- AVP Requiem may be the biggest disaster ever of the Alien and Predator franchise but the Predalien itself is pure eye candy!
This bust from Sideshow has issues in my opinion (minor ones) but the fact that this piece was ever put into production more than make up for it's short coming.

The detail in the sculpting is just amazing if seen the sculpt photos overall Great purchase.
I originally hated the design for the Predalien, but over time its really grown on me to the point where I too bought this bust. Unfortunately I currently have no room to display it with so many other pieces taking up space, so I'm holding off until I can find somewhere which its size and presence can be appreciated. Great review as always man! Love looking back through your reviews.
Presence wise, this is up there with my Life-size Scarface Statue. Awesome piece!

Great review like always...you are exactly right about the dull paint application on this piece..i have the predalien also..just recently i applied clear gloss polyurethane on it..now it looks better and has a wet gloss look overall.

I fully agree with you when it comes to the simplicity of the paint job on certain areas of the bust, I think any 1:1 bust will have it's negative & positive points having said that it does look amazing from a distance and for sure it will be the center of attraction to anyone!
Still a definite buy IMO!

This is exactly why people love you reviews kevin you,ve got the piece in front of you what everybody craves to own,
your reviews are stright to the point "good" and "bad" its what people want to hear the indepth story about this piece and your thoughts;)....to be honest this piece blows me away everytime i see it the presence of the beast makes this a truly epic display piece,very stunning,a very stunning piece indeed!!!
i only wish sideshow would take much more care in the paint also ;((

the movie may have been dark all the way through and it was gory but is was still really cool

To give it that shiny wet look you could give it a light coat of liquitex it's a liquid varnish that I have used on my predator costumes, it will give you a real nice slimy wet look! It also enhances the colour and contrast
Nice review mate good comments these replica busts must cost a packet as well as need lots of display space.. I think I will stick to my 1/6 scale figures. Thanks for shatring.

maybe a 1000 grit sandpaper should do the trick. just to polish the figure to a shine.

@facelift1 I don't remember them making a snapping noise, I just pushed them in as far as I could.
I wouldn't worry too much about the rubber inserts, they are only there to take up slack.
Some holes may not require the rubber if they are already a snug fit.

i have no issue with the paint it is amazing looking in my opiniong, if this was the xenomorph i would agree that it needs to be more glossy but this is the predalien and it wasn't that shiny in the movie, i think it is very accurate

I think we are all guilty of missing opportunities sometimes, me included :)
Most of the time it's just down to money, I can only afford so much so inevitably I have to pass on some things. I try to be VERY selective these days, more so because of space.
Don't think I would ever let this one go, I'm guessing he still shows up on eBay from time to time :)

@acidglow I'm sure there is half a good movie in there somewhere but the film was so darkly lit that I couldn't see anything :-)

I could only curse this fucking bad lighting in the movie.
Believe me or not but I DIDNT EVEN NOTICE that the Predalien got this frightening looking skull-build inside of its Xenomorph-originated head.
Thats the best aspect of the Xenomorph Alien if you ask me. They assimilate the features to some part from the host they used to spawn.
The lighting was atrocious, it really bugged me too!
toally agree, they had sure a nice master piece but couldn't display it in the movie, what a waste!

Fantastic in depth review Kev, always wish sideshow would have added a decent amount of drool on this piece as in the movie this beast was just drooltastic lol. But nonetheless a badass piece indeed!

Hey Kev another great review thanks for sharing. I have never seen this up close or even at all but from what you say I guess it's good from a far but far from good. But man that thing is huge I don't even want to know what shipping cost you on that. Thanks again for sharing have a good one
