’t find any really think ones. I’m going to look for those cutting mats!
Great video full of tips and humor. I love listening to you! I am at the Dollar Tree...ALL THE TIME, so I better make a list.
Awww that is so kind of you thank you for the sweet compliment.
Mary, I use the pink clamps to hold my glued sheets of paper together tight until dry, when I make notepads. Also, I have bought the Sassy & Chic makeup brushes from $Tree that I use for ink blending on my cards and stenciling.
Awesome share! Thank you so much! YAY money savings!
For some reason I have several adhesive erasers and they never wear out. I hadn’t thought to use them to clean up my scissors. Great idea!
YAY! So happy that was helpful.
I use craft clamps to hold my paper strips onto my craft board when doing iris folding so that I can keep them in the right order while I work. I find them invaluable for this purpose
Oh such a great tip, Barbara, thank you so much!
Wow! So many great alternative products to get from the dollar store! My mind is blown by the poster board and alcohol ink demo. Can’t thank you enough for these money saving tips. Now here’s hoping my DT carries some of these items.
Hi Dorothy, thanks so much! Yes go check it out; you will not regret it!
I have been using the plastic applicator brush from root touch up dye for hair to get the pieces out of die cuts. Works great! 😀
Oh great suggestion, thank you so much!
I absolutely love the micro fiber rags!
They are the best! I agree
Mary, thank you so much for sharing these finds. I am on a budget and truly appreciate this video. God bless you and your family.
You are so welcome! I'm so happy it could be helpful!
The double sided sticky tape is amazing. When I can find it, I buy 10 rolls and store it. It is better than anything I have ever used. Your ideas are fabulous, thanks for the tips!!
Great tip! I'll have to check it out too!
Great ideas! Also the reminder about the posterboard. Love your finds for crafting!

Thanks for all the tips love the clips good for making boxes to hold together until the glue dry or use it if you are making purses as well Happy New Year
Great tip! They really would be awesome to use for so many things and you have all given me awesome ideas!

Some really great ideas here! I have been using the cutting mats for ages and love them for crafting on, so easy to clean up, even the glue and glitter pastes come off them easily. You have given me yet another reason to go back to Dollar Tree today LOL, thanks for sharing.
Those cutting mats are the best! Another commenter said she uses them as dividers.....PERFECT! Happy shopping!
some quilters use the cutting mats to make templets. I wonder if they might work for stencils? Might have to check that out.
Great video Mary, a lot of dollar store stuff is great for crafts. I use the nail sponge sander from the beauty section, works great. I also use a dough scraper from the cooking section for large stencils.
Oh yes a nail file would have been perfect for my sanding idea; thank you!!! awesome ideas
The shelf liner idea under distress inks is great!!! It drives me crazy how much they move around when I’m trying to get ink on my blender.
I totally agree! I was like.....WHAT??? How have i been struggling for years without this?

Thanks for the tips Mary! I just use a toothbrush to get most of those little pieces out of my dies! I haven't purchased the spellbinders tool, so I might not know what I'm missing, but the 4 for $1 toothbrushes from Dollar Tree work really well in most situations!
Ooooh great idea with the toothbrushes. Thank you for sharing that! YAY!

I've used the dollar store shelf liner for years. I do polymer clay, and work on a large white ceramic tile, and I put a piece of shelf liner under to keep it from moving around as I work. You can also cut a square piece to keep in the kitchen as a grippy jar opener. Great stuff.
Great tips! Thank you so much!
Love Dollar Tree, love wandering around to see what I can repurpose for making art. Love those rubber adhesive erasers as well- they come in handy for so many things. And I believe they do sell a mini dust pan & brush set- maybe in the hardware aisle? Great vid.

Loved the video. I too am a dollar tree junkie and have been using the poster paper for months. The clippes I think are for holding fabric together for sewing in lieu of straight pins. I have some expensive ones that I use when I make masks.

Hi from Australia. Yes, we do have alternatives to Dollar Tree stores. Whenever I hear Dollar Tree on TH-cam I go to similar stores here in Oz. Thank you for sharing your ideas.
Thank you so much, Elaine! :)
Those chopping mats are the shiz - I've used those for a long time not only in my craft room but in the kitchen too, they're my favorite. I found some on Amazon too that had little nonslip dots on the bottom that work AWESOME!
YES....they are so awesome! I have to go back and buy a ton for other things.
You could also use silicone caulk, or any kind of caulk to put dots on the back of DT'S cutting mats. Dollar Tree carries caulk too, and it comes in quite handy for lots of things. 😃
Or you could use poster tack for nonslip.
You Are Awesome for making this video!..Great Ideas!!!..Thank You!
You are so welcome! Thank you for letting me know!
Thanks for another great demo video Mary. I also saw a set of mini blender brushes (like the Pink and Main and Altenew ones) on Amazon for about AUD$21, right after I ordered the same thing from P&M for US$36.00! Aaargghhh!!!!! Stay well. xo
Arggg..I hear you on that one. I do really like those brushes; I first tried them about a year and a half ago from Amazon.
I know, it can get silly out there!

Hey Mary Great idea for a video!! Thanks for taking more of your time to make us all make smarter decisions!!
You are so welcome! I'm so so happy they are helpful, Cheri!
The chopping boards are also great for pattern templates... That's what I use them for!..🤗
Ooooh tell me more; what do you mean patterned templates
@@marypolancodesigns I’ve used mine for templates in sewing projects and the odd template in the papercrafting world.
These ideas are so neat, I'll have to try some. You are special to share your hit and misses with us. Thank you for your time. Great crafty ideas.
Thank you so much Camille! I really appreciate that. I had fun doing this one!
