I’m doing the same thing with my Raleigh Mantis.
Front rack, shallow basket, bb conversion, Billy Bonker tyres, magura HS33’s, plus a ton of extra stuff that’s worth way more than the bike.

Thank you for sharing I did the same thing took some inspiration from Gary's channel for that hack but did the same thing you did went through a shop bought a $5 basket hooked it to the front of a carved up back rack it's probably the coolest thing I've ever done

lol nice twist at the end. IDK how well it's built and if it would hold up long term but it looks like it would function fine with the addition of a bungee cord of course and look good if you removed the handles.
Haha thanks! Yeah it seems pretty sturdy but hard to tell. I’ve found a couple more cheap baskets I want to try out so may make a part 2!!
Could always grind down the handles will make a big difference
I ended up doing that and putting it on a different bike. But It was a little small so still not the best basket hack. I’ve got a new one I’ll do a video on soon.
To upgrade this set up go MIK system...it will still be cheaper than a $85 MIK basket...
That's a pretty nifty solution but it won't work on a modern mountain bike. Instead I'd just go to Tesco and ask nicely if they have any slightly damaged baskets you can have, attach to handlebars with zip ties and/or gaffa tape.... Sorted!😜

It was from eBay. Didn’t have a brand.

Did this the other day. got a frontrack for around 8£ and a basket for 1.50£ so below 10 £. always by secondhand stuff.

That front rack is good for £11. I’ve used plastic P clips and tiny bolts for a neater finish than zip ties.
