    Thanks for this video!
And thanks for pointing out that the V4 Wide with the fast attachment is similar to the V3/V4 Narrow.
I decided to finally get an Orea brewer after I saw your videos, and I went for the V4 Wide.
Once I received it, and seeing how all recipes referred to the V3/V4 narrow, I wondered if the difference was that big.
I happen to have the Kalita Tsubame Small and Large, and noticed that the angles of the brewers had about the same difference as the Orea V3 compared to the V4 wide.
I found the difference in taste between those to be similar to what you describe in this video.

Which is your favourite V4 bottom?
I only have one Kalita (made of glass) which I haven’t used for ages.

I was looking forward to this video. In the end I went for the wide one and I'm just so satisfied with the experience. Cup quality is great and recipes are finally reproducible. I get consistent results, day after day and that's just amazing!

Finally! The video I have been waiting for from you! ;-)
I´m a huge Orea fan since V2 and got all their drippers since V2 Mk1.
I´m using V4 Wide daily since mid February 2024. For easier comparison i stick to a narrow range of grindsize (270-300 micron; 18-20 C40MK4 RX35 clicks - for those who are curious).
My most favorite attachments are Apex (with V60 paper) & Open (with both; Kalita 155 & V60 paper).
My standard / go-to recipe is a slight variation of OREA´s base recipe.
    14:224 g - 60g Bloom + 3*60g pour. TBT depending on coffee and attachment from 02:00 to 04:00 min.

Im excited to hear what other flat bottom brewers people are liking these days. I dont want a plastic Orea, partially because of health cincerns with heating plastic and also I dont see the value for the price point. I own the Kalita wave 155 and I want to upgrade to something with more capacity and flow potential.

I really like the orea v4 for washed coffees! Using naturals are fermented coffees yielded decent results, but they often had a lot of character and sweetness as far as taste went that benefitted more from the acidity of a v60.
I found with washed coffees, I often find it a bit more difficult to strike a balance between body and acidity and the v4’s attachment lets me play around a lot with those factors.

Hi, thx for watching. I put it in the video somewhere .
I modified it slightly myself. 18g of coffee, 280g of water, temperature 92 or 93. First 3 pours 60mil each, blooming for 40sec and then about every 40sec next pour. Last pour 100mil. In the original recipe he used narrow orea and fast attachment. Overall, it is a very decent recipe.

IMO any material apart from glass, porcelain or stainless steel will taint the coffee and hold stale coffee aromas from previous uses. I can’t use aeropress for this reason and the rubber bung always stinks of stale coffee- even after bleaching.

    • @mycoffeeshow111
      @mycoffeeshow111  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

You must have a very well developed palate. With Areopress it is about that rubber bit that can hold stale taste. Orea has 2 glass brews- maybe I will test them at some point. Recently I played with Varia Flo made of steel.

Oh man that point of orea never replying to any query was so relatable and I get your emotions on this 🤣

I bought the V4 Narrow after I was very happy with the V3 Mk2. I do like the fast bottom attachment and use it most of the times, but I also really wanted to use the APEX attachment, but unfortunately it is just not possible with the V4 Narrow. I wish I knew it before buying. I would’ve probably buy the V4 Wide.
