Better than Netflix! This kinda rich content (pun intended lol 🦆) is such a breath of fresh air for me. A thought hit me that instead of pulling your hair out... with a large collection and no fear of a long video maybe a top 10% favorites of the collection... And keep up the fearlessness of sharing what you like popular or not. Bravo ✌️
Yeah I just found his channel a few days ago, and I too love his content and videos. I have a lot in common with him except Im not a huge leather accord lover. But im a woman so I tend to stick with florals, animalics, gourmands and Ambers. I do also love freshies but the good ones like Roja, Creed and Xerjoff does. I too love Aventus but I only just started my fragrance journey into Niche a few yrs ago so I missed out on the great early Aventus batches and nobody will share or sell me a decant. Id love to buy a few 10ml decants of some of the best early batches of Aventus. I have a bottle of the anniversary edition of Aventus and its very nice but I suspect there are some amazing batches out there.
You're honestly one of my favorite reviewers. I love your taste in scents, and like how you are so knowledgeable. Respect Brother. Hope you're doing good IRL.
Antaeus. My high school graduation gift in 1982. I think I had that splash aftershave. Memories. Ah. I purchased my current bottle at the Rue Cambon flagship Chanel store in Paris in late November 2019 before the pandemic.
I'm amazed that Patou pour Homme didn't make your list! The ultimate in classic elegance. Oh, how I miss those pre-IFRA fragrances with that glorious oakmoss!
Excellent video; your knowledge and passion for the art of fragrance is immediately apparent. Such a breath of fresh air from all the sunglasses-inside-wearing, baseball-cap-wearing bearded guys shilling the latest clone house.
What a tough vid to watch! Bro. You keep things real and honest and tell me (at least) exactly what I need to know about each scent. Glad I found your channel. Keep. It. Up!
@@RamseytheRam btw. The tough part is watching the real emotion bro! I can see how hard it was for you to come up with a “top 10”! Done like no one else too. Knocked it outta the park. But are these really your go to reaches on the daily? I do Isseys L’Eau D’Issey Pour Homme, Quorum Silver, Givenchy Xeryus, Versace Eros Flame, Dior Fahrenheit and Drakkar Noir. Just dumb reaches and some really affordable. But go to has gotta be between issey/quorum silver. This doesn’t even come close to 10 though!
My mom who just passed this past June, her signature the entire time I was growing up was CHANEL No.5 eau de cologne (in the lipstick refillable atomizer BTW) but after she joined me on the fragrance collecting journey (ironically HER MOTHER, my Gunda, also collected scents and had a table full of perfumes powders and lotion potions; but I digress) enjoyed and totally rocked ARDEN Men Sandalwood, JACQUES BOGART Eau Fresh and GUY LaROCHE Drakkar Noir and later BVLGARI Man Extreme! One day we went parfum shopping and I wore Rouge de HERMES while she wore Rocabar!! ;-)
I wonder if the "Number One" description for that Hugo Boss fragrance refers to the pissy note...like when you ask a child if they have to go "number one or number two". Would be cool if they released a "Number Two" flanker that rounded out the washroom experience. I guessed Heritage and Kouros would be in the top 10 but was stunned Derby didn't make it. Thanks for sharing
Damn it Mike now everytime I see Boss Number one I am going to think of this comment 😂😂😂 BTW I was stunned Derby didnt make it either 😳 Thats whats so tough about an all time top ten is it forces you to make tough choices.... if I started really overthinking it Derby and Balenciaga pour homme could have made it in & opium and shalimar could have been kicked out ... but that wasnt my first impression so I left it alone 🤷♂️
Good fun. I want Kouros…I just want some. I love your channel! Go Cuir de Russia!!! And Opium! I remember buying it for mom when it first came out. She loved it. She past away in 2020 and I have her most recent and last purchase of it.
Wow touching story about ur mom hope she lived a full and glorious life! I bet you have some amazing scent memories tied to opium... i just love that stuff even though i started second guessing myself and wondering if I should swap Opium for Ballenciaga pour homme or Derby or polo green but i stuck to my initial thoughts otherwise if i started second guessing myself this video never would have been put out 😂 Cheers & thanks for sharing 🍻
Boss No. 1 was the favorite perfume of an Orthodox metropolitan, Bartholomew Ananias of Romania, which he used from time to time, and as you described the character of the perfume, I think it suited him perfectly. Really interesting! Always a pleasure to hear you talk about perfumes. Cheers!
Yes I guess thats how it has to be 😆 I feel bad fragrances like polo green or encre noire à L'Extreme didnt get a mention at all but thats whats so tough about a all time top ten is it really makes you make tough choices 🤐
Thank you sire ... now thats it is done I am analyzing it like ughhh how could I leave off Derby or polo green?! Etc... but i tried not to over think it or I would never have completed this video 😅
Yes tick tok videos promoting the entire line of a fragrance brand that I got for free in a 30 second "short" video all while running on my peleton & figuring out which man bag and hat matches my outfit for the day 🤣🤣🤣
You describing Diaghilev as smelling almost like a room with no air conditioning, after the act so to speak, reminded me of that scene with Will Ferrel describing something similar..
@@RamseytheRam “I turn the heat up to 82, close the windows so it gets real sweaty, and hot… And then I spray 4 sprays of Diaghilev by Roja Parfums across my body…”
Hahaha damn it Josh now I am never gonna get that quote out of my head everytime I think of Diaghilev .. i do love the stuff tho ! I guess looking at my all time fragrances i like sexual and animalic fragrances ... what does that say about me? Kouros Diaghilev Antaeus Shalimar & Boss number one & givenchy gentleman from 1974... a psychologist would have a field day 😂😂😂
You have so perfect scent on fragrances! I have some modern perfums, but my favourite are lapidus pou homme and kouros! They are gangsters like Tony Montana, and i have the reformulations! I wish i could smell the vintage version of these! I agree that lapidus is more wearable, and i love it a little more than kouros, because i love the pissy honey dry down of lapidus than the pissy civet of kouros is too brutal !!!
If you love those two here are a few more to put on your list to buy eventually... -Hugo Boss Number One -Salvador Dali Pour Homme -Roccobarocco Pour Homme EDT -Roccobarocco Joint Pour Homme -Maxim's Pour Homme -Chanel Antaeus / Antaeus Sport -Caron Yatagan -Marbert Man
@@RamseytheRam thanks for your suggestions! My next is gonna be the boss number one, i heard it from you first time,in your video, and i did a search! Really must be a very good fragrance and it is in a very good price, very close to lapidus!
Try and find a bottle where on the bottom of the bottle it says distributed by Giorgio Beverly Hills made in the UK instead of the more modern P&G version or the one now is dist. By Coty
@@RamseytheRam Hei I just found your channel today. And find review that gravitate towards darker, bitter, manly, that is precious. I collect some vintage brands; Lys Bleu Prince Henri d'Orleans, Jacomo, etc and also newer ones with traditional recipe classic theme.
I gave Opium to a friend in the late 70's when it first came out and they did not like it so i took it back and would wear it myself.........as a man it really did feel like a unisex perfume to me.......but it was a beast and half a spray would last all day.
I love it so much one of my all time favorite "womens" perfumes to wear as a much... check out my Jean Kerléo video that just dropped .. that highlights another one of my all time favorite "womens" perfumes to wear 👍
Your appreciation for old school frags, I must say that most of my favorites where in your honorable mentions list, fahrenheit, Balenciaga, paco rabanne; and some of the top ones like kouros, opium and yes I would wear it (I got the men's version too which I like a lot), M7, I also love Salvador Dali pour homme, polo green, antaeus, tsar, fendi uomo, azzaro pour homme, sauvage elixir, eau sauvage parfum 2012, interlude man, grey flannel, trussardi uomo, Shalimar, Gucci pour homme... And I can keep going.
Scored a vintage partial 60ml Lagerfeld Cologne.. once again way more, than I remember. Had it, Photo and KL Homme back then.. so I just knew I was going to love it. it has survived so well, very punchy still, couldn't be happier with Lagerfeld
You're preference in fragrances are almost perfectly alligned with mine. Heritage/ Danger is my No1 also. It's the 🐕's 🌰🌰's! I'd put the 2 Bertrand Duchaufor's (Chypre Palatin & Jubilation XXV) a liitle higher only for the reason I haven't sampled the vintage fragrances you mentioned. Gucci Envy would also be in there. Rich said he'll sell me his bottle. lol. You have excellent taste Ramsey.👌👍 .
Thanks brother.. i totally would find no fault putting palatin & jubilation XXV in the top ten ... making decisions like that is what makes an all time top 10 favorite fragrances to wear so tough... then i promised to rank them next year 😬
@@RamseytheRam of course. Also I ordered a bunch of samples as I have been watching many of your videos. Getting some chypres and leather fragrances soon. Your collection is impressive and the way you break each one down is awesome
Ramsey, all these fragrances from your list got a place in my heart. They were either worn by myself or someone that I knew. Loved the list 👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Don’t mind the others, and take as much time as you want on your videos.
Great list. Curiously, you spent more time on your honorable mentions... About that Kouros, I have a bottle just like yours. According to Raiders of the lost scent, the Parfums Corp. without the 80% written at the bottom might already be under Sanofi. I own both (with and without the 80%) and the animalis base differs slightly between them. Maybe that’s because of how they were stored through the years, maybe because of different formulations. Well, who knows? One more issue for the conspiracy theorists to solve.
@@RamseytheRam I wish I could send you a sample, the customs of my country does not allow me to do so. If you ever come to Spain I will send you the sample to the place where you are staying.
The ingredients of fragrances especially from the 70s and 80s classics were all more pungent and organic naturally. It was a much more healthier world then especially for nature and the plant kingdom ect.
@@RamseytheRam lol it’s a myrrh / floral / citrus unicorn that I’d hardly ever use, and Rive Gauche light (rarer yet !) . Those are the true YSL 🤘 I just forgot your video on Habanita, another one that I’m reaching for !
Phenomenal post! Wow, you NAILED this and I enjoyed every second of it... These are ALL timeless fragrances that have incredible scent memories in my life. To be frank, it would be very intriguing to see your 'Top 25 Favorites'. Heavy Respect!
@@RamseytheRam EPIC! You have stellar taste, my friend. I watched the entire vid and it's an incredible display of history, creativity, sophistication, and just beautiful fragrance. Again, HEAVY RESPECT.
Top Ten?! Geez this must have been tough, like a top ten ex girlfriends!😲 Each of these on your list bring back memories of what I used to wear way back and who I was dating or what the now xgf was wearing. But you have to draw the line somewhere as much as it might not seem fully justified, as for number 11!🤭
Very enjoyable. I have several of these, most of which I smelt (and rejected) back in the day. If you like vintage Opium (I like it to the extent of two bottles), I strongly recommend La Nuit EDP by Paco Rabanne, which is opulence and richness in liquid form. I have three bottles.
Great list and description - I would have to have at least 7 guerlains on my list leaving only 3 spaces for about 20 other fragrances I love. I would have to put roja amber aoud in one of the slots, a channel exclusifs probally coromandel, and tauer core du desert or tabacco vanille to round it off.
@@RamseytheRam vintage samsara, vol de nuit, Le heure bleu, chamad homme, dandy, cuir beluga, Shalimar, espice volees, mitsouko and ensens mythique. I would have vintage apres londree on there if I could find it. Really looking forward to the new musc in the art and materials line
@@RamseytheRam dandy was one of Jean Paul’s last scents for guerlain, it has the pale melancholy of l’heure bleu or apres londree but is more masculine. Hard to get now, I got a tester on eBay 4 years ago and havnt seen it anywhere since. You need a big collection these days otherwise u use stuff up quickly and can’t replace it with all the reforms and discontinuing.
Givenchy's Gentleman' 74 was my first love in fragrances. I sniffed it first time in the '90s and it absolutely blew my mind even though I had no base for comparisons. It remained one of my favorites but reformulations have ruined it a little bit. I'm not talking about performance, it just lost it's intensity which was mesmerizing back day.
@@RamseytheRam I know I've been bugging you but some vids really need an current version. Pretty sure your top 10 ALL time fragrances have changed since 2 years ago. Please, please.
I love Mitsouko.... there is just something in Diaghilev that I just love more... and tbh... even to this day and may 8 full wears... I still have no clue what that something is 🤷♂️
Great list with a lot of overlap with my current top 10 (which for me is a bit of a moving target other than the top 5). 1. Paco Rabbane Pour Home 2. Chanel Antaeus 3. YSL Kouros 4. Chanel No. 19 edt 5. Christian Dior Fahrenheit edt 6. Balenciaga Pour Homme 7. Givenchy Gentleman 8. Etienne Aigner Silver 9. Creed Bois du Portugal 10. Van Cleef & Aprels Pour Homme It goes without saying that I am referring to original formulations in this list.
Fantastic list my friend ... i cant argue with any of them other than to say paco rabanne pour homme has been my father signature scent for as long as I have been alive but you know how it is when a fragrance is a signature scent of someone close to you...the only other anomoly is I have never smelled Silver 👀 Whats it like?
@@RamseytheRam PRPH was also my father's signature scent. He started wearing it as soon as it was launched in 1973 so I basically grew up with it. It was also my first scent as I was given a bottle for Christmas when I was 13 and wore it regularly from the late 70s through the 90's when the reformulations really changed it. For the past 5 years or so, it has once again been my most worn scent as I have been fortunately enough to secure a nice stash of vintage formulations. With regards to Silver, I've become fascinated by this fragrance over the last year. I never had the pleasure of wearing this back in the 1980s. I don't know if it was marketed in the USA, but even if it was, I never came across it. I find it to be a wonderfully refined spicy, aromatic and animalic masculine fragrance. I'm very happy to have been able to secure a few splash bottles. The opening is bracing, green and refreshing, with Bergamot, Lemon, Basil, Juniper and some other green notes that I can't identify. The citrus/basil combination is just about perfect, smooth as silk. In the heart we have woods (Cedar, Patchouli & Pine), florals (Carnation & Jasmine) and some spices, most prominently Cinnamon. All these notes are blended to perfection. It is difficult to pick out the individual notes here because they are so well balanced. The base is the star of the show for me; mossy, musky and animalic with an exceptional blend of resins (Labdanum & Olibanum) and musky leather driven by wonderfully warm Castoreum & Oakmoss. For me, Silver is signature scent worthy. It performs well in all weather and while rich and dense is not cloying in hot weather. Longevity is very good. I get about 8 hours or so. Projection and sillage are excellent, although it is more understated than some of the bombastic 80's powerhouse fragrances from this period. I would say that it doesn't shout with overly brash projection, but leaves a wonderful scent trail. This is a 5/5 fragrance for me.
I have a question. Where can I find original formulations for fragrances? There’s a few I want to try but I don’t know where to look. I checked eBay but Idk how I could check if it’s a legit original.
Actually I did my very first comments on your channel yesterday. But I then realised I did it from my 11 year old son's channel. LOL. What a blessing technology can be. Without ever setting foot on the American land, I have fallen in love with many American things, ways of life, the grand canyon, the deserts, mountains and so on and on. This happened mainly through books, movies, series.. But only tech made it possible to actually communicate in this way. Thank you for your beautiful videos, reviews! Lots of love from India.
Just enjoy listening to you talk about perfume so much. It is all so interesting and I wish I could just pop by your place and try the old Kouros for example. And older formulas of Shalimar. Do you think Shalimar is worth buying now? I mean current formulations? And what about Opium?
Yes to current Shalimar but there are lots of older bottles still floating around for great prices ... i would hunt down a vintage opium bottle if you can 🤌🤌🤌
@@RamseytheRam oh ok i was just about to comment that I could only find the bertrand duchaufour video. Im looking forward to it! I personally find it a very kaleidoscopic scent, constantly pushing diff notes to the foreground, it leaves me cocooned in a plush bubble that i find incredibly difficult to describe. Kafkaesque did a wonderful review of it on their blog if you haven’t read it yet.
here I found myself in this other review, wherever there is "vintage" I look, I like to listen to other people's opinions, in this case I was intrigued by the "question" on Mitsouko women's shoes, definitely a reference, I have the p.d.t version years old 80, a few calibrated sprays and you enter another planet, the planet of powdery perfumes, and Jil Sander Woman III winks at him. Opium the absolute in all versions up to the 90s, I would alternate it with Magie Noir. - Let's not forget Bandit, which in my opinion is a masculine given to women... and on the opposite I would put Nombre Noir which seems much more feminine but the pink contained in it is perfect for men. Greetings from Italy
Hi Bud, The Kouros you have is from the Sanofi period, If you pick up a Charles de Ritz you won't stop using it and the one you have will become obsolete
Thanks for watching & commenting.. I have hopefully secured a charles of ritz and will be getting it in about a month! Its funny because some people like you say its far superior and I have had others comment that they dont see much of a difference 🤷♂️ Cant wait to do a comparison video 👍
@@RamseytheRam Hi Bud, there is a huge difference. All of the ingredients are natural. The Natural Civet fortifies the perfume and give it a velvety texture which makes it very soft and easier to wear. Check out some of my videos, I have them all
Hello Ramsey , I found a vintage Givenchy gentleman and a vintage Hugo boss number one, but I can buy only one right now and I need your help. How would you describe the man wearing each of those cologne?
That is to much for a comment...but buy one now (which ever is cheaper) and come back and buy the 2nd.... you cant go wrong with these two...both in my top ten of all time 🙏🐏
I am on eBay hunting for some not so overpriced vintages, thanks to you! I am not an expert buyer, so which sellers would you trust for 1) vintage and 2) vintage less-than-full bottles? Thanks!
i love opim for women too. it just smells so good. it's one of those womens fragrance that is more unisex. have u tried dior poison? i wear that too and it's one of those perfumes that people will notice lol
I happen to have a bottle of Chanel Russia Leather EdC. Doesn’t say Cuir de Russia. Very heavy birch and leather. Not sure of the reasoning why they didn’t use the French translation like most other bottles but a strong fragrance nonetheless. Curious to see what your top 10 would be of fragrances you don’t have. Great vid.
Looking forward to that list….I’ve never tried the bottles that say Cuir de Russie so I can’t compare. I’m wondering if the one I have was marketed for a certain region. It is a 60 ml bottle that has written Chanel Russia Leather on the top and eau de cologne on the bottom. Based on the look of the box and bottle, it looks like it’s from the 60s or maybe 70s. Could be earlier as well. The initial blast is heavy birch but it quickly softens to an aged leather accord with subtle flowery powderiness in the back.
How ironic top ten lol but it’s one of ur best vids yet must have been really tough there’s to many masterpieces I own half of this list I’m going for the half very soon I was lookin for ur azuree but when u have so many greats can’t fit them all hahaha thanks for the great content real perfume lovers stuff here keep um coming 👃 🍭
Thanks for the kind words .. i felt terrible about leaving azuree & teatra alla scala & aramis armis from 1964 & polo green from 1978 off all together... i could have done honerable mentions for hours tbh 😟
Just picked up an old, unsprayed Boss Number 1 with a box made in UK from I think 05 for $30. How's the top notes on yours held up and when is it from?
I did a livestream on Xerjoff perfumes but I am not a fan of Naxos ... to sweet for me.... i would much rather wear 80s frags like Boss Number one or Lapidus Pour Homme or Even Serge Lutens Miel de Bois... thats more my taste rather than Naxos
Yes pissy honey is so good ... mike v had the comment of the day he said did they name boss number 1 because when you take a leak in the restroom its a number 1? And if so they need to do a number 2 fragrance next 😂😂😂
Another great video! I meant to ask you this the other day..what's your thoughts on Maxim's Pour Homme? I love it..and figured it would be right up your alley. Cheers bro.
I have two bottles of the stuff ... i love it too.. its funny people will pay 1000s for ropions work with malle but they wont spend 50 bucks on a 50 ml to check out his work in the 80s ? 🤷♂️
They are missing out IMHO .. also wasser did a fragrance in the 80s called Dali Pour Homme .. if you can find a vintage bottle and they are around... i just scooped up a 100 ml of the vintage completely full backup bottle for 25 bucks on mercari last month... it is amazing juice 👍 Those two ropion and wasser put out amazing stuff in the late 80s that no one talks about .. guess I will have to carry that flag 😊
@@RamseytheRam I keep forgetting to look on Mercari, thanx for the reminder. Dali PH has been on my want list for a while..might grab it this week. Any hints on the next video? Lol.
If you woudn't exist, somebody would have to invent you. My 10 favourite fragrances of all times.... Tough question indeed. Anyway: Kouros, Opium EDT (both women's and men's fragrance), Freyja, Elephant, Lapidus Pour Homme, YSL Pour Homme, Hard Leather, Chypre-Mousse, King Kong, Eucris EDP. That was hard!
@@RamseytheRam You deserve only good words. Chypre mousse will surprise you: I smell like an earthy and balsamic honey, with green undertones. Fantastic projection and duration. Eucris: chose the EDP, as the EDT doesn't last very much. This fragrance is the quintessential barbershop, IMHO.
I have a chance to buy a 100ml bottle of Diaghilev for $650. Legit from my favorite store that I’ve purchased from for years. I just have some discount coupons that I’ve been saving. Plus their holiday sale brought it down to $650. What do u think? Is that a great price. Should I jump on the deal? I do have a 30ml decant of Diaghilev that I’ve been using sparingly but I’d love to have my own 100ml bottle, you know what I mean? So what do u think? PS if you’re still looking for a bottle of Ciel de Gum, I’ll ask around the fragrance groups for u and let u know if i find anyone who’s willing to sell a bottle. This is how I found a bottle of Absolu Pour Le Soir. What a beautiful animalic yumminess of a fragrance . Ive grown to love animalics. And Oud if its not fecal and done right, like the way Bortnikoff and Areej do it.
Yes if you find a bottle of Ciel de gum at a good price I would be interested.. I refused to pay the scalper 400 to 600 dollar scalper prices I see bottles going for from time to time... As far Diaghilev goes I would say 650 is a good deal for 100ml... but its up to you🤷♂️
@@RamseytheRam I have purchased way too much perfume this month so I really cant afford another $650 but i cant pass up this deal, so I will have to use PayPal’s pay in 4. They divide the payment in 4 and charge you every 2 weeks, no interest. This way its not so bad . Diaghilev is worth it. And who knows if I’ll ever see it at this price again. I’ll let u know if I find a bottle of Ciel. But being that its discontinued and the original price was almost $300, they will want to make a profit. Nobody is gonna sell their Ciel for less than they paid for it. I paid $350 for mine but it was only 80% full. I was happy to get it. I haven’t seen it for sale again anywhere. Actually there was this guy who sold his bottle on one of the Facebook groups, by the time I messaged him that i wanted it, he sold it already. Literally a few minutes before I got to him. Sheesh I was pissed off. He only wanted $300. So as u can see, u have to be very fast. What is it about Ciel, the more I smell it the more I want to smell more . Its intoxicating and so beautiful. My favorite from MFK as well as APLS and Oud Satin Mood extrait. I know there’s probably no Oud in there but it still smells great to me and it was my very first purchase from MFK. I had a back up bottle but this woman I know begged me to sell it to her. I kept refusing but when she said “I’ll pay u anything “. I couldn’t refuse. She did say “Anything “ and that’s after I reminded her that she can buy a bottle herself from the website. But nope, she wanted my macerated bottle.
@@giorgishakarashvili9598 yeah that is pretty common... sometimes you can find partials or better prices on the vintage if you know where to look...check out enchanteperfumes or leparfumier and ask them which versions they have for sale! Happy hunting mate😎
I think opium pour homme is good but you put it perfect it is not even in the same league as the original opium for women... there is a reason I have three bottles of opium for women and just one opium pour homme 😊
@@RamseytheRam Thank’s! I’ll skip PH and getting a back up of femme version instead. Can’t have enough of that Opium… By the way. I am a huge fan of Boss No 1 and in 1987, i think, there was a sport flanker of that fragrance. That one is really good! Its not very ”sporty”, i promise! Great fougere.

Antaeus I would say just try and find one with the silver atomizer.. if you really want to go for the best version get the one where the eau de toilette is written above chanel not below and the top of the cap is silver not black ... those are ultra rare and pretty expensive now a days but the can be found 😊
@@RamseytheRam thanks,I'll have to look for them. Have you tried Oscar for men by Oscar de la Renta? I just found out it was discontinued and I had the chance to get a bunch of them cheap. When I hit 1000 subs I am going to do a top 100 ranked video and you will see just how close Patou pour homme came to the top ten (hint its CLOSE) 😊
Excellent video; your knowledge and passion for the art of fragrance is immediately apparent. Such a breath of fresh air from all the sunglasses-inside-wearing, baseball-cap-wearing bearded guys shilling the latest clone house.
😂😂😂
Thanks so much!
Glad fo be found & welcome to the channel 🍻
What a tough vid to watch! Bro. You keep things real and honest and tell me (at least) exactly what I need to know about each scent. Glad I found your channel. Keep. It. Up!
Thank you so much for watching & commenting 😊
I did a top 100 countdown to celebrate 1000 subs..go check it out 😊
LAGERFELD CLASSIC MENTIONED 🥳🥳🥳 thank you for the confirmation bias
You’re a real ass dude I can tell you’re in it for the love of the game
Thank you I need to review Lagerfeld Classic on the channel soon now that you mention it 💪🐏
My mom who just passed this past June, her signature the entire time I was growing up was CHANEL No.5 eau de cologne (in the lipstick refillable atomizer BTW) but after she joined me on the fragrance collecting journey (ironically HER MOTHER, my Gunda, also collected scents and had a table full of perfumes powders and lotion potions; but I digress) enjoyed and totally rocked ARDEN Men Sandalwood, JACQUES BOGART Eau Fresh and GUY LaROCHE Drakkar Noir and later BVLGARI Man Extreme! One day we went parfum shopping and I wore Rouge de HERMES while she wore Rocabar!! ;-)
Thanks for sharing such a personal story John
Love it mate. Thank goodness I have 50 ml of Heritage left. Cheers
I am with you there .... I think I have 250ml of the stuff left .... it made my top ten in my top 100 countdown 🤌🤌🤌
Damn it Mike now everytime I see Boss Number one I am going to think of this comment 😂😂😂
BTW I was stunned Derby didnt make it either 😳
Thats whats so tough about an all time top ten is it forces you to make tough choices.... if I started really overthinking it Derby and Balenciaga pour homme could have made it in & opium and shalimar could have been kicked out ... but that wasnt my first impression so I left it alone 🤷♂️
@@RamseytheRam Totally agree. My top 10 would probably change weekly...so hard to narrow a large collection down to 10 faves
Watched this again. Thoroughly enjoyed once again. Absolute class video.
Thank you so much... really appreciate the kind words 🙂
I bet you have some amazing scent memories tied to opium... i just love that stuff even though i started second guessing myself and wondering if I should swap Opium for Ballenciaga pour homme or Derby or polo green but i stuck to my initial thoughts otherwise if i started second guessing myself this video never would have been put out 😂
Cheers & thanks for sharing 🍻
You were warming up to this list the whole time

Plus its my most watched video 🤦🤦
Outrageous! 🦆 Watching this list was so enjoyable.thanks for sharing mate!

Thanks for the support
Boss No. 1 was the favorite perfume of an Orthodox metropolitan, Bartholomew Ananias of Romania, which he used from time to time, and as you described the character of the perfume, I think it suited him perfectly. Really interesting! Always a pleasure to hear you talk about perfumes. Cheers!

Guerlain Heritage--yes!!!
One of my favorite masculines of all time 😊
Thanks so much for watching & commenting 🍻
Great vid! Love seeing 2/5ths of your list occupied by Chanel and Guerlain (as it should lol).
Yes I guess thats how it has to be 😆 I feel bad fragrances like polo green or encre noire à L'Extreme didnt get a mention at all but thats whats so tough about a all time top ten is it really makes you make tough choices 🤐
@@RamseytheRam It is difficult, but you made great choices. You sir have great taste 👏
Thank you sire ... now thats it is done I am analyzing it like ughhh how could I leave off Derby or polo green?! Etc... but i tried not to over think it or I would never have completed this video 😅
I did not see this coming! 😂 You have turned to the darkside! 😭 Next you'll be posting workout videos while spraying a litre of Sauvage EDP. 😉😂
😂😂😂 🍻 🍻 😂😂😂
@@RamseytheRam “I turn the heat up to 82, close the windows so it gets real sweaty, and hot… And then I spray 4 sprays of Diaghilev by Roja Parfums across my body…”
Hahaha damn it Josh now I am never gonna get that quote out of my head everytime I think of Diaghilev .. i do love the stuff tho ! I guess looking at my all time fragrances i like sexual and animalic fragrances ... what does that say about me? Kouros Diaghilev Antaeus Shalimar & Boss number one & givenchy gentleman from 1974... a psychologist would have a field day 😂😂😂
I enjoyed your video very much keep up the good work.

Wow 😎 Welcome to the Top10 club
Its all down hill from here 😂
Although to be fair u probably wont see many top ten videos from me so enjoy it while it lasts 🍻
-Hugo Boss Number One
-Salvador Dali Pour Homme
-Roccobarocco Pour Homme EDT
-Roccobarocco Joint Pour Homme
-Maxim's Pour Homme
-Chanel Antaeus / Antaeus Sport
-Caron Yatagan
-Marbert Man
@@RamseytheRam thanks for your suggestions!

Nice! Welcome my friend... i have a lot of content on vintage masculine fragrances.. and of course more to come 😊
I gave Opium to a friend in the late 70's when it first came out and they did not like it so i took it back and would wear it myself.........as a man it really did feel like a unisex perfume to me.......but it was a beast and half a spray would last all day.
I love it so much one of my all time favorite "womens" perfumes to wear as a much... check out my Jean Kerléo video that just dropped .. that highlights another one of my all time favorite "womens" perfumes to wear 👍
Your appreciation for old school frags, I must say that most of my favorites where in your honorable mentions list, fahrenheit, Balenciaga, paco rabanne; and some of the top ones like kouros, opium and yes I would wear it (I got the men's version too which I like a lot), M7,
I also love Salvador Dali pour homme, polo green, antaeus, tsar, fendi uomo, azzaro pour homme, sauvage elixir, eau sauvage parfum 2012, interlude man, grey flannel, trussardi uomo, Shalimar, Gucci pour homme... And I can keep going.
The good old days 🥲

Scored a vintage partial 60ml Lagerfeld Cologne.. once again way more, than I remember. Had it, Photo and KL Homme back then.. so I just knew I was going to love it. it has survived so well, very punchy still, couldn't be happier with Lagerfeld
You are grabbing the all time classics brother... Lagerfeld Cologne and then Balenciaga PH... well done my friend 🍻
Rich said he'll sell me his bottle. lol.
You have excellent taste Ramsey.👌👍
.
Thanks brother.. i totally would find no fault putting palatin & jubilation XXV in the top ten ... making decisions like that is what makes an all time top 10 favorite fragrances to wear so tough... then i promised to rank them next year 😬
I learn so much from watching your videos. Great channel, I purchased that Balenciaga fragrance. Found a 4ml on ebay for $15
Thats a great buy... enjoy that little 4ml those are gems 💎
@@RamseytheRam of course. Also I ordered a bunch of samples as I have been watching many of your videos. Getting some chypres and leather fragrances soon. Your collection is impressive and the way you break each one down is awesome
From all the parfums you mentioned in this video I only have promise! I'm curious to try the others 😅
Definitely a great list to get to sniffing on 🐽🐏
Ramsey, all these fragrances from your list got a place in my heart. They were either worn by myself or someone that I knew. Loved the list 👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Don’t mind the others, and take as much time as you want on your videos.
Thanks for the support brother ... you guys have been the best subs to start a channel a guy can ask for... cheers mate 🍻🍻🍻
Whooo I didnt know that🧐🤔
Playlist time.
Great list.
Thanks Eddie... glad the playlists are popular 🍻
This is indeed a very special video 😁👌
First top 10 almost 500 subs in... I held out as long as I could lol... you wont see anymore top tens from me for a long while 😂

I also love Diaghliev, it's a big chypre as Roja Dove says. I also have the edp version, which is skanky compared to the extrait version.
Lucky i would love to try the EDP version one day 😊

the description of the vintage Kouros is ridiculously good, thanks for the video man. Have a splash Parfums Corp myself. Too good.
I love both the Charles of the ritz and parfums corp too.. amazing fragrance from the good old days 🤌🤌🤌
@@RamseytheRam I only bought the 2.5 mil one as well but I really like the little bottle and a couple of sprits work very well! And I am a Leo!
I was one of the outrageous persons who made Diaghilev my most coveted fragrances until I finally was able to acquire it.
The ingredients of fragrances especially from the 70s and 80s classics were all more pungent and organic naturally. It was a much more healthier world then especially for nature and the plant kingdom ect.
Thanks for watching & commenting 🍻
I own a limited summer edition of Opium. And oh boy , just love it! Now I want the vintage Opium ❤️. You’ve just convinced me to hahah

Top Ten?! Geez this must have been tough, like a top ten ex girlfriends!😲 Each of these on your list bring back memories of what I used to wear way back and who I was dating or what the now xgf was wearing. But you have to draw the line somewhere as much as it might not seem fully justified, as for number 11!🤭
😂 i know i just cant help myself lol
I used to wear the hell out of Kouros back in the day! Boss scent! 🥰🥰🥰👍👍👍
Absolutely... Top ten fragrance for me of all time 🙏🙏🙏
Very enjoyable. I have several of these, most of which I smelt (and rejected) back in the day. If you like vintage Opium (I like it to the extent of two bottles), I strongly recommend La Nuit EDP by Paco Rabanne, which is opulence and richness in liquid form. I have three bottles.
Yes I have the EDT & EDP of La Nuit ... its beautiful 😍
Man a top ten list is so hard..what 7 guerlains would be in ur list?
@@RamseytheRam vintage samsara, vol de nuit, Le heure bleu, chamad homme, dandy, cuir beluga, Shalimar, espice volees, mitsouko and ensens mythique. I would have vintage apres londree on there if I could find it. Really looking forward to the new musc in the art and materials line
All the classics
Never tried dandy, chamade homme or cuir beluga 😱
@@RamseytheRam dandy was one of Jean Paul’s last scents for guerlain, it has the pale melancholy of l’heure bleu or apres londree but is more masculine. Hard to get now, I got a tester on eBay 4 years ago and havnt seen it anywhere since. You need a big collection these days otherwise u use stuff up quickly and can’t replace it with all the reforms and discontinuing.
Now this is a top 10 I will gladly watch.
Cheers Justin hope u enjoy 🍻🍻
Great list in my opinion! How I wish I can try the vintage versions.
Thanks for watching & commenting fragrance instinct 🙏😊
I hope you get to sniff the vintage versions one day 🍻
Givenchy's Gentleman' 74 was my first love in fragrances. I sniffed it first time in the '90s and it absolutely blew my mind even though I had no base for comparisons. It remained one of my favorites but reformulations have ruined it a little bit. I'm not talking about performance, it just lost it's intensity which was mesmerizing back day.
Yes the vintage bottles with the silver wrapping around them are basically a top ten fragrance for me 💪🐏
@@RamseytheRam I know I've been bugging you but some vids really need an current version. Pretty sure your top 10 ALL time fragrances have changed since 2 years ago. Please, please.
I agree with you, I prefer Diaghilev over Mitsouko, there is a bitterness in the opening of Mitsouko that I don’t like.

1. Paco Rabbane Pour Home
2. Chanel Antaeus
3. YSL Kouros
4. Chanel No. 19 edt
5. Christian Dior Fahrenheit edt
6. Balenciaga Pour Homme
7. Givenchy Gentleman
8. Etienne Aigner Silver
9. Creed Bois du Portugal
10. Van Cleef & Aprels Pour Homme
It goes without saying that I am referring to original formulations in this list.
Fantastic list my friend ... i cant argue with any of them other than to say paco rabanne pour homme has been my father signature scent for as long as I have been alive but you know how it is when a fragrance is a signature scent of someone close to you...the only other anomoly is I have never smelled Silver 👀
Whats it like?
Well what a description! I have it on the to sniff list.... but i guess I need to move it up the list :)
I have a question. Where can I find original formulations for fragrances? There’s a few I want to try but I don’t know where to look. I checked eBay but Idk how I could check if it’s a legit original.
Have you tried Bogue MEM? Seems like it would be right up your alley with your love of animalic notes and pissiness 😆👍
I actually HATE that perfume... although I own a bottle.... well i just struggle with it... its very challenging to me for some reason
Killing pigeons walking on the street - lovely expression! ❤
Would you recommend Hugo Boss Number One in the current formulation?
I heard good and bad things... I would probably find a vintage if you want my opinion
Thank you!

Great vid.
Ohhhhh thats a fantastic video idea .. like my top fragrances on my wish list right now??
Exactly.
Ok its going on the list ... btw i have never seen a chanel russia leather EDC 😳

Sounds amazing .. email me a pic of the bottle if you have time i would love to see it :)

Those two ropion and wasser put out amazing stuff in the late 80s that no one talks about .. guess I will have to carry that flag 😊
@@RamseytheRam I keep forgetting to look on Mercari, thanx for the reminder. Dali PH has been on my want list for a while..might grab it this week. Any hints on the next video? Lol.
I have been going back and forth between this year in perfume and a perfumers portfolio video .. any perfumers you love you want to see highlighted??
If it ain't broke don't fix it
Why they change formulation!
Greed 🤷🏻♂️
IFRA 🤷🏻♂️
So many reasons 😪
If you woudn't exist, somebody would have to invent you.
My 10 favourite fragrances of all times.... Tough question indeed.
Anyway: Kouros, Opium EDT (both women's and men's fragrance), Freyja, Elephant, Lapidus Pour Homme, YSL Pour Homme, Hard Leather, Chypre-Mousse, King Kong, Eucris EDP.
That was hard!
Thanks for the kind words as always Marco....i need to check out chypre-mousse & eucris 😅
They are both on my wish list... i have a few more hauls coming this month so maybe next month i can score one of these two gems 😁
is the lapidus pour homme edt still good too? the non splash version
Yes it is
😱
That what I said 😱😱😱😂😂
🐏🦆 top 10
Do you have heritage’s new formulation? Is it still worth it?
I dont have the new one although I hear it is quite nice still 🤷♂️
@@RamseytheRam yeah because the vintage costs 3 times more :(
@@giorgishakarashvili9598 yeah that is pretty common... sometimes you can find partials or better prices on the vintage if you know where to look...check out enchanteperfumes or leparfumier and ask them which versions they have for sale! Happy hunting mate😎
@@RamseytheRam Thanks Ramsey
What about Opium Pour homme Edt/Edp? Not in the same league as Opium for women?
Great list!
I think opium pour homme is good but you put it perfect it is not even in the same league as the original opium for women... there is a reason I have three bottles of opium for women and just one opium pour homme 😊
@@RamseytheRam Thank’s! I’ll skip PH and getting a back up of femme version instead. Can’t have enough of that Opium…
By the way. I am a huge fan of Boss No 1 and in 1987, i think, there was a sport flanker of that fragrance. That one is really good! Its not very ”sporty”, i promise! Great fougere.
Yes i own a bottle it is my favorite "sport" fragrance of all time IMHO! We agree there my friend! When the weather warms up I will do "sport" fragrance video 😊
@@RamseytheRam So! I had to do it. I bought a Edt Charles of the Ritz Opium YSL. And...i bought a Secrets de parfum Opium. I can´t get enough of this stuff. And maybe its your fault! (Saying that with love...)
Are the current versions of boss number one and antaeus worth buying?
Ooaaaffff I would say no... try and get the older bottles if you can .. antaeus is tougher but just last month I found Jonathan 1970 a 60% full bottle before the number one was written on the front for like 25 bucks on mercari... they are out there you just gotta look...
If you haven't tried it go look at lex ellis's review. It's one of the most anti-sweet fragrances ever but really gentlemanly. Lex likes it better than poor Loui
I have not 😳
I will put it on the to sniff list... thanks
@@RamseytheRam watch lex ellis's and fragrancmatts videos on it . It's a masterpiece
What do you think about b men by mugler
I have a sample somewhere I will review it one day on the channel
Heritage EDT the best ever. IMHO
My favorite masculin Guerlain 🙏🙏🙏
I appreciate your videos, but I feel they exclude many of us because most of the stuff you like have been discontinued. I wish you would make a video of stuff we can still buy. I once tracked down a vintage bottle of some perfume and ended up getting a rancid one. The game of tracking down discontinued perfumes is not worth the effort for many of us.
To each there own.... but I have made many a videos on modern fragrances that are Still available to buy... I even did a cheapie & vintage fragrances still worth buying in their modern format
@@RamseytheRam This was not meant as a criticism. I hope you didn't interprete it that way. It's just that its frustating when most of the stuff you like are very hard to get.
any changes since then?
That's a great question...maybe one day I will do an updated video 🙏🙏🙏
Also that's why Rojas fragrances are so expensive as he scours the world for the finest engredients and that is why his perfumes are costly.
👍🏻
holy Shite, its a 100ml BPH
😁😁😁
@@RamseytheRam so when I questioned you about Fendi Uomo, I hadn't yet gotten my gift set.. something about the Fendi reminds me of Bijan, the animalic note perhaps?? did you find that a well? my palette isn't as diverse/educated as your..
I did not personally... but everyone gets different things from a perfume... i find Fendi Uomo much closer to another Italian perfume Trussardi Uomo from 1983 🤌🤌🤌
