I dont see a point in high hz laptop gaming on old tn panels. Who is buying a laptop to play competitive shooters? The 4k oled options look sooo much better and play regular games fine, since most AAA games are made for 60hz, and plays fast paced shooters good enough to not feel at a disadvantage. The lack of full keyboard is more of a disadvantage.

My 2016 Alienware 13inch laptop has OLED 1440p touch 1060gpu . I can't find any laptop modern version that would be similar.
The closest is the 13inch RAZER 2020 1080p Oled WITH 1650 TI

I agree with your point on Razer on how it's heavier, Razer was meant to be Sleek but portable. But I think the Blade 14 will become the new Blade 15. 16:10 Screen, bigger body overall which means better cooling and *fingers crossed* more upgradability. I just hope they don't screw it up. 16/18in will be for those who want a true desktop replacement, the 14in will be the all rounder.

    • @Everyday-man
      @Everyday-man ปีที่แล้ว

I have the 2021 blade 14 and it's amazing. But saying that, having the option to have it a little bit thicker to have a full powered GPU. As there older ones like mine and even last year is only 100watt GPU... this makes a difference..
I'd jump at it, not sure why a few people are saying other wise. He didn't go into much detail. They will have full powered GPU, better cooling, especially the 18 which has a third fan. I think the 16 would be a great middle, becuase I've had the 14 for over a year and love it.. but when trying to do productively stuff, the 14 screen can be pretty cramped and hard to read fine print. I'd say the 16 would be really nice for both gaming and work.
For me, I would be happy with a little bit thicker. It's the build quality that I love, the steel chassis! Saying that, I got mine $1200 off, if it wasn't for that. I probably would have done MSI again

    • @LAFadhel

@@Everyday-man I can completely agree with all your points. The 14in is portability but does get cramped, I do hope by giving it a 16:10 screen this year *fingers crossed* it’ll make the overall body bigger giving it better cooling and maybe better upgradability.

Pricing was the issue. Basically, the screen made the price go up too much, but folks werent interested in buying them. Seems in the laptop scene, higher refresh rates at a range of about $1500 - $2000 is the sweet spot. You go above that and its not a big seller, but more of a hyper niche product. Theres also the fact that having 4K 120 screens does put pressure on the battery.

Take a look at most of them, 3 hours is like the bottom of the barely they are willing to take. Understand that I mean general use, not gaming. Fck high refresh rate screens... 120 - 144 is enough... a better panel with better nits, contrast and color is preferable than trying to have 240 or 300 fps.....
usb 4 or thunderbolt... tbh I don't know which will be better... but its needed.

OLED has better blacks and contrast overall, at the cost of burn in being a consideration. (I’m sure that it’s better than it was before, but it’s still somewhat inherent to the physics of OLED)
Mini LED is just an IPS* screen with a better backlight. They get brighter than OLED (most of the mini leds I’ve seen announced are 1000 nits, whereas OLED last year was ~500 nits). You don’t have to worry about burn in.
Cons of mini led would be worse blacks and less insane contrast. Mini led might have haloing in dark scenes, that’s something we’ll have to see when Jarred does his reviews.

Cruddy plastic and screen hinges, thing is literally in pieces, not even a screen, but still somehow works at least! Won't be buying an MSI laptop again. Was leaning towards Lenovo for their metal chassis + keypad and rear I/O + AMD for longer battery life and 2TB config. (I've always gone intel/nvidia)
Just can't decide which version. 6900 slim? New Pro 7 coming out (why the upside down ethernet?!), or the current 7, non slim. If you could pick for yourself, which of those 3 might you go for? It's a tradeoff between form factor/battery/heat/speed/io so there isn't a clear choice for me!

It's a Linux laptop from System76, the Pangolin 2023. I'm considering it because it comes with Linux out of the box, doesn't have Nvidia, can go up to 32 GB of RAM with 2 m.2 SSDs, and even has a decent port selection. If it had a dGPU, an HDMI 2.1 port, and a 16:10 screen, it would have been perfect...

After seeing Howarts wanting 32g ram for Ultra settings. I'm predicting newer games will start requiring more ram, which is expected I guess. Games are no longer just games. They're basically a playable movie, there just so huge in many ways.
I recommend anyone reading this, try get a laptop with 32g ram or atlest had the possibility of adding more ram. Mine is soldered on 😞 but overall it's a fantastic system

What is the cost difference between all the devices using Mini LED and Lenovo opting out? If there is a noticeable price difference from it then I would let it slide (especially with the 4000 series ridiculous pricing). If they try to drop it at the same price then it will hurt them bad.

As a filmmaker, I wish the 18-inch models were a little more colour correct asper the Adobe RGB standards. I wouldn't have thought of purchasing anything else

I would love a Zephyrus, exept I can't get over the fact the hot air gets pointed directly on to the screen.

Alienware CC is still a buggy glitchy mess. Using the custom setting option causes all kinds of issues, the best thing it to block it from operating and just using it to change your keyboard lights.

What do you think about the new Dell G16? Its price seems incredibly low for the components it has.
