    Dear AC,
    Thank you for your videos, which are always a delight to watch. Your passion and knowledge radiate and inspire.
    You mentioned that classical perfumes should be preserved for their legacy and, of course, still be enjoyed. Your well-articulated points made me think and reflect on other realms of art, such as painting, where trends seem to change almost daily. In many fields, we observe a kind of "more and more" and "faster and faster" mentality. Sadly, this often lacks soul. To conclude my rant: Everything is too fast. Perfumes from the '70s, '80s, and '90s are now considered outdated, which is tragic because there is so much joy in enjoying a fragrance for what it is, rather than when it was created.
    Again, thank you for your sincere videos!

    • @ACSmellsGood
      @ACSmellsGood  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I could not agree more my friend. All things grow slowly, look at nature, but somehow incessant greed has taken us down the road you describe so well.
      Look at classical music for example. It took Mozart months of hard work to compose one symphony, all of his works are available for 11.99 a month on spotify 😁😁.

    I was extremely fortunate to recently pick up a bottle of Havana for $110 Australian, so probably around £50-60. It was the last missing piece of the Aramis Gentleman's Collection in my collection and it's a wonderful fragrance. I don't think I've ever smelled anything quite like it before.

    Hello A.C. The first thing I have to tell you is that I am fascinated by your mastery and passion when describing fragrances. Havana is one of my favorite creations, unique in its genre, practically indescribable and a masterpiece of elegant, leading and masculine fragrance in every way. Boucheron pour homme is another marvel that I would describe as a sublime shaving foam with a spicy touch of class. Habit rouge is a fragrance that fascinates me because I have not finished discovering it, it has a projection of distinction and high class that is almost unmatched, without wanting to be classist, I come from a middle class background, that is what this fragrance inspires in me. I would like you to analyze Esencia pour Homme Loewe and Quorum Puig, two classic fragrances from these Spanish brands that seem masterful to me and are rarely analyzed outside of Spain. A hug.

    Lovely Video, as you did in your good old days, AC! Actually i wanna point a very valuable information: Egoiste was made also by Francois Demachy who was done several Cahanel fragrances with his good old burdy Polge. They Done Antaeus ofc, They done Pour Monsieur Concentre, and Bois Noir the prototype for Later Egoiste, and finally Egoiste. Later in the game, Sheldrake joins either in Chanel house, when Demachy was about to join as a creative dorector for Dior on 2004.

    • @ACSmellsGood
      @ACSmellsGood  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for commenting that Demachy was the perfumer for Egoiste, but what is your source ? Both the fragrantica database and the basenotes database seems to credit Egoiste to Jacques Polge.

    Great, GREAT video! One of my favorites is eau sauvage edt from Dior. I had the pleasure of getting a 10ml decant of a vintage 80s bottle and the scent is just magnificent. Amazing video AC,I can hear you for hours and hours. Let me share a story about Heritage. The first time I smell Heritage, it unlocked a memory in my mind, and I was immediately transported to a very specific time in my childhood, in the early 90’s.A very early memory, I was probably around 3 years old and I was in my doctors office. The doctor must had a patchouli based fragrance and that scent memory was saved in some deep part of my brain. What magical and emotional moment it was. @@oldiesgeek454 it's a very good point you mentioned. As far my understanding goes the aramis havana even when it was available may have not in much production (perhaps low in demand)? & then eventually Discontinued, so I assume now there aren't much units available around that's why sellers will certainly wait to sell high , the reason I feel in this way cuz there are still alot of Discontinued fragrances in markets on still reasonable selling prices (most likely they were massively produced?)

    Thank you for this video. As I'm watching it, I'm wearing a vintage fragrance that was created by Raymond Chaillan! It's called Monsieur Carven and its incredibly beautiful. I would highly recommend it if you don't know it already.

    Perfectly narated as always Sir, sad to learn the orchid in the background has served it’s duty :) May I kindly ask for your advice: there is opportunity to acquire either Guerlain Vetiver (2017 batch) or L’instant de Guerlain EDT (2022 batch). Which one would be a better choice (in terms of smell and value)

    • @ACSmellsGood
      @ACSmellsGood  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Haha the orchid has been moved to a more sunnier spot as the days are getting shorter my friend.
      If I remember correctly, you live in Indonesia, so for your kind of weather the Guerlain Vetiver would suit better although L'Instant is more interesting.

    Have you any experience with the also forgotten CORIOLAN by GUERLAIN?
    Looking forward to a response.

      I have and also on the modernized Coriolan, called l'aim d'un Heros. Both are truly awesome. If I am not mistaken Coriolan was last creation of Jean Paul Guerlain before he passed on the baton.

    Hi AC I appreciate these kinds of reviews as a long time wearer of Jaipur. Do you have an opinion on some old style Van Cleef and Arpel fragrances Tsar, Pour Homme and In New York I have an opportunity to pick them up.

      Thank you Don. I do not have Tsar and pH in my collection, but I have sampled them before, pick them up if you get a chance, they won't disappoint and if they did you could always sell them on as they do not lose value. If anything they will gain in value.

    Hello AC,
    "I just watched your amazing video, and it got me thinking - if you had to pick the one fragrance that stands out as your absolute favorite, the one you would never let go of in your collection, which one would it be? The kind of perfume that truly defines you, where you can confidently say, 'This is the one.' I’d love to hear your thoughts on the scent that holds that special place in your heart!" The best perfume for you ever created.
    Best Regards

      Its a very hard question for a collector like me to pick one. You know I could pick Heritage because it smells amazing in this weather but immediately my mind starts to think about Boucheron pour Homme or Amouage Gold. Its very very hard to pick one ... actually I find it impossible :)

      "Your picks of Boucheron Pour Homme, Amouage Gold, and Guerlain Heritage are excellent! Boucheron Pour Homme is refined and elegant, with a perfect blend of citrus and woods. Amouage Gold is pure luxury, rich and opulent, ideal for special occasions. Guerlain Heritage is complex, warm, and timeless, with a beautiful mix of spice and woods.
      For me, though, 1740 by Histoires de Parfums is the best. Its leathery, woody, and spicy notes make it bold, mysterious, and incredibly wearable - truly my favorite!"
      What you think about denim musk is it better than the original?
