Hi, Mary! I think this is one of my most favorite of your videos. I don't have all the supplies you do, but I'll give it a start with the ink smooshing and ink blending for now. Thank you!
Good heavens girl! You're sooooo creative! I just LOVED EVERYTHING you did here! I feel like even I could make pretty things like this too, but I know already that MY mind's eye and the end results are going to, in NO way, compare! Lol Regardless, I'm off to my desk to try! Lol Looking forward to the background class! See yah there! ❤😊🎉
Watched your video again and again. There are so many ideas that I may keep making cards forever and still not finish all the ideas you’ve given me. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much what a beautiful display of all the different techniques that are out there my husband bought me a set of 10 on one side and a brush on the other side of the arteza and I found it very difficult to use and ended up sending them back iCare how everybody loves he arteza but the experience that I had with it was not good loved all the other different techniques I use a lot of alcohol inks Tim Holtz thank you so much for sharing all these great techniques have a great day God bless
Mary, this video is FANTASTIC. My mind is exploding with ideas now, but it’s 1:30 a.m., so hopefully I’ll be able to go to sleep. Please take care and stay safe. ~Barbara
Great video thankyou,Learnt so much!I use hairspray to set my mica, unless I use them as Paints 😍,or mix them in paints. But my top frugal tip White texture paste,Filler,u find in diy section in our favourite cheap store.Keep safe and well from the UK
Love this video Mary! I took a class on Brushos last year and you hit the nail on the head.... They are FUN! I am finally running out of the color wash pages I made for the class. You can use cover dies on a page you might not be too thrilled about and it looks terrific! Love, love, love brushos! I didn't know CP had color bursts too!
Now that I'm recovering from surgery, now I can finally catch up on your awesome videos. Your tips were fantastic. I purchased a GIGANTIC order from Arteza (mica powders, water color pencils, colored pencils, iridescent color changing acrylic paint, alcohol markers, fine liners, metallic paint, scratch paper, and so much more. I blame you, lol. Cant wait to actually start crafting again. Thank you for your fun and inspirational videos. They mean so much to me. Hugs 🤗
Mary, thank you for compiling these videos into one great big set of ideas. Definitely one I saved in my list of videos to watch over and over 💕. Thank you for all you do and making us novice crafters feel we can do it all! One of these days I hope to meet you and thank you in person.
I love the acrylic block smooshing. What were you spreading on the block? Loved the video, I have most of the things you demonstrated but haven’t used them in ages. Thanks.
Thank you so much! I'm not sure what you mean by what I'm spreading. Did you mean which ink, or how did i get the ink moving. I don't recall the ink, but i spritzed with water to get them to smoosh around.
Fabulous video! It was fun seeing a sampling of so many great ideas for backgrounds. I’m such a pattern paper person, I rarely venture to try new things. Now I want to do some ink smooshing! Thank you for all the inspiration! 💖
Hi Tracy, color bursts are so so fun. I would say any collection that includes the pirmary colors becuase with those you can make any color. So red, blue and yellow are a must. I hope that helps!
Mary, I am enjoying your videos. Could I ask what was the blue mat you were using in the video, and the school-themed stamp set with the crayon and glue bottle cuties? I looked at links but didn't see them. Thanks!
Hello! The blue mat was a magnetic mat from We R Memory Keepers: here is the link: shrsl.com/3n39e The Stamp set with the crayon and glue bottles is from Darcie Stamps but I don't have a link. Thanks so much for your sweet and encouraging comment!
Thanks for sharing. The oxide ink info was helpful. Sorry...I haven't checked....but have you done a video comparing all of the attributes of various inks (dry time, water reactivity, etc.)? Thanks.
No I haven't. Catherine Pooler is my favorite after all the ones I've tried so I didn't want to invest to do more comparison. Well I should say Catherine Pooler and Oxides! LOVE them both
Thanks for putting all of these together. Although I've been using most of these techniques for years, it's nice to see them all in one place. Nice job!
This is an awesome set of ideas. Apart from the great ideas for cards, I learned some extra helpful tips regarding the different types of inks and how to best use them. Thank you. 😊
Mary, That was an awesome video!!! I forget some of the ways to use different products!! I will keep this one close by!!! Hope you and family are well!! Hugs!!!
Love your videos.!!! May I ask the 4 colors of Oxide inks you used to make MILITARY colors please? I found the stamp you used and I am so very grateful that you are remembering our service men and women!!!! THANK YOU!!!
Hi Mary. I have to say, I took a break from crafting for the past several years. While I have most of the 'stuff', all these blenders are new to me. I see you using what look like sponge and brushes on permanent handles. I'm imagining you have to have one for each color. How many do you own? Do you clean them between uses? I love the way the brushes blend; that always seemed an issue when I used the TH circle sponge and rectangle, felt pads - but they were easy to replace. Maybe you already have a tutorial you can link me to? Thanks. ~ Mary
Hi there! So if you are referencing the brushes on handles (not the foam tools), then you technically only need one because you can clean the brushes between each color. That can get daunting so you can purchase as many as you want.
Thank you for a very informative video. Fairly new at card making and so busy making cards, organizing my space, etc have been itching to try background techniques. With this video that itch is finally going to be scratched!
Thank you for sharing this informative video. I'm trying to step outside of my comfort zone and try new techniques (and I too own all of the oxide inks - they're wonderful!).
I love alcohol inks too! It is very dangerous to use a straw to blow them around. The ranger tool is really good 🥰. Stay safe. Thanks for all the great tips
Fun video! I like that all of these are on one video. I saved it to go back sometime when I just want to do something different than I usually do. Great reminders! Thanks, Mary!
Love the silicone mat you have for the alcohol inks use... can you tell me where I can find that? I have the WF one, but that is white, I would love to have a black one for Alcohol ink blending.
This is the one I have but it's much more expensive now. amzn.to/34EU6NQ I would recommend checking a dollar store to get any silicone mat to get messy on.
Amazing compilation of techniques. This will stay on my desktop FOREVER as a reference of ideas. Thank you for all the work of putting this together! I’m so appreciative! 🌷
What a fantastic resource here Mary. Had to save this one! Especially like the use of previously seen projects. Trying to think of similar ideas so I can give you even more homework. HAHA. Thank you so very much!
WOW Mary!! Incredible compilation, I wonder how long it took you to put this video together! I definitely saved it to my playlist to refer back to! I love all the methods, so much inspiration!
Great video, Mary! Tfs. Do yo remember making a video, moths ago, maybe a year? Where your husband bought foam tape, on a roll and you told him to take his cape off? Where did that marvelous man get that foam tape, please?
Hahah, yes he picked that up from the Dollar Tree for me. The backing is not that easy to get off but it's SUPER sticky and I like that it's in little rectangles.
Love this video! You're videos have encouraged me to do galaxy backgrounds. I just made the cutest card for my grandson using the galaxy background. ❤️
cool stuff as always Mary, I wanted to tell you two things 1, I was told by a shop owner that Darice was closing down, so you may want to stock up on your beloved glitter paper while you can and 2. I found Neenah110 in the 260 packs for 9,98 today, so you may want some of that as well, luv you!hope you and yours are safe and healthy!
